Clue we all missed about Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus' shock romance months after his split from Aussie singer Firerose

Sky News AU21-04-2025

British actress Elizabeth Hurley and American country star Billy Ray Cyrus surprised fans this week by going public with their unexpected new romance- but eagle-eyed followers have now uncovered a major clue she dropped weeks earlier.
On Monday, Hurley, 59, and Cyrus, 63, posted a joint photo on Instagram, kissing in matching blue shirts and aviator sunglasses, with Billy Ray donning bunny ears.
"Happy Easter," the caption read, confirming their relationship in a sweet seasonal reveal.
But fans now believe the Austin Powers star had been dropping hints for weeks, most notably in a sultry Instagram video of herself in a bikini, filmed in the Maldives and soundtracked by Cyrus' 1993 hit She's Not Cryin' Anymore.
"The most glorious sunset in the glorious Maldives," Hurley wrote in the caption, sparking speculation.
"I love that you used this song as your own private message to your new love, that's why you are glowing!!" one fan commented.
Another added: "The song makes more sense now!"
While it's unclear exactly when the pair became an item, the couple are believed to have met in 2022 on the Caribbean island of Nevis while filming Christmas in Paradise together.
"They had a great time shooting that movie together- it was beautiful and relaxed, and it really stuck with him," a source close to Cyrus told People.
At the time, Cyrus had recently ended his 28-year marriage to Tish Cyrus and begun dating Australian singer-songwriter Johanna Rose Hodges, better known as Firerose.
The pair first crossed paths on the set of Hannah Montana in 2010, the hit Disney series that catapulted Billy Ray's daughter, Miley, to global fame.
At the time, Firerose was just 22 years old and leaving an audition for a role on the show when she bumped into Cyrus, who was nearing 49, as he walked his dog on set.
"On that given day, Firerose came out of the front door. There was almost a moment of, I don't know, recognition. I was like, 'This girl's a star'," Cyrus recalled in a 2022 interview with People.
The couple married in October 2023, but their union was short-lived.
In May 2024, Billy Ray filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct, and also sought an annulment on the grounds of fraud.
Firerose later accused the singer of abuse.
"When I think about what I just went through, I would have told my 22-year-old self to run in the opposite direction and never look back," she told Stellar Magazine in October 2024.
Now, less than a year later, Cyrus appears to have found happiness again with Hurley, who was previously engaged to late Australian cricketing legend Shane Warne.
"...They've been seeing each other romantically for a little bit," the source said.
"And how lucky is he? Liz is lovely. She's very warm, positive and the best to be around."

Sabrina Carpenter shocks fans with Man's Best Friend album artwork

Sabrina Carpenter will release the album Man's Best Friend on August 29. The prolific pop star is set to release the follow-up to Short n' Sweet almost exactly a year later. Sabrina shocked fans by standing on all fours in front of a man pulling her hair on the racy artwork, with the cover dividing opinion. However, one fan defending the Espresso hitmaker suggested she was poking fun at the fact people said "she's for the male gaze". They wrote on X: "I've already seen enough so i gotta explain this cover cuz apparently y'all are acting dense: 'Man's Best Friend' is a phrase referring to a DOG. Sabrina is obviously portraying it on the cover referring to how all of you said she's for the "male gaze'. this is how YOU see her. (sic)" The album will include the lead single, Manchild, which upon its release, Sabrina thanked "men for testing me". The 26-year-old singer explained that Manchild - which she co-wrote with Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen - is "the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life." She penned on Instagram upon the song's release: "i wrote manchild on a random tuesday with amy and jack not too long after finishing short n' sweet and it ended up being the best random tuesday of my life "not only was it so fun to write, but this song became to me something I can look back on that will score the mental montage to the very confusing and fun young adult years of life. "it sounds like the song embodiment of a loving eye roll and it feels like a never ending road trip in the summer ! hence why i wanted to give it to you now- so you can stick your head out the car window and scream it all summer long! "thank you always and forever for listening and thank you men for testing me! (sic)" There has been much speculation about which of her exes the song is about, with Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan's name mentioned a lot. Sabrina's Grammy-winning Short n' Sweet album was followed by February's deluxe edition, which featured a duet of Please Please Please with Dolly Parton and a new song called Busy Woman.

Nick Kyrgios unveils dramatic new look, opens up on split with Costeen Hatzi

Nick Kyrgios has shown off a dramatic new look and finally commented on the end of his four-year relationship with influencer Costeen Hatzi. Kyrgios, who turned 30 on April 27, and Hatzi ended their relationship in March this year. The Australian, whose tennis career has been blighted by significant injuries over the past three years, took to Instagram over the last 24 hours for a Q and A session with his 4.1 million followers. Using the caption 'Don't hold back, ask whatever', Kyrgios was hit with a wide range of questions and chose to respond to a number of them using Instagram stories. Among queries about his tennis career and his advice for others, the Canberran was also asked a question by someone who has been following his styling trends. 'How's 30 treating you so far and when are you debuting the new haircut?' was one of the questions. Kyrgios replied with a video of him driving and the caption: '30 is unreal – not even in my prime yet. And shaved heads is UNREAL.' You can see the new look in the video below. Cracks had appeared in Kyrgios and Hatzi's relationship earlier this year. In a telling sign in this day and age, they both removed each other from their Instagram bios before Hatzi broke her silence on the rumours in April. 'It's been great,' Hatzi told The Daily Telegraph when asked about her life since the romance ended. 'I'm still going on with work and I have a few different brands that I'm working with at the moment.' She went on to insist that it's important to 'put yourself first' in life. Naturally, Kyrgios – who has stayed quiet about the details of the separation – was also asked about Hatzi during his fan session. 'Will you ever talk on the split with C or keeping it private?' was one question. He said: 'Things happen. I wish her nothing but the best. So many incredible memories that will stay with me.' Kyrgios was also asked what he thought of another former partner, tennis player Anna Kalinskaya, who later had a relationship with current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner which ended in May. Kyrgios called her an 'amazing tennis player' before mentioning a sports management company. Earlier this month, Kyrgios got tongues wagging after a public display with a woman being called a Hatzi 'look-alike'. Kyrgios began chatting with former Love Island reality TV contestant Mia Dalkos. It has not gone unnoticed that Dalkos, whose real name is Efthimia, has unmistakably similar features to the woman Kyrgios recently broke up with. Kyrgios and popular fashion designer Dalkos caused a stir with flirty recent social media engagements. Dalkos captured Kyrgios' attention on Instagram when she shared a video of herself glammed up at a hair salon. Kyrgios commented on the post by sharing a 'double eyes' emoji — a less than subtle way of showing Dalkos that he was interested in the post. The 23-year-old South Australian responded to the former Wimbledon finalist by posting a shy smiling emoji of her own. The 30-year-old Canberran followed up his first message by posting a blunt 'Beautiful' comment on a second photo Dalkos shared the following day. Kyrgios was also in the news in the past week after it emerged he had been axed from a commentary role with the BBC. Reports first landed on Wednesday morning this week the Australian tennis star has been told his services will not be required when the network begins its coverage of Wimbledon, beginning June 30. It comes after his appointment to the broadcaster's team for the event last year sparked uproar. In another body blow, The Telegraph reports Kyrgios will also not appear during ESPN's coverage of the tournament, despite working with the American broadcaster during the Australian Open in 2024 and 2025. It has been a brutal few weeks for the 30-year-old after he was last month forced to pull out of his plans to play doubles with partner Jordan Thompson at the French Open. Citing a recently flared up knee injury, Kyrgios was forced to pull out on the eve of the event and he last week confirmed he will not play at Wimbledon this year because of injuries.
