Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black hooked fans with its juicy drama, shocking twists, and unforgettable characters in Season 1. Now, everyone's buzzing about Season 2, dying to know what's next for Kimmie, the Bellarie family, and all the chaos they bring. If you're as obsessed as we are, here's the latest on Beauty in Black Season 2, including when it drops, who's back, and what wild drama to expect. When Is Beauty in Black Season 2 Coming Out?
Good news, fans! Netflix has locked in September 11, 2025, for the premiere of Beauty in Black Season 2. Like the first season, it'll roll out in two parts, with the first batch of episodes—likely eight—hitting on that date. The second part should follow a few months later, possibly in early 2026. Tyler Perry's team wrapped filming earlier this year, so the wait won't be too brutal. Perry himself dropped hints on social media, saying the new season is 'coming sooner than you think,' and fans are already counting down the days. Cast Updates: Who's Returning for Season 2?
The heart of Beauty in Black is its stellar cast, and most of the fan favorites are expected to return. Taylor Polidore Williams is back as Kimmie, the former exotic dancer who shook things up by marrying Horace Bellarie (played by Ricco Ross) in the Season 1 finale. Their marriage is sure to stir up trouble, especially with Horace's health on shaky ground—will he even make it through the season?
Here's who else we expect to see: Crystle Stewart as Mallory Bellarie, the glamorous but ruthless beauty mogul fighting to keep her family's empire intact.
Debbi Morgan as Olivia Bellarie, the sharp-tongued matriarch who's always scheming to stay on top.
Amber Reign Smith as Rain, Kimmie's ride-or-die bestie who's been through it all.
Julian Horton as Roy Bellarie, caught up in the family's power games.
Steven G. Norfleet as Charles Bellarie, another key player in the Bellarie drama.
Richard Lawson as Norman Bellarie, Horace's brother, adding more tension to the mix.
No word yet on new faces, but knowing Tyler Perry, he's probably got some surprise characters up his sleeve to keep us guessing. What to Expect in Season 2
The Season 1 finale left audiences reeling with Kimmie's marriage to Horace, a strategic move to secure his fortune and outmaneuver his scheming family. Season 2 will dive deeper into Kimmie's transformation from underdog to a powerful force within the Bellarie empire. Expect intense power struggles as Mallory, Olivia, and others resist Kimmie's newfound control.
The official synopsis hints at darker themes: Kimmie, once a sex worker under the Bellaries' employ, becomes 'an unstoppable force of vengeance' on a mission to rescue her kidnapped sister. This suggests a focus on Kimmie's quest for justice, alongside the unraveling of the Bellarie family's secrets, including their ties to an underground trafficking ring.
Key storylines to watch: Kimmie's Rise to Power : How will Kimmie handle her new role as the Bellarie family's matriarch? Her marriage to Horace puts her at odds with his children and in-laws, setting the stage for explosive confrontations.
Horace's Fate : With Horace on his deathbed in Season 1, will he survive to guide Kimmie, or will his passing shift the power dynamics further?
Family Betrayals : The Bellarie family is no stranger to backstabbing. Olivia's blackmail schemes and Mallory's ambitions will likely fuel more drama.
Rain's Journey: After a tumultuous Season 1, Rain's health and loyalty to Kimmie will be tested. Will she remain a steady ally?
Tyler Perry has promised that Season 2 will be a 'wild ride,' with unexpected turns that no one will see coming. Fans can expect more of the soapy drama that made Season 1 a hit.

Amazon-backed Showrunner launches 'Netflix of AI' platform — and you can star in your own show

