Inside Tom Allen's love life with actor boyfriend who is his 'first ever relationship'
Tom Allen has been a regular on TV screens for the past few years, but away from the cameras he is in a relationship with actor Tom Allen, one of the UK's favourite presenters, is in a relationship with a well-known figure. The comedian has become a familiar face on television over recent years, thanks to appearances on programmes such as Live at the Apollo, Bake Off: The Professionals and 8 Out of 10 Cats. In addition to these roles, Tom also hosts BBC's The Apprentice: You're Fired. At present, he is co-hosting ITV 's Cooking with the Stars alongside Emma Willis, which has just kicked off its fifth series. However, away from the small screen, Tom is happily in a relationship with his boyfriend Alfie Garston. Alfie is an actor and events organiser who works freelance as a host and performer for the Walt Disney Company. His role at Disney has taken him across the globe, including stints in Paris, Tokyo and London, where he presents the annual Halloween and Christmas Parties, reports the Mirror. He has also previously worked as an actor for the Glad Rags Production Company. Speaking about Alfie - who Tom is believed to have started dating in 2021 - Tom disclosed that this is his "first ever relationship". In a 2022 interview with The Independent, he said: "Alfie's been amazing. He's a very kind person and calming for me. He's very grounded. This is my first ever relationship and it just calms you down a bit." Back in 2019, Tom shared with iNews that he had never been in a relationship before. He commented: "I used to think that was a bit of a scandal in itself, an unusual thing. "But I've met more and more people who are like that. There are people who find it very easy to get into relationships and I've always just not." Tom and Alfie, who share a home in Bromley, frequently post glimpses of their life on social media - including sunshine-filled holidays overseas. The pair have also stepped out together publicly on numerous occasions, and were recently spotted at Mel B's wedding in July. Furthermore, back in March, Tom set tongues wagging about a potential engagement after viewers tuning into Comic Relief noticed what appeared to be an engagement ring. One viewer pondered on X at the time: "Is that an engagement ring I spotted on @tomallencomedy? Congratulations if true. Alfie seems such a lovely man. #comicrelief".

From Bingate to collapsing cake - the 5 most scandalous Bake off moments
The Great British Bake Off on Channel 4, hosted by Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond, has served up some iconic moments over the years. From contestants accidentally throwing desserts in the bin to fainting chefs, it's quite astounding how much drama has been produced out of baking. Fielding is currently the show's longest-standing presenter, having hosted first with Sandy Toksvig when the show moved from the BBC to Channel 4 in 2016. Following that, he had a brief stint hosting the show alongside Little Britain comedian Matt Lucas. Now, he has formed a formidable duo with ITV's This Morning presenter Hammond. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. But, after first airing back in 2010, today – on its 15th anniversary – Metro takes a look at the five most scandalous moments in the show's history. Nadiya Hussain's win in series six has often been cited as a highlight in the show's history. After baking a stunning three-tiered wedding cake inspired by her Bangladeshi heritage, as she never had a wedding cake of her own, she left the nation – and Mary Berry – in tears. More than 14 million viewers tuned in to watch her heartfelt speech, making it the most-watched UK show of the year. Nadiya also launched a successful career as a TV personality and author. This came in the form of cookbooks and her own cooking shows, leaving a lasting impact on Britain. The 'bingate' scandal, which involved Iain Watters and Diana Beard, remains one of the most talked-about moments in the show's history. In series five in 2014, Diana appeared to have removed Iain's Baked Alaska from the freezer, causing it to melt. Furious, Iain binned his dessert and dramatically walked out, leaving nothing to present to the judges. At the time, viewers stormed social media with the hashtag JusticeForIain. But Sue Perkins and Paul Hollywood defended the show, claiming the ice cream was only out for 40 seconds, which was not long enough to ruin it. John Whaite, who has made headlines in recent years for switching to OnlyFans, is also remembered for an iconic moment in the series. During a technical challenge, John catastrophically used salt instead of sugar in his rum babas, leading to a memorable reaction from Paul Hollywood. The well-known judge spat out the dessert with a grimace. The Great British Bake Off has well and truly cemented itself as one of the juggernauts in British television. Every year, millions of viewers flock in to see the action and are utterly transfixed. Since its debut in 2010, it has managed to maintain its core charm alongside drama and tension. As well as celebrating amateur bakers and contestants from a variety of different background, the show also continues to resonate with audiences. However, John ultimately went on to win the series, proving that the setback was not as bad as it seemed. In series 11, contestant Sura is remembered for knocking over Dave's tray of cakes. The bakers were tasked with making six identical pineapple upside-down cakes. However, as a fly came into the room, Sara attempted to swat it away but made contact with Dave's tray. Despite Sura apologising profusely, Dave's cakes were ranked ninth in the challenge, while Sura won. More Trending We're not quite sure he's over it to this day… From knocked over pineapple upside-down cakes to collapsing ones, Ruby Tandoh is remembered for all the wrong reasons on the series. Known for her creative bakes, the contestant's two-tiered lemon, chocolate and coconut cake looked amazing, but the top layer slid off, causing the cake to fall apart. View More » Despite the mishap, judges Prue Leith and Paul still enjoyed the flavour and did not eliminate her. Got a story? End of an era in Emmerdale as Moira prepares to leave the farm
Emmerdale's Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) has been valiantly fighting for Butlers like her life depends on it, but it's time for her to let go. Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) has been playing dirty trying to get the farm for Kim Tate (Claire King) so that she can see her dream of one big super farm come to fruition, but she's fought so hard, she's now feeling as empty as her slurry tank. Her neighbour Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) had offered her a lifeline of a contract with a local hotel. They were looking for a new meat supplier, and while Celia could offer the poultry, to make the deal viable she needed Moira on board with the beef. Realising that this was the one way to keep her business afloat, Moira jumped straight into the deal, despite Celia being a shady business partner herself. But things take a weird and sudden turn – the hotel pulls out of the deal and the contract falls through. Moira is left in the nightmare situation of being even more in the red than before. Meanwhile, Joe shocks Dawn with the levels he'll sink to, to get the farm. More Trending The hotel comes back to Moira and Celia to counter the offer – laying just half of what was originally offered on the table. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers?
