Post offices functioning in the Tambaram postal division will not carry out any transactions on August 4. This is to enable a seamless transition to 'Advanced postal technology 2.0', an advanced digital platform to be rolled out on August 5.
A press release said the upgraded system will be implemented in all post offices in the Tambaram division as the Department of Posts has announced the roll out of the new application. The planned downtime will facilitate data migration and configuration processes and ensure smooth operation when the system is operated on August 5.
The APT application is designed to offer an enhanced user experience, faster service delivery, and a more customer-friendly interface. Postal customers have been asked to plan their visit to post offices in advance, the release said.
