However, her signature red hair has remained.

Joy Reid says ‘mediocre white men' like Trump, Elvis steal culture from other races

Advertisement Former MSNBC anchor Joy Reid condemned President Donald Trump, Elvis Presley and others on Friday as some of history's many 'mediocre White men' whose achievements are stolen or counterfeit. Reid criticized Trump's review of the Smithsonian during an interview with Wajahat Ali for his 'The Left Hook' substack, in an episode titled, 'How Mediocre White Men and Their Fragility Are Destroying America.' They argued that across America's institutions, there is a phenomenon of 'mediocre White men' with no actual culture of their own who co-opt the achievements of Black people to aggrandize themselves. Ali opened the episode by talking about Trump reforming the Kennedy Center in what his critics call a hostile takeover. The institution, which in recent years had featured drag queen performances, is now being reformed to show decidedly more conservative and pro-American content. Advertisement Trump announced this year's Kennedy Center awards last week, which he will also be hosting. 3 Reid made the comments on Wajahat Ali's 'The Left Hook' substack. 'These people cannot create culture on their own,' Ali said. 'Without Black people, Brown people, the DEIs, there's no culture in America. We make the food better. We make the economy better. We make the music better. Right? MAGA can't create culture. They got Cracker Barrel and Kid Rock.' Reid and Ali claimed that White conservatives practice their own variant of outrage culture where they complain about what they say. 'They don't have the intellectual rigor to actually argue or debate with us, right? And what they do is they tattle and tell. They run and tell teacher that 'the Black lady or the Brown man was mean to me.' And that's what they always do,' Reid said. Advertisement Reid, who initially wore a hat dedicated to the historically debatable 1619 Project, then changed to one with the letters 'FDT,' took special umbrage at Trump's efforts to review the Smithsonian's historical exhibits ahead of America's 250th anniversary. 3 United States President Donald J Trump speaks during a Multilateral Meeting with European Leaders in the East Room of the White House in Washington, DC, USA, 18 August 2025. AARON SCHWARTZ/POOL/EPA/Shutterstock 'They can't fix the history they did. Their ancestors made this country into a slave — a slave hell, but they can clean it up now because they got the Smithsonian. They can get rid of all the slavery stuff,' she said. 'They got PragerU that can lie about the history to the children. They can't originally invent anything more than they ever were able to invent good music. 'We Black folk gave y'all country music, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, rock and roll. They couldn't even invent that, but they have to call a White man 'The King.' Because they couldn't make rock and roll, so they have to stamp 'The King' on a man whose main song was stolen from an overweight Black woman,' Reid continued. Advertisement Reid was referring to 'The King' Elvis Presley singing 'Hound Dog,' which was first recorded by Big Mama Thornton, a Black blues singer, and written by two Jewish-American songwriters. Elvis' version, which was more upbeat, with a faster rhythm and slightly altered lyrics, boosted his rise to fame in 1956 after his previous breakout hit, 'Heartbreak Hotel' earlier that year. 3 Rock and roll musician Elvis Presley performing on the Elvis comeback TV special on June 27, 1968. 'Joyless Reid is an ungrateful hack who fails to acknowledge her privilege. Whatever remains of her success would only be possible in the United States of America, the same country she degrades for sport. She was too unhinged for MSNBC and was fired. Instead of changing her act, she's doubled down on stupid,' he said. Fox News Digital reached out to PragerU and did not receive an immediate reply.

‘Hot Ones' Host Sean Evans Reveals the 1 Celebrity He'd Love to Have on the Show (Exclusive)

