Teacher dies on way home to Temerloh from Jerantut school after her Myzi crashes into lorry, injuring three
Maran police chief Supt Wong Kim Wai said the victim, Nurfarah Izyan Ismail, 28, who taught at Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Basriah in Jerantut, died at the scene of the 9.30 am crash.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Nurfarah Izyan was driving a Perodua Myvi home to Sungai Gau, Temerloh, from the school when the accident occurred.
'It is believed that she lost control of her vehicle and veered into the opposite lane before colliding with a lorry carrying four individuals,' he said in a statement today.
He said the 51-year-old driver of the Isuzu lorry sustained a fractured thigh, while two assistants, aged 25 and 43, suffered minor injuries. Another assistant, 53, was unhurt.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama

Tengku Nizaruddin's younger brother, Tengku Abdul Aziz, 30, said they last met at about 2pm yesterday after travelling separately from Johor Bahru to Muar. 'We left Johor Bahru in separate vehicles. I went to a different place, while my brother told me he wanted to go to his friend's workshop in Parit Jawa. 'My family last heard from him at around 4pm, but after that, they couldn't reach him,' he said. He said the workshop owner told him and his sister-in-law that his brother never showed up. 'At first, we thought he was joking as usual, but started to get worried when we couldn't reach him and the vehicle was found not far from where we last met,' he said. Muar police said a search is under way.

Search Continues For Driver Of Car That Plunged Into River In Pagoh
MUAR, July 15 (Bernama) -- The driver of a car, in his 40s, is still missing after the vehicle plunged into Sungai Kampung Tui near the Kampung Kecil bridge along Jalan Bukit Kepong in Pagoh earlier today. Pagoh Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, Senior Fire Officer I Nor Alfatah Omar, said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.22 pm. Seven firefighters from the Pagoh and Muar stations were dispatched to the scene, along with a Light Fire Rescue Tender and a Toyota Hilux 4WD.
