Op Sindoor a 'Vijay Utsav', says PM Modi, calls for a unified celebration of Indian Armed Forces
Addressing the media ahead of the Monsoon Session of the Parliament, PM Modi hailed Operation Sindoor, and said, "This Monsoon Session is a 'Vijay Utsav'. The entire world has seen the strength of the Indian Armed Forces. The aim that the forces had established for the Operation Sindoor was 100 per cent achieved. The terrorists were neutralised right in their homes, within just 22 minutes, the operation brought them to the ground."
"I announced it at an event in Bihar, and our Indian Armed Forces demonstrated their strength during this operation. The concept of 'Made in India', which represents a new facet of India's military power, has also captured global attention. Whenever I meet people from various countries, I notice a growing interest in Made in India weapons," he said.
Expressing hope to discuss the success of Operation Sindoor in Parliament, PM Modi said, "When the House expresses its sentiments of victory of this 'Vijay Utsav' in one unified voice during this session, it will strengthen India's military power, encourage, inspire the countrymen of the country and give momentum to research, innovation and manufacturing in the defence sector, which in turn will gengerate employement opportunities for the youth."
Recalling Indian astronaut Subhanshu Shukla's recent endeavour to the International Space Station, the Prime Minister said, "This Monsoon Session is a moment of immense pride for the nation. It symbolises a true celebration of victory for the country. And when I say this session is a celebration of national pride and triumph, I must highlight one of the most remarkable moments, the Indian Tricolour being unfurled for the first time at the International Space Station."
"This is a proud moment for every Indian. This successful journey has ignited excitement and enthusiasm for science, technology, and innovation among the youth. All parliamentarians and citizens of India will come together with enthusiasm to celebrate the remarkable achievements that have reached new heights in space," he added.
The Prime Minister also called the monsoon "a symbol of renewal and rejuvenation" and said that the weather across the country is "progressing very positively".
"The reports indicate that the monsoon is favourable for agriculture, which in turn benefits the farmers' economy, the national economy and the rural economy," he said.

The district administration has also increased monitoring of the preparations being made for the PM Modi's public meeting at Kalikadham in Sevapuri area. On Monday evening, district magistrate Satyendra took stock of the progress in the work, including levelling of fields, stage construction, parking, and the helipad area. He asked that all link roads leading to the public meeting venue must be repaired. The officials started work after seeking no-objection from the owners of fields selected for the public meeting venue. Bharatiya Janata Party functionaries, who took stock of the area on Sunday evening, started holding meetings to assign the responsibilities for different works, including mobilising people for their participation and other arrangements, said BJP Kashi regional unit president Dilip Patel.

HC to hear PIL seeking NRC in Bengal
A PIL has been filed in Calcutta High Court, seeking the implementation of NRC in Bengal and the issuance of national identity cards to distinguish Indian citizens from alleged illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, particularly in 10 border districts. The petition, filed by Paramita Dey, cites the NRC exercise in Assam conducted under Supreme Court supervision in 2014. A division bench of justices Sujoy Paul and Smita Das De is likely to hear the matter on July 29. The bench has asked the state to clarify whether any similar PIL has been filed.

TRF's terror tag bolsters India's case
The designation of The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as a global terrorist organisation by the United States is a victory for India and a vindication of New Delhi's position on cross-border terrorism. It is significant in view of India's contention that the organisation was behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack. .TRF twice claimed responsibility for the attack though it later denied involvement, probably under pressure from its handlers across the border. India has mounted persistent diplomatic pressure on the US and other countries to recognise the existence of the terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan which is directed against India. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that TRF had claimed responsibility also for other attacks, against Indian security forces. But it will be noted that Rubio did not name Pakistan, where the LeT is US has described TRF as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO) and a front for the LeT. The LeT and Jaish-e-Mohammad have been marked for involvement in terrorist activities directed against India. Both organisations have been in the US FTO list from 2001. Pakistan has denied their existence while India has contended that both are active in that country. .India should continue its efforts to get TRF named as a terrorist outfit in the UN Security Council records. The UNSC resolution on the Pahalgam attack avoided mentioning TRF, under Pakistan's and China's pressure. The US designation will hopefully make the process easier, though Pakistan and China will continue to oppose it. The Ministry of External Affairs has welcomed the US decision and noted that it reflects the cooperation between India and the US on counter-terrorism. Earlier this year, the US had extradited Tahawwur Rana who was part of the conspiracy behind the 2008 Mumbai the US may have sent a positive signal to India with its stance on TRF, its position is not without contradictions. It has not fully accepted India's position on the Pahalgam attack and Pakistan's role in promoting terrorism in the country. Washington has played host to Pakistan's army and air force chiefs in recent weeks and sought to equate Pakistan with India. .The US and most other countries have the tendency to look at terrorism through the prism of their national interest and geopolitical considerations. India will have to initiate stronger diplomatic efforts to make its case fully heard and accepted. It will also not go unnoticed that the terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack are yet to be arrested.
