Hedley Studios reveals scale replica of classic Bentley Blower racer
'Hedley Studios has reimagined a car that sits at the very heart of Bentley's history and heritage, with extraordinary attention to detail and craftsmanship. The Blower Jnr may be smaller in scale, but its presence, performance and sense of occasion invoke the spirit of the original,' says Mike Sayer, head of product communications and the Bentley Heritage Collection for Bentley Motors.
The price is about £90,000 (R2.15m).

Bentley's Mulliner division expands personal commissioning options
Bentley has broadened the scope of its Mulliner Personal Commissioning Guide, offering a wider range of custom interior finishes for the Continental GT, Flying Spur and Bentayga. A key highlight is the addition of new open-pore wood veneers, which feature a light matt lacquer said to use 90% less coating than traditional high-gloss finishes. This allows the natural grain and texture of the wood to remain visible and tactile. Veneer options include richly figured woods such as Vavona and Liquid Amber, the latter offering a more contemporary aesthetic. For customers looking for a modern twist, Bentley now offers carbon fibre veneers in four new colours: Damson, Kingfisher Blue, Imperial Blue and Cumbrian Green. Alternatively, the brand's Piano Gloss veneers can be colour-matched to more than 100 paint and leather shades across Bentley's standard, extended and Mulliner-exclusive palettes. Mulliner also offers the option of a hand-painted pinstripe along the fascia and door waist rails, which can be colour-matched to either the exterior paint or interior hide. The front centre console receives similar treatment, with new pinstriped veneer options available in open-pore wood or painted finishes — in either a straight or chevron pattern. Bentley says the design is inspired by the teak decking seen on luxury yachts. Another new addition is a technical finish called Wave. Made from metal, it features a pattern of interlaced ribbons that create a shimmering effect as light moves across it. Audiophiles selecting the optional Bang & Olufsen for Bentley sound system can now choose from eight anodised speaker grille highlight colours, including new shades like Kingfisher, Pillar Box Red and Mandarin. In a nod to classic Bentley design, the brand now also offers 18k gold 'organ stop' air vent controls with a finely knurled texture. Finally, Mulliner has introduced the option of Tweed fabric for door inserts, available in five patterns: Cheltenham, Glen Plaid, Charcoal Herringbone, Sand Herringbone and Damson.

New Bentley EXP 15 hints at the brand's luxurious electric future
Bentley has unveiled a striking ultraluxury electric concept car with three seats and an interior that artfully blends mechanical and digital elements. Revealed at Bentley's new design studio in Crewe, England, the EXP 15 is not intended for production but hints at the British brand's future styling direction. The EXP 15 takes inspiration from Bentley's early 20th century grand tourer heritage and interprets it in a modern way. The concept car has an iconic upright grille, long 'endless' bonnet and rearward cabin reminiscent of the 1930 Bentley Speed Six Gurney Nutting Sportsman coupé, often known as the 'Blue Train'. This famous Bentley was used by then-company chair Woolf Barnato to beat a luxury express train (Le Train Bleu) in a race from Cannes to Calais in France. The concept has modern exterior surfacing, hi-tech lighting and active aerodynamic elements. Its big party trick, however, is it has three seats and three doors to provide extra legroom for the special few and has in-cabin storage for pets and hand luggage. 'Twin coach doors and part of the panoramic roof open upwards on the passenger side to allow smoother entry and exit via a passenger side seat that can swivel 45° outwards. This allows passengers to disembark with dignity for that perfect Instagram shot,' according to Darren Day, Bentley's head of interior design. 'If you look at the car we built for Her Majesty the Queen, it was designed around the aperture of the door and 'the art of arrival'. It was important for us to create that feeling here, too,' said Day. Image: Supplied The three-position passenger seat can be moved forward next to the driver in Co-pilot mode, slid back to the rear seat or reclined for Relax mode. When the car is parked, the boot space can be used as upmarket picnic seating. Under the large rear hatch are two small seats that can deploy with a fridge stocked with cold drinks, which can slide back from the rear seats for luxury tailgate parties. The cabin mixes physical features with futuristic digital elements that can be brought to the fore or melt away into the background. This includes an update of Bentley's Rotating Dashboard, which can reveal an infotainment screen or rotate back to a solid dashboard surface. The boot can be transformed into a seating area. Image: Supplied The EXP 15's full-width dashboard can act as a digital interface for infotainment or switch off to reveal a veneered wood surface visible underneath the glass. Also mounted behind the screen is a clock-like device with multiple movable and illuminated fingers — which Bentley refers to as the 'Mechanical Marvel' as it can indicate the car's direction of travel, the state of its electric charge and much more — or just be a centrepiece to look upon. Robin Page, Bentley director of design, said: 'We think people are going to get fed up with a fully digital experience and are pining for physical mechanical elements. By combining the two, you can get the best of both worlds. It's almost like wearing a beautiful mechanical watch on one wrist and a digital watch on the other. Page added that the concept car positioned the brand's new design language and also tested where the market was going. 'It's clear that SUVs are a growing segment and we understand the GT market — through four generations of the Continental GT — but the trickiest segment is the sedan, because it's changing. Some customers want a classic 'three-box' sedan shape, others a 'one-box' design and others again something more elevated. So this was a chance for us to talk to people and get a feeling.' EXP 15 is conceived as having a fully electric, all-wheel drive powertrain with a long range and quick recharging speeds, but Bentley gave no further technical details.

South Africa's Jordan Pepper claims 1st Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters win
The son of former South African Touring Car driver Iain, Edenvale-born Jordan Pepper, is enjoying a purple patch in his racing career. A former winner of the Bathurst 12 Hour with Bentley and the GTWC America Championship, Pepper's current contract with TGI Lamborghini Team by GRT sees him competing in both the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) and selected endurance-racing events, in a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2. Sharing a car with Luca Engstler and Mirko Bortolotti, Pepper's impressive current form saw him claim victory at the 2025 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on June 29. Buoyed by this success, the former VW Polo Cup and 2014 VW Scirocco Cup champion arrived at the fourth round of this year's DTM Championship, held at the Norisring street circuit in Nuremberg, Germany, filled with confidence. Starting Race 1 from pole position, Pepper's impressive early-race pace came in handy after a slow mandatory pit stop threatened to scupper the team's efforts. With his proud father in attendance and family, including his sister, Tasmin, herself an accomplished racing driver, watching from home, Jordan held off Thomas Preining and Maro Engel to claim his maiden DTM victory. 'What an unbelievably emotional moment for me,' Pepper said. 'I am incredibly proud and still cannot really believe it. The final laps seemed to last forever. However, I gave it my all and remained focused right through to the finish.' Significantly, the win vaulted Pepper into second place in the 2025 DTM Driver's Championship, behind Lucas Auer, who drives for Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf. As a reminder, Pepper's compatriot and fellow former VW Polo Cup driver, Sheldon van der Merwe, became the first South African to win the DTM Driver's title, claiming the 2012 title with BMW.
