Stefon Diggs first Patriots interview turns awkward with boat questions

Yahooa day ago

The New England Patriots made star wide receiver Stefon Diggs available to the media for the first time on Tuesday, and to no one's surprise, he was swarmed with questions about the infamous party boat incident from a few weeks back on Memorial Day weekend.
A video of Diggs chatting up a group of women before passing out a bag containing an unidentified pink substance went viral. Patriots coach Mike Vrabel revealed that the team was aware of the incident, but he didn't go into detail about any private conversations he might have had with Diggs on the matter.

Diggs revealed he did indeed have a conversation with Vrabel and others in the building, but he refused to go into the intimate details surrounding the incident.
"[I'm trying to keep] my personal life personal. I had a conversation with [Vrabel], obviously," said Diggs. "I'm going to echo everything he said. He told me, 'Hoping everybody is making good decisions.' I had a conversation with people in the building as well."
Diggs was pushed with a few follow-up questions that he quickly shut down, stating his 10 years in the league as proof that he's used to dealing with media inquiries. However, he did appear somewhat aggravated when pushed for a fourth time.
"Obviously, I don't want to be rude, but I hate to repeat myself for the fourth time," said Diggs.
The Patriots signed Diggs to a three-year, $69 million deal in the offseason.

He is currently rehabbing from a torn ACL injury, but the hope is that the 31-year-old receiver still has enough juice to serve as a top option for second-year quarterback Drake Maye.

Cowboys' $97 million man targeting Week 1 return after 2 years of injuries

Cowboys' $97 million man targeting Week 1 return after 2 years of injuries After tearing his ACL last season, Diggs has his sights set on returning for the season opener. Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs, who missed the final six games last season after undergoing surgery to repair a knee injury, has his sights set on returning Week 1 vs the Philadelphia Eagles, according to reporter Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. While the All-Pro is hoping to follow through on his first major goal of the upcoming 2025 season, it will ultimately come down to how well he progresses during training camp. Dallas signed Diggs to a five-year, $97 million extension heading into the 2023 season, but he hasn't played much since then. The former 2020 second-round pick has battled through the injury bug and has missed plenty of football, 21 games to be exact, over the past two seasons, most notably in 2023 after a gruesome ACL tear suffered during a September practice sidelined him for 15 games. Before the injuries came into the picture, Diggs had firmly established himself as one of the NFL's premier playmakers on the back end. His ability to take away a side of the field, bait quarterbacks into mistakes, and create game-changing turnovers made him a centerpiece of Dallas' defense and a massive piece to replace once he went down. Now under new defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, the Cowboys will be eager to see Diggs back in the fold as well as hope to see Diggs and fellow All-Pro teammate DaRon Bland see plenty of action on the field at the same time.

Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Issues Shocking Prediction on Rehab

Cowboys' Trevon Diggs Issues Shocking Prediction on Rehab originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - There is no shortage of Trevon Diggs-related rumors and theories and headline news. The difference on Wednesday? Advertisement Trevon Diggs himself took charge. There are stories ranging from the idea of him being cut to the idea of him being traded to the idea of his rehab going poorly, and new Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer recently tried to set the record straight here inside The Star. 'All signs,'' Scottenheimer said, even as Diggs was absent from OTAs while working on his knee in Miami, "are positive.' How much so? "Trevon Diggs (knee) says his goal is to return Week 1 of the 2025 season," colleague Calvin Watkins of the Dallas News just wrote on X. This is a shocking announcement from Diggs .. and maybe a wildly optimistic one. Advertisement Due to his knee issue and as a response, Dallas brought in talented third-round steal Shavon Revel, a cornerback from East Carolina, in the NFL Draft. (He, of course, also happens to be recovering from knee surgery.) The Cowboys also traded for former first-round pick Kaiir Elam from the Buffalo Bills. So maybe Trevon is just dangling that inspirational carrot on a stick for himself ... because to many, the situation surrounding Diggs, who signed a $97 million extension in 2023, is worrisome. Sources have told that Diggs - who underwent a chondral tissue graft surgery in January on his left knee after missing the final three games of the 2024 season - will likely miss the first half of this season. And really, being that this is Diggs' second major knee surgery in the last three seasons, his Cowboys career could have already seen its best days. Advertisement And to some, those days could be numbered. But even though Diggs has missed 21 games over the past two seasons, he certainly doesn't need to succumb to that line of thinking. There has been some organizational frustration here, which was noticed when owner Jerry Jones urged Diggs into a more focused and motivated rehab process this offseason -- which hints that Dallas believes he may not have taken things seriously enough last time. Is Trevon Diggs serious about playing in Week 1? That might be a shocking thought. But to Cowboys Nation, it's probably an inspirational one as well. Trevon Diggs aims to return for season opener

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is rehabbing his left knee after undergoing chondral bone graft surgery Jan. 23, which entails transplanting pieces of bone tissue into the joint to stimulate growth. While he was expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2025 season, Diggs told Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News that his goal is to return in time to play Week 1. Diggs, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee during a Week 3 practice in 2023, is rehabbing in Miami. He is attending the team's mandatory minicamp this week, though he is not cleared for on-field work. Diggs twice has made the Pro Bowl, but he has played only 13 games combined the past two seasons because of his knee injuries.