'Hot Ones' Host Sean Evans Reveals the 1 Celebrity He'd Love to Have on the Show (Exclusive) originally appeared on Parade. Sean Evans has interviewed some of the biggest names in the industry on his wildly popular YouTube series Hot Ones, but there's one particular A-lister he's dying to have on the show. Evans, 39, opened up about the topic while chatting exclusively with Parade about his ongoing partnership with Stella Artois ahead of Hot Ones' first live event, which will give one lucky fan an opportunity to join Evans onstage for a moment during the fiery challenge. 🎬SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 'Tom Cruise,' he says of who he'd love to interview. 'I'm like, 'This guy — I got to get him on the show at some point.' We've caught so many white whales over the years that you catch one, and it just makes another one for you. But that is a peak that I'm kind of looking at: the Tom Cruise Peak. That's one that I'm trying to climb, but [it 's] a tough nut to crack.' As for who out of the hundreds of celebrities he's interviewed has surprised him the most, Evans tells Parade that there's someone every season that 'shocks' him with how they handle the hot wings. 'Every season, there's a guest that sort of floats into the room, maybe they're nervous, and then they sit down there, and they handle the wings better than I do in recent seasons,' he explains. 'Ariana Grande comes to mind, Demi Moore comes to mind. We used to kind of bet on how we thought people would do going in, and then we stopped doing that because everybody is totally different.' He continues: 'You'll go in with a game plan, but it's always subverted by the time it gets to the third or fourth wing. So that's what I think is so amazing about the show. It's a uniquely singular experience — every single interview. And in many ways, surprising. So every season somebody comes in, and you can do all the research and watch all this stuff and do the armchair psychology, but once you actually get in the room and the wings start flying off the table, then it's a book that writes its own story every single episode.' As for the Hot Ones live show — which is presented by Stella Artois and First We Feast, and also marks 10 years of the fiery celeb interview series — Evans tells Parade that he's excited to 'bridge the gap between the show and the audience.' He continues: 'I think Hot Ones is a show that's kind of unique, and when you're watching it, you do want to participate in it. You do wonder, 'Oh, there's Bad Bunny sweating out this wing. I wonder if I'd have the same reaction.' But this is an event that kind of fills in the room. You get that kind of communal experience where you're both watching and experiencing the show, but also living it in a lot of ways.' The one-night only event, which takes place on Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, will feature special celebrity guests and limited-edition food collabs with iconic L.A. staples, including Randy's Donuts and Wanderlust Creamery. Starting Aug. 19 through Sept. 30 at select locations, Randy's Donuts will offer the Glaze of Glory, a spicy glazed donut mixed with Hot Ones Rojo Hot Sauce and topped with a Rojo spicy butter crumb. Additionally, Wanderlust Creamery will offer their limited edition Sweet Verde Heat flavor, which features shards of yuzu chocolate infused with Hot Ones' Los Calientes Verde and shichimi togarashi. Hot Ones and Stella Artois are also offering fans the chance to join Hot Ones Live by submitting a celebratory toast via Stella Artois' Instagram. Fans can comment on the official call-for-entries posts with a toast celebrating 10 years of Hot Ones, along with the required hashtags. Three finalists will receive tickets to attend the show, and one grand-prize winner will take the spotlight and join Sean on stage for a moment during the fiery challenge. The Royal at the Center of Prince Harry and Prince William's Fallout: Author

The Royal at the Center of Prince Harry and Prince William's Fallout: Author originally appeared on Parade. Five years after Prince Harry stepped away from royal life to settle in California, his fallout with Prince William shows no signs of fading. According to a royal author, one particular royal remains at the heart of the ongoing drama. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of the book My Mother and I: The Inside Story of the King and Our Late Queen, shared her thoughts on the ongoing drama between the brothers with Fox News Digital. She cited one royal family member at the center of the conflict, claiming that William is aware how they appear to be viewed by royal supporters. "The flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan," Seward claimed. "She's disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very… damaging to the royal family." "Also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They don't like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husband's family and dissed her own family." Parade Daily🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 The author added she believes it's "extraordinary" that Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, has not yet met his grandchildren. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are 6 and 4 years old. "I think people in the States find that extremely odd, and [we] find it very odd here," Seaward continued. "And I think that's a real black mark against Meghan's character." "I think she hasn't been able to embrace… her own family, however much she feels about them. I mean, Harry's never even met her father, which is extraordinary." Prince Harry and Prince William have been estranged for the better part of five years. In 2020, citing safety and intrusion into their public life, Harry and Meghan left their full-time royal roles and moved to the United States. This move was compounded by the couple's public remarks about their exit. They each gave detailed interviews about royal life, shedding a negative light on the monarchy. As the future monarch, William's role is to uphold its image. Therefore, Harry and Meghan's negativity toward the House of Windsor was one of several reasons he cut ties with the couple. The brothers were publicly seen at the same event during King Charles' coronation in 2023. Harry attended with other royal family members while William held a role as his father's liege man, publicly declaring he would "pledge loyalty to [Charles] and faith and truth I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God."
