In a joint operation named "Bottom of Darkness," the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Sharjah Police General Command, working hand-in-hand with the Abu Dhabi Police General Command and with the Federal Anti-Narcotics General Directorate at the Ministry of Interior, achieved a resounding success in thwarting an attempt to distribute over 3,500,000 Captagon pills, totalling approximately 585 kilograms and estimated to have a street value of over Dhs19 million.
The operation was a preemptive strike against the criminal gang whose movements had been under close surveillance.
The gang had endeavoured to employ camouflage tactics in an attempt to conceal the narcotics and evade the authorities.
