Mumbai considers holding major common entrance tests (CETs) twice a year
The idea is to provide the students an opportunity to improve their scores and rely on more than a single-day exam, said a source. With the computer-based test (CBT) spanning multiple days and the large volume of students taking CETs in the state, the higher and technical education department will need to study the feasibility of conducting the exercise more than once every year.
A govt representative stated that there is too much reliance on a single-day test, which can be unfair for various reasons.
A student might be unwell, under immense pressure, or face an unexpected issue that day. "If something goes wrong, they risk losing an entire academic year. We, therefore, want to see if we can offer students more than one attempt.

However, conducting the CET is a massive exercise that spans several days, and we need exam centres for nearly a month. So, giving students more than one attempt could be challenging, but we are figuring out the logistics.

Indore secures top position in super swachh league, city celebrates presidential award
Indore: Indore on Thursday added another feather to its cap by emerging on top of the list of Super Swachh League cities to be crowned as cleanest city in the country for the eight time in a row. As Indore beat Surat, Navi Mumbai and Vijayawada to secure the victory in SSL category of cities with over 10 lakh population, Indoreans took to the street to voice their joy, bursting crackers, dancing to the tune of dhols and distributing sweets. State minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) commissioner Shivam Verma received the award from President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Indore secured 100% marking in door-to-door garbage collection, waste processing, and cleanliness of residential areas, market areas, water bodies, and public toilets. With zero dumpsites, Indore led the scorecard by securing 98% marking in source segregation, followed by Navi Mumbai with 95%, and Surat and Vijayawada with 92% marking each.
