Edinburgh Fringe comedian Gary Little dies as tributes flood in for 'wonderful man'
Tributes have flooded in for a beloved Scottish stand-up comedian after his sad passing.
Gary Little, a regular on the stand-up circuit and a fixture at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, passed away this week, with news of his death announced on social media on Friday, reports The Record.
Gary had been due to perform at the Glee Club in Glasgow on Friday and Saturday night.
No cause of death has been confirmed but his sudden passing has prompted an outpouring of grief from fellow comedians and fans alike.
Comedian Ray Bradshaw said: "Absolutely gutted to hear about the passing of Gary Little. A literal giant of the Scottish comedy scene. I lived with him two years in a row Australia. He was a wonderful man and helped me so much over the years.
"This is my favourite photo of him. Sent it to him every birthday"
Darren Connell said: "Scottish comedy lost a legend today - heart-breaking news.

"Gary was an absolute powerhouse. He hosted my first ever gig when I was 18 years old, and after a shocker of a set, he took me aside and told me to keep my head down, work hard, and not let it get to me.
"I'm glad he was kind enough to say that, and even more glad I listened. I've never forgotten it.
"Life is so short. RIP Gary Little"
Rob Kane wrote: "Scottish comedy and the world have lost a legend today. Gary Little I could rhyme off hundreds of stories of the times we've spent backstage and in car journeys together, the big man's stern gaze, his lack of tolerance for people over running on their time on stage, but most of all his warmth and empathy."
Ronnie Black wrote: "Am in total disbelief tonight that a genuine legend of Scottish Comedy and great guy has died today whilst climbing mountains.
"Gary Little is a name well known in comedy and the North of Glasgow.
"I had the pleasure of watching Gary and Sean Lock on the opening weekend of Glee. I will never forget Gary spoke for 20 minutes about a frying pan. Never knew frying pans were so funny.
"I couldn't post this without sharing what I believe to be one of the best pieces of visual comedy I have ever seen.
"Gary the Scottish Comedy Forum: is broken hearted tonight.
"RIP mate."
Jo Caulfield also paid tribute on Facebook: "What terribly sad news. Gary Little was a great comic and an amazing person to spend time with. We are all poorer for losing you Gary.
"My love and sympathy to his family and loved ones. I will truly miss not seeing you backstage and never hearing that big mischievous laugh.
"Too soon. RIP my friend.
Steven Ward added "That's a shame, Gary was a really sound guy when I met him and funny too."

Winners of the 2025 World Pipe Band Championships revealed
More than 35,000 spectators attended the two-day event, which brings together the best pipers and drummers from around the globe to compete in what is described as the 'ultimate battle of the bands'. Scotland had the largest national contingent with 122 bands, followed by Northern Ireland with 25 bands, and the USA with 14 bands. Audiences from all over the world were able to view the highlights from the championships on both days via live streaming. This year, the major event included a dedicated youth competition. More than 1500 under-18s took part in the new feature, which celebrated and recognised young talent in piping and drumming. More info A loved-up couple have tied the knot in a 'history making' performance at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Linus Karp and Joseph Martin were married on Saturday in front of a sold-out audience at The Pleasance Grand on Saturday. The couple, known for hit shows such as Gwyneth Goes Skiing, are the first pair to marry on stage with a ticketed audience in the Fringe's 78-year history. At the ceremony, Joseph entered to Charli XCX's Von Dutch - while Linus was carried on stage to the tune of Jellicle Cats, from the musical Cats. The service was conducted by Edinburgh Council's Jackie Blackburn, who pronounced the couple husband and husband to a 'momentous' standing ovation. After the ceremony, Linus said: "This day was so fergalicious. Being in a room so full of love alongside the love of my life is a moment that will live with me forever. "We cannot wait for our incredible officiant Jackie Blackburn's debut comedy hour at next year's Fringe - she was an instant icon." Joseph added: "The nerves kicked in when we went to get dressed with our incredible designer Cosimo Damiano - then it felt real! But once we were in our outfits and backstage, it felt like the most natural thing for us to be doing. "Walking down the aisle to Charli XCX's 'Von Dutch' with bodyguards and spark machines wasn't necessarily how I saw my wedding going, but I don't think it gets any more iconic. I couldn't be happier to be Mr Ljunggren." The couple are also starring in The Fit Prince, which is on at the Pleasance Courtyard. Edinburgh heckler's bizarre rant at 'middle-class YouTube dancer' during street performance

More info The moment an Edinburgh street performer was heckled was caught in a clip, as a man claimed she was 'from a middle-class family'. The strange incident was shared online by dancer Lucia Leeson, where a man claimed she was a 'street dancer who has never worked on the street'. He also shouted: "It doesn't look as good off the camera." Lucia shared the incident on TikTok, which shows the individual kneeling behind her as she attempts to perform in The Grassmarket. In the bizarre clip, the man shouts: "Look everybody, a street dancer who never worked on the street is from a middle-class family. "Well done. Well done you. It doesn't look as good off the camera unfortunately, I know what you're used to - performing for YouTube."
