BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs to have pre-season in the Netherlands

Kaizer Chiefs have announced their pre-season plans in preparation for the 2025-26 campaign.
In a brief statement published on Thursday, Chiefs confirmed that they will travel to the Netherlands.
According to Amakhosi, the entire team will be in the Netherlands between 3-19 July 2025.
Last pre-season, Chiefs spent three weeks in Turkey where then new coach Nasreddine Nabi joined them.
Nonetheless, their trip to Turkey somehow didn't help them as the team struggled for the better of the season, especially in the league. Kaizer Chiefs to have pre-season in the Netherlands. Image: @KaizerChiefs/X

Kaizer Chiefs ditch Mokwana, reignite interest in old target

Kaizer Chiefs have abandoned a move for Elias Mokwana and put all their eggs in another intriguing basket. Instead, there are new reports that Chiefs will make a fresh approach for Oswin Appollis. Manager Nasreddine Nabi is also a known admirer of Feisal Salum, who played for Tanzania against Bafana Bafana in a 0-0 friendly on Friday night. In their search for a prolific wide man, Chiefs have reportedly reignited their interest in Polokwane and Bafana star Oswin Appollis. The 23-year-old was in action for South Africa in a 0-0 draw against Tanzania. 'If you were talking about Appollis, I could have agreed with you. It's also an open secret that Chiefs are interested in him. The negotiations are believed to also be at an advanced stage as there are a few logistics they are working on, but not Elias Mokwana,' an insider told Soccer Laduma. 'Nabi is the Pep Guardiola of Africa' SAFootClassics on X believes that Orlando Pirates right-back Thabiso Monyane has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It's not the most far-fetched rumour we've ever heard. Pirates already have several players in that position, with Deano van Rooyen and Bandile Shandu currently vying for the role. 'Orlando Pirates are emptying the recycling bin now'

We love how fans in South Africa react to football news. The latest player news from Orlando Pirates has drawn mixed reactions. The Sea Robbers have released Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako. Meanwhile, the club have proactively strengthened the full-back areas with a deal wrapped up for Baroka's Tshepho Mashiloane. All you need to know about Tshepho Mashiloane It's been long suggested that both full-back positions are arguably the biggest relative weaknesses in the Orlando Pirates squad. Incoming business is expected in those areas, but first, the Sea Robbers are getting rid of players not in their plans. Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako are heading out. One Bucs fan sounds happy that the club are getting rid of surplus players: In their search for a prolific wide man, Chiefs have reportedly reignited their interest in Polokwane and Bafana star Oswin Appollis. The 23-year-old was in action for South Africa in a 0-0 draw against Tanzania. Appollis is also a target for Pirates. Kaizer Chiefs interested in free signing of top PSL prospect!

Kaizer Chiefs will be looking to make a squad overhaul ahead of the next season, which promises to be busy. Chiefs may have failed to qualify for next season's MTN8 but they won the Nedbank Cup meaning continental football. That will mean traveling throughout the continent, while balancing out the domestic competitions. This, could prove to be a rigorous schedule for Chiefs , with the amount of games they'd be playing weekly. This would then present a challenge to their management to ensure they have adequate squad depth to be able to cope with it all. As it stands, they have a squad filled with more quantity than quality. They will have to attack the coming market with intent if they're to change their fortunes. It is therefore no surprise that they have been linked to quite a few players of a high calibre, to try and improve their fortunes. Chiefs will also have to move smarter in the market and target younger players with PSL experience. This seems to already be happening, as earlier in the week, this publication reported negotiations for Aphiwe Baliti. The 23-year-old is currently at SuperSport United and is earmarked to compete for the left-back position next season. Now according to Unplayable, he may not be the only youngster from Matsatsantsa to join Chiefs next week. According to the X account, Chiefs are also interested in signing Ime Okon on a free transfer. '𝕋ℝ𝔸ℕ𝕊𝔽𝔼ℝ 𝕌ℙ𝔻𝔸𝕋𝔼 Two players from SuperSport United linked with Kaizer Chiefs; Aphiwe Baliti and Ime Okon. Okon's contract with SSU expires 30 June 2025.' .Wrote the publication Okon has previous been linked with moves abroad and recently made his Bafana Bafana debut in the COSAFA Cup. He has been touted as a top prospect for the country at just 20-years-old. Chiefs fans, would you love to sign him on a free? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab.
