Chiefs Kingdom is getting more expansive, and only Rams Nation can match it.
On Monday the NFL announced that the Kansas City Chiefs were awarded marketing and commercialization rights for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain as part of the NFL's Global Markets Program.
'We are incredibly excited to bring Chiefs football to fans in the U.K., Ireland and Spain,' said Chiefs owner Clark Hunt in a statement. 'Kansas City has certainly made a name for itself in the global sports landscape, and we are proud to showcase our town and our team on the international stage.'
The Chiefs already had rights in Mexico, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Only the Los Angeles Rams, who have rights in Australia, where it will host the first NFL game Down Under in 2026; China; Japan; South Korea; Mexico; New Zealand and United Arab Emirates, can match the Chiefs with seven countries.
The Rams had six before just adding the United Arab Emirates.
Twenty-nine NFL clubs will participate in the global marketing rights program across 21 international countries.
NFL clubs can apply for those rights to international markets by submitting proposals to the International Committee for review each spring. Clubs are then awarded rights for a five-year term.
During that five-year period, teams — like the Chiefs and Rams — can pursue activities in these international markets, which are consistent with what they can do in their home domestic market.
The Chiefs, who were scheduled to play the Rams in Mexico in 2018 before turf issues arose, plan to host events in their new international markets to engage fans locally, unveil language-specific properties on their website and app, launch advertising campaigns, sign local sponsorship deals, extend existing domestic sponsors internationally and align with local agencies with on-the-ground expertise.
The Chiefs already have launched those kinds of initiatives in Germany, where it played in 2023. That's one reason why the Chiefs — along with the New England Patriots — had cemented themselves as Germany's favorite NFL teams.
'It's probably the Chiefs right now, but it's a close race,' NFL Germany general manager Alexander Steinforth said in 2023. 'They are probably No. 1 and No. 2.'
The Chiefs creatively marketed themselves in Germany, including having former soccer player Oliver Bierhoff officially announce the Chiefs' fourth-round selection of Joshua Williams from a 2022 Chiefs draft party; partnering with global sports marketing agency SPORTFIVE; organizing watch parties; becoming an official partner with RTL, which broadcasts live games, and even docking their ChampionShip boat on the Main River of Frankfurt.
'We've been one of the most aggressive international teams in the league,' Chiefs president Mark Donovan said during the week of Super Bowl LIX.
Each of the Chiefs' newest international markets — United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain — will host an NFL regular-season games in 2025, and the Chiefs could play there in the future.
'We'd love to be overseas again,' Donovan said. 'Anywhere in Europe really is where we'd like to go.'

Reports: Thomas Frank to become new Tottenham Hotspur head coach
After firing Ange Postecoglou it appears Tottenham Hotspur will act very quickly to replace him as multiple reports claim Thomas Frank will become Spurs' new head coach. Reports from The Athletic, Fabrizio Romano and the BBC all claim that Spurs will pay the $13.5 million Brentford want in compensation for their talented manager. The reports also state that personal terms have been agreed and Spurs are expecting to seal the deal for Frank in the next 48 hours. Is this a good fit for Thomas Frank and Spurs? There is no current manager in the Premier League that is more deserving of a chance at a big club playing in the Champions League than Thomas Frank. He's earned this. The Danish coach has brought Brentford up from the Championship with a modest budget and for the last four seasons he's worked wonders to not only keep them in the Premier League but flourish. Frank has improved players such as Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, and countless others, building a dynamic, exciting and robust team. That is exactly the kind of team Spurs want. If Frank is their new manager Spurs will still be as stylish as they were under Postecoglou but they will have more substance and bite. Frank is a demanding but likable character and it will be intriguing to see how many of his stars at Brentford follow him to Spurs. For him the chance to coach in the Champions League at a huge club like Spurs is too good to turn down and he deserves this chance at one of the Premier League's 'big six' clubs. Now it's all about two things: 1) can he keep on overachieving and 2) will he be given several years to build this project at Spurs.

'Difficult' but 'right' decision to leave
Liam Manning has said it was "difficult" to leave Bristol City but that the "ambition" and "direction" at Norwich City was too good to turn down. Manning confirmed his departure last week after 18 months at the club, having led the Robins to the Championship play-offs this season for the first time in 17 years. Advertisement During his time at Ashton Gate, Manning took leave of absence in October 2024 following the death of his baby son Theo. "Any move you make in this game is difficult, so in terms of the 18 months I had there it was successful and obviously a challenging time personally which creates a a level of affiliation and empathy with the people there," Manning told BBC Radio Norfolk during his first press conference as Canaries boss. "But when we had the discussions (at Norwich) of what it looks like and the direction - knowing the club and the fanbase and the ambition here, it matches with me extremely well so it was a difficult decision but I'm sure it's the right one."

Lesser-mentioned Ravens star lands on CBS Sports list of 2025 breakout stars
Lesser-mentioned Ravens star lands on CBS Sports list of 2025 breakout stars Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell earns national spotlight in new NFL prediction from CBS Sports It's too early to make predictions. It's only June, but even though the mind says 'don't get excited', the heart, more often than not, refuses to listen. This Baltimore Ravens team looks good on paper, and even though games aren't played on looseleaf, every glance at the roster produces adrenaline. This team sent 11 of its players to the Pro Bowl last season. All of them are back. DeAndre Hopkins was added during free agency. Malaki Starks and Mike Green were drafted. The new faces have an opportunity to add more punch to an already formidable roster. Then again, so do some of the guys who have already been here. May we present Keaton Mitchell for your consideration? CBS Sports names Keaton Mitchell as a player to watch Mention the Ravens and why they are a Super Bowl contender, and several names may come up before a backup running back. Keaton Mitchell was added to Baltimore's roster as an undrafted rookie free agent. Pro Football Focus named him as one of the NFL's best UDFA prospects during that offseason. CBS Sports recently named him as an under-the-radar player to watch in their dig on one player from each team who could make a surprising impact. Tyler Sullivan wrote this one up and did a great job. Here's some of his reasoning for mentioning Mitchell as the Ravens representative. "For a six-week stretch during the 2023 season, Mitchell was a lightning rod. The back averaged 8.4 yards per rush and 10.5 yards per reception. However, that run ended when he suffered a torn ACL that also put a dent in his 2024 campaign. Now, Mitchell is back healthy and noted recently that he feels 'like I'm back better than when I first got to Baltimore'. Of course, Derrick Henry will carry the bulk of the work out of the Ravens' backfield, but Mitchell could prove to be a change-of-pace option with home run ability for what is already one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL." Henry and Mitchell could provide some 'thunder and lightning'. The latter is no stranger to adversity or this Ravens offense. An undrafted rookie free agent selected after the 2023 NFL Draft, Pro Football Focus named him as one of the best UDFAs taken that offseason, but two days after making the 53-man roster, he found his way to the injured reserve. He returned in Week 6 and appeared in eight games with two starts before seeing his season end with a torn ACL. He began last season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list but was activated for Week 10. For his career, he has notched 426 yards and two TDs on 62 carries. Keep an eye on him as the Ravens begin another run, and expect some big moments because even though the opportunities will be limited, he'll be able to deliver a few.
