Predicting if Sixers can advance out of group play in upcoming NBA Cup
The Sixers are placed in Group B alongside the Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, and Brooklyn Nets. With the NBA Cup schedule now released, now is the time to give an early prediction game-by-game and see if there's a path for Philadelphia to advance and get to Vegas for the semis and championship game.
Here is a game-by-game NBA Cup schedule prediction for the Sixers:
October 31: vs. Celtics
This is an opportunity for Philadelphia to get off on the right foot. The Sixers will be at home, there is hope they will have their stars, and the Celtics will be a much different looking group when considering Jayson Tatum is out for the season and they had to make a lot of changes. Yes, the Cs will still have Jaylen Brown and Derrick White, and new addition Anfernee Simons will make a difference, but the Sixers should win this game if their guys are back.
Prediction: Sixers win
November 14: @ Pistons
This one will be a real challenge. The Pistons are no longer a pushover as rising star Cade Cunningham leads them, with the return of Jaden Ivey from injury, and key veteran Tobias Harris. The Pistons will be tough and the Sixers will need to hope Joel Embiid will be healthy for this one to combat the size of Jalen Duren in the post for Detroit. This one will be a toss up as the Sixers deal with a road challenge:
Prediction: Sixers win
November 25: vs. Magic
Even if the Sixers are healthy, this will be a challenging one for Philadelphia. The Magic feature a lot of size with Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Jonathan Isaac, and players of that ilk. Orlando has a new scoring guard it can turn to in the form of Desmond Bane so the Magic will likely take this one.
Prediction: Magic win
November 28: @ Nets
The Nets are another group that will be looking brand new. They lost D'Angelo Russell in free agency and acquired Michael Porter Jr. in a deal with the Denver Nuggets while also adding a slew of rookies led by lottery pick Egor Demin. The Sixers dropped a couple of games to the Nets in the 2024-25 season, but Philadelphia should pick up another win here and advance to the knockout rounds. As a reminder, they can advance either as the winner of the group or through a wild card spot.
Prediction: Sixers win

'Stick to the…Playbook' Amazon Stock (NASDAQ:AMZN) Gains on Familiar Prime Day Plans
It seems like we only just recovered from the last Prime Day, but online retail giant Amazon (AMZN) is already gearing up for a new Prime Day to come this October. And new reports say that this Prime Day will look a lot like the earlier ones, with a two-day format. Investors were reasonably pleased, and piled in accordingly, sending shares surging up nearly 3% in Thursday afternoon's trading. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Unlock powerful investing tools, advanced data, and expert analyst insights to help you invest with confidence. Back in July, Amazon decided to try a longer Prime Day. But the plan did not seem to stick, as when Amazon rolls out Prime Big Deal Days this October, the two-day format will be back in play. Amazon has not officially announced this yet, but multiple reports say that the big sale will drop back to two days instead of the longer format tested in July. The official dates of the sale have also not been announced yet, but as we get closer to October, that will almost certainly be revealed. But we also know that the four-day run proved to be a success, considered '…bigger than any previous four-day period that included a Prime Day event.' However, in spite of this, other reports suggest that the sales growth for the bigger Prime Day event was '…relatively muted despite the longer timeline.' The NBA on Amazon Meanwhile, Amazon also brought out details about its planned 17-game schedule for NBA Cup action on Prime Video. Prime Video will be showing 10 NBA Cup group games, reports note, as well as the 'knockout rounds.' These will be presented as five double-header matches, running for five straight weeks, starting October 31. For those wondering about the other 50 group games, those will be making their way to a wide range of options. Disney's (DIS) ESPN will handle some of them, while Comcast's (CMCSA) NBC will take others. NBA League Pass will also be involved, and that accounts for the mix, at last report. A full schedule of all games will also be available coming up. Is Amazon a Good Long-Term Investment? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Strong Buy consensus rating on AMZN stock based on 44 Buys and one Hold assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 26.45% rally in its share price over the past year, the average AMZN price target of $265.22 per share implies 14.54% upside potential.

Sixers tease the return of a certain uniform in schedule release video
The 2025-26 season has officially been released as the Philadelphia 76ers will look to bounce back from a disappointing 24-58 season the year before as injuries destroyed the roster. The Sixers will open the season on Oct. 22 with a trip to the TD Garden to face the Boston Celtics. Some highlights from the schedule include two separate 5-game road trips along with a 6-game homestand as the Sixers look to get over the hump led by Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George. A big highlight is the fact that Philadelphia will have 16 back-to-backs which is tied for most in the league. As the Sixers posted their schedule release video, they teased the return of a certain uniform that is beloved by the fan base. The Sixers will be looking to get back on track as there is a great chance to compete and win in an Eastern Conference that is banged up with the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers dealing with devastating injuries. Nats turn a page and start fresh with a taut win over the Phillies
It was as if Dylan Crews never left; as if his oblique had not bothered him across a near-three month stint on the injured list; as if Thursday night was any other night at the park. In a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies, he was back to the player the Washington Nationals hoped he would be when they made him the No. 2 overall pick of the 2023 draft.
