Amid this, Fawad Khan, Vaani Kapoor and Ridhi Dogra have also condemned the terror attacks. As the chatter around the film grows, there is also intrigue about the film's cast.
The film is headlined by Fawad Khan, who plays the role of Abir Singh. The film marks Fawad Khan's Bollywood comeback after nine years. The actor previously appeared in three Bollywood films, including Khoobsurat (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). He recently wrote on Instagram, 'Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident and we pray for strength and healing for their families in this difficult time."
Vaani Kapoor
The film's leading lady is Vaani Kapoor, who plays the role of Gulaal Bajaj. After the Pahalgam terror attacks, Vaani was trolled on social media for starring in Abir Gulaal with Fawad. However, the actress had signed the film only after taking care of all legal formalities. She recently took to Instagram and wrote, 'Have been numb, at a loss of words since the time I have seen the attack on innocent people in Pahalgam. Gutted. Devastated. My prayers are with the families."
Ridhi Dogra
As per IMDb, Ridhi Dogra will play the role of Avantika in the film. While the details of her role are not public yet, she also received criticism on social media for starring in the film. However, the actress clarified that she had complied with Indian laws. She also condemned the horrific terror attacks and said that peace is important for every civilisation. She wrote on Instagram, 'I think it's about time the good Muslims stepped up and rejected the monsters and called them out!"
Soni Razdan
According to IMDd's page, Alia Bhatt's mother, Soni Razdan, will also be seen in Abir Gulaal. As per the website, she will play the role of Sushma. While details about her role are not known yet, fans speculate that she will play either Fawad or Vaani's mother in the film.
The website has also credited Lisa Haydon as Laila, Farida Jalal as Nani, Parmeet Sethi as Suresh and Rahul Vohra as Dinesh. However, there is no official confirmation on the cast except Fawad, Vaani and Riddhi.
