After 100-day governance programme, Fadnavis' new challenge for civil servants—a 150-day programme
This 150-day programme, he said, will focus largely on three elements—a roadmap for a fully developed Maharashtra by 2047, 100 percent e-governance when it comes to delivery of services, and service-related administrative reforms.
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is keeping civil servants on their toes. Soon after concluding a 100-day programme for the state government to improve its service delivery and efficiency, Fadnavis Tuesday announced a second 150-day programme for all departments in the state.
'We had implemented a 100-day programme in the state. There were two parts to it, one was improving government offices and the other was implementing new policies. A total of 12,500 state government offices in the state participated in the drive to improve offices. Also, the 48 departments in the government had come up with 902 policy decisions to implement. Of these, 706, or 78 percent, were completed,' the CM told reporters. 'From today, 6 May to 2 October, we are announcing a 150-day programme.'
The CM laid out the basic objectives of the 150-day programme, promising to elaborate more it 7 May when the Mahayuti government will felicitate government officials for implementing the 100-day programme.
Separately, Fadnavis also welcomed the Supreme Court's directions to hold all pending local body elections in four months and said the Mahayuti alliance will contest these polls unitedly.
'At some places there could be a different decision, here and there, which will be taken at the local level. But, by and large Mahayuti will fight these elections as an alliance,' he told reporters.
The Mahayuti comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The new challenge
The new 150-day challenge, the results of which Fadnavis will announce 2 October, will require departments to draw up a phase-wise road map for a fully developed Maharashtra by 2047.
For the first phase, departments will have to chart out an action plan till 2029. The action plan for the second phase will be with the target year of 2035, and finally in the third phase, departments will lay down a roadmap till 2047.
Overall, the state government has also set a target of becoming a trillion-dollar economy by 2028. 'Then, every department will have to implement e governance reforms. People should get 100 percent governance online. Nobody should need to come to government offices physically,' Fadnavis said.
The CM did not give much details on the third aspect of the plan, which involves implementing service-oriented reforms.
The 100-day plan concluded 1 May, for which Fadnavis had engaged the Centre's Quality Council of India to evaluate the performance of departments. The Mahayuti government completed 100 days in office 14 April, but the report was released 1 May.
The Quality Council of India report said, of the 48 departments, 12 had completed 100 percent of the tasks assigned, while 18 had done more than 80 percent of the tasks. The bottom three departments—General Administration Department, Urban Development Department and Food and Civil Supplies Department—were led by the three Mahayuti leaders, CM Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, respectively.

Maharashtra: MNS chief hits out at State Govt over deaths in Mumbai train accident
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India, June 10 (ANI): Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief, Raj Thackeray condoled the loss of life in the Mumbra train accident in Thane, in which atleast 4 people have died, and criticised the Mahayuti-led state government of only focusing on elections instead of real issues of the people. 'The train accident that happened in Mumbai today is unfortunate. Many passengers died in this accident, but similar incidents are happening in Mumbai every day. Passengers are getting injured in Mumbai every day and yet no one is doing anything to help,' the MNS chief said during a press conference on Monday. 'Our entire focus is only on the elections and campaigning. Will Raj Thackeray-Uddhav Thackeray form an alliance? More important than this question are how travel is going in Mumbai today, how people are living in the cities and in the state as a whole,' he added. He further slammed the current and previous state governments for not pushing for Mumbai local trains to have a separate governing corporation for it. 'The demand for a separate corporation for Mumbai Railways has been going on for many years. We had also made this demand, but till date no government has paid any attention to this demand. Today, the planning of cities has completely collapsed. Huge crowds are coming. Big roads, bridges, metros are being built for them. Tall buildings are being allowed, but there is no planning for parking,' he said. Criticising poor city planning, he added, 'Every city has a serious traffic problem. Building new roads and metros is not making any difference, yet no government is thinking about city planning or the influx of people from outside.' Saying that he is shocked with the crowd at railway stations, he questioned the political leaders, including MPs, MLAs and ministers who go abroad, and whether they learn from their trips regarding public transport. 'I myself have travelled by train in Mumbai for a long time. But the situation was a little better then. Now, seeing the crowd at the railway station, I am shocked. These MPs, MLAs, ministers go abroad - do they learn anything from there? If such an incident had happened abroad, how would it have been handled there? We have none. Here, human life has no value,' he said. Earlier on Monday , Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray took a jibe at Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, accusing them of being responsible for the deaths. 'Rail mantri has become a reel mantri. There have been multiple terrible train accidents in the last 2-3 years but no one is coming forward to claim any responsibility. This is solely the responsibility of the railway department and the railway minister... People of India have demanded his resignation multiple times but he carries on.' Multiple passengers travelling towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) fell from a excessive crowded train at Mumbra railway station in Thane district on Monday. The accident occurred on the Down/Fast Line and disrupted local train services, with the reason suspected to be due to excessive crowd on the train. The two estranged cousins, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray have been in talks for a potential alliance ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are to be announced by the Election Commission. BJP minority cell to publicise Operation Sindoor; reach out to Muslims
'The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) minority cell will hold outreach meetings outside religious sites such as dargahs, mosques, madrasas, churches and gurdwaras across the State to publicise the success of Operation Sindoor and welfare schemes for minorities,' a party leader said on Tuesday (June 10, 2025.) 'The party will launch the campaign from tomorrow with distribution of pocket-sized copies of the Constitution to raise awareness among minorities about their rights and duties,' Uttar Pradesh BJP minority cell president Kunwar Basit Ali told PTI. 'Also, conventions under the banner 'Alpsankhyakon ka Paigam, Modi ke Saath Musalman' will be held across all major cities in the State to mark 11 years of the Narendra Modi government,' he said. The first such event will take place on June 12 at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Convention Centre in Lucknow. Mr. Ali said the cell will also conduct a programme, 'Desh ka Paigam, Pratibha ko Samman,' to felicitate madrasa students who have excelled academically. The party will also felicitate relatives of those who died in the line of duty. "It is a significant step towards building trust-based politics with minorities," he said. The party is slated to organise yoga events in 403 madrasas of Uttar Pradesh on International Yoga Day (June 21). Mr. Ali also drew a contrast between former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remark "Muslims have the first claim on resources" and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's view that "the poor have the first right on the country's resources." He said the Sachar Committee had exposed the dire socio-economic condition of Muslims, which remained unaddressed under previous governments. "Despite immense poverty in the Muslim community, Prime Minister Modi has ensured the benefits of his welfare schemes reach them. Muslims constitute about 20% of the population, but they account for nearly 40% of the beneficiaries of government welfare programmes," Mr. Ali said.