A startup that once made headlines for generating AI episodes of "South Park" is officially launching its next act today (July 30). And as someone who got early access to the service more than a year ago, I can honestly say it feels like this might be the future of streaming. Today, Showrunner, a San Francisco–based startup backed by Amazon and founded by Oculus and Pixar veterans, unveiled what it calls the "Netflix of AI," a platform that lets anyone generate custom TV shows and episodes in minutes using natural language prompts. Users can write an idea, upload a selfie and instantly star in their own sitcom, action series or satire, all animated and voiced by AI. The launch follows viral success from the company's "South Park" AI experiment, which drew more than 80 million views despite being unauthorized. Now, Showrunner is betting big on a new form of 'playable television,' where viewers are also creators, cast members and collaborators. 'The next big streaming platforms won't be passive,' CEO Edward Saatchi said. 'You'll describe the show you want to watch and start watching it within minutes. Then make new episodes, add yourself and your friends — fighting aliens, solving crimes, or starring in your favorite sitcom.' At the heart of Showrunner is SHOW-2, the company's proprietary AI model capable of writing, animating, voicing, editing and producing full episodes of television. Early access users can sign up now at where a waitlist of more than 100,000 people is already queued up to try the platform. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. The product builds on Showrunner's original SHOW-1 model and AI Showrunner Agents, which can handle every role in a traditional TV pipeline, from writer's room to post-production. According to co-creator Philipp Maas, who led the team behind the South Park AI demos, the goal is to democratize Hollywood. 'Soon, anyone will be able to create their own hit show or become a showrunner for someone else's world,' Maas said. Showrunner's flagship launch title is "Exit Valley," a "Family Guy-style" animated series set in 'Sim Francisco.' The show lampoons tech giants like Sam Altman and Elon Musk, portraying a world where AI moguls promise to end work and money, while becoming the richest humans to ever live. 'Satire is the age-old tool of the powerless against the powerful,' Saatchi said. ''Exit Valley' lets people use AI to fight back—by putting themselves in the show and making scenes that mock the daily tech news.' Some of the first episodes were created by Fable, Showrunner's parent company, while others will be made by users and judged by a panel of filmmakers. The platform's episodic structure makes it easier for AI to handle, though Saatchi admits that 'epic arcs like 'Breaking Bad' or 'Game of Thrones'' are still out of reach for AI storytelling. While OpenAI and Google have AI tools that can generate video or control software, Showrunner's edge is integration: the platform can animate, voice, edit and deliver a watchable episode without needing multiple tools. From experience, I can tell you that it's also far more interactive in that it lets users create within familiar IP worlds. The hands-on experience makes Showrunner more fun and creative for streamers. Saatchi envisions a future where Disney or Lucasfilm could offer branded models, 'Star WarsGPT' or 'PixarGPT,' that fans subscribe to in order to create stories within their favorite universes. 'The Toy Story of AI isn't just a cheaper movie,' he said. 'It's playable. You'll watch a film on Friday, and by Sunday there will be millions of fan-made scenes — all monetizable by the IP holder.' The launch of Showrunner marks a clear shift toward two-way entertainment. Instead of waiting years for renewals or green lights, creators can spin up a season on their own. It also gives aspiring writers and animators; especially those without Hollywood connections, a new path in. Just ask Dov Friedman, co-creator of indie TV pilot "Hutzpah," who said Showrunner finally gave his team the tools to bring their series to life after years of rejection. 'We couldn't even get a yes or a no,' Friedman said. 'Showrunner gave us everything we needed to develop a full season without a big studio.' With Amazon, Intel and Fable's Emmy-winning team behind it, Showrunner may be the first of many platforms redefining what it means to watch, make and be in a can expect more of the following: For now, users can sign up at to get started on creating their own shows. Will There Be A ‘Happy Gilmore 3'? Here's The Bad News

Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore 2 had a massive debut weekend on Netflix, so does that mean there are already talks of a Happy Gilmore 3? Happy Gilmore 2, which is new on Netflix, arrived on the streaming platform on July 25, more than 29 years after the release of the original Happy Gilmore film in February of 1996. Starring Sandler as the title character opposite original Happy Gilmore cast members Julie Bowen (Virginia Venit) and Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin), Happy Gilmore 2 finds Happy in a not-so-happy place. After marrying Virginia and having five kids together, Happy's life goes into a tailspin after a personal tragedy and he quits the golf game. But when a huge opportunity arises for Happy's daughter, Vienna (Sunny Sandler), to attend a prestigious but spendy private ballet school, the one-time hockey-stick-wielding professional golf sensation aims to make a comeback to provide for his family. However, a rich entrepreneur, Frank Manatee (Benny Sadfie) runs interference with Happy's plan when his new extreme sports-like golf league threatens the world of professional golf. Happy Gilmore 2 attracted massive viewership numbers on Netflix in its first three days of release, which was enough for the sequel to rack up 46.7 million views — which equates to 91.9 million hours viewed — to debut at No. 1 on Netflix's Top 10 Global Movies chart for the week of July 21-27. Naturally, a viewer response like that begs the obvious question of whether there will be a Happy Gilmore 3. Unfortunately for fans, Happy Gilmore franchise writer Tim Herlihy — who penned the Happy Gilmore and Happy Gilmore 2 scripts with Sandler — told The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday that right now, the answer is no as to whether the idea of a second Happy Gilmore sequel has been discussed. 'Not between me and Adam,' Herlihy, who did the interview with Sandler, told THR. 'I can say we haven't had one discussion about it. I haven't even thought about it in the privacy of my own brain. I'm sure some people in the world are talking about it. Never say never, I guess. We said we'd never do Happy Gilmore 2, and it's currently streaming on Netflix, so you never know.' As for other principals involved with the new film, the idea of a Happy Gilmore 3 film isn't on Happy Gilmore 2 director Kyle Newacheck's radar, either. 'I would be too forward to even think about it right now,' Newacheck told The Direct. 'The first one took [a] 29-year gestation period before they figured out what the second one is. I feel like whatever I come up with right now is going to be, not it, homie.' Adam Sandler And Tim Herlihy Were In A Happy Place Before 'Happy Gilmore 2' Was Even Released In his THR interview with Tim Herlihy, Adam Sandler was naturally thrilled about the huge reception of Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix over the weekend, which was an extension of the good vibes he was getting before the film arrived on the streaming service. 'We couldn't be happier. It's something that I can't describe,' Sandler told THR. 'Just walking down the street, hearing people talk about it even before it came out — we were like, something fun is going on here. We went from 'This was nothing we ever thought about' to having one of the best times of our careers together feeling, the fun of it all.' While the idea of a Happy Gilmore 3 seems like a non-starter for now, it doesn't mean that other characters in Herlihy and Sandler's treasure trove of comedies aren't up for the sequel treatment. Herlihy told THR that the success of Happy Gilmore 2 'throws it open' regarding sequels for past characters from their films. 'Obviously, a lot of our older movies, we've lost cast members, like in this one, and sometimes it's hard to imagine doing it without them. Definitely not sure we want to just be in the business of doing sequels to movies,' Herlihy told THR with a laugh. 'But the response to this and the way people have embraced it definitely makes it more exciting, if we were to do that.' Also starring Ben Stiller, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (aka Bad Bunny), Hayley Joel Osment, Sadie Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Margaret Qualley and John Daly — and featuring several and showbiz and pro sports star cameos — Happy Gilmore 2 is new on Netflix.

Netflix Has Both 'Happy Gilmore' Movies Right Now, but Not for Long

The biggest original film to arrive on Netflix in July was undoubtedly Happy Gilmore 2. The Adam Sandler sequel was 30 years in the making and marks the return of one of his most iconic characters, Happy Gilmore, a Boston Bruins-obsessed hockey fan who turns his mean slapshot into a professional golf career. Happy Gilmore 2 premiered on Netflix on July 25, and features most of the original film's cast. Sandler is joined by Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, Dennis Dugan and Ben Stiller, all of whom reprise their roles from the first movie. Sadly, some members of the original 1996 cast, including Bob Barker and Carl Weathers, have died, but new characters played by Bad Bunny, Kym Whitley and Benny Safdie debuted in the sequel. With so much hype around the new release, it makes sense that fans are clamoring to revisit the original, which dropped on Netflix July 1 and is currently in the Netflix Top 10. But you'll have to act fast if you want to watch the comedy classic on Netflix -- that's because Happy Gilmore will no longer be streaming there after July 31. But, when one door closes, another opens, while you may not be able to watch the original on Netflix after this week, the good news is that it'll arrive on Starz on Friday, Aug. 1 so you can catch it there. You'll still be able to rent Happy Gilmore on platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV, too. So if you're gearing up for a Happy Gilmore weekend, fear not, you can still stream both films, as long as you know where to look.
