Myrtle Beach police seek witnesses in wake of intense Highway 17 pursuit
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — Myrtle Beach police are asking anyone with video footage or eyewitness accounts of an intense pursuit last week that included suspects firing at authorities from a vehicle in Market Common.
Authorities on Saturday released a map showing a route of the roughly 20-minute chase that started in the 1700 block of South Ocean Boulevard and ended after the vehicle crashed just after 8:30 a.m. on 67th Ave. N.
Riley Pegram, 17, of Brown Summit, North Carolina, was charged with three counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a stolen vehicle and failure to stop for blue lights.
Omarion Glass, 20, of Greensboro, North Carolina, was charged with three counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and use or employment of a person under 18 to commit certain crimes.
Officers at Glass's bond hearing described the scene as 'something out of a movie.'
Christopher White, the lead investigator for the case, said Glass was shooting an AR style rifle during the Thursday incident.
His courtroom behavior that included smiling and laughing drew an angry response from Police Chief Amy Prock.
'This is about much more than just a moment. It is about the danger,' Prock said. 'They caused a mere disregard for human life, and the fact that they don't care. He does not care. 'Laugh all you want . . . it is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Not in Myrtle Beach, not in Horry County, and not in our state.'
Glass, who was denied bond, is due back in court on July 25. Pegram also had his bond denied but News13 was not allowed in the courtroom during those proceedings due to his age.

The suspect accused of injuring over a dozen people after throwing Molotov cocktails into a crowd of peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators last weekend appeared in federal court in Denver Friday to face a federal hate crime charge. Along with a federal hate crime charge, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, faces additional charges in Colorado, including attempted murder. Soliman allegedly crafted 18 Molotov cocktails before driving to Boulder June 1 and prepared for the peaceful pro-Israel demonstrators to arrive for the "Run For Their Lives," in support of the Israeli hostages. Victims and witnesses observed Soliman throw what appeared to be a glass bottle, which burst upon impact, creating large flames, an affidavit said. He also allegedly used a commercial weed sprayer as a "makeshift blowtorch." According to the affidavit, authorities discovered multiple glass bottles containing liquid, a lighter, rags, an insecticide sprayer and an AR-style rifle BB gun in Soliman's 2015 silver Toyota Prius. The affidavit noted that Soliman left behind an iPhone and a journal at his Colorado Springs home, detailing his motivations and preparations for the attack. Facing a litany of charges, including multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of incendiary devices, Soliman had initially been held on $10 million bond. If convicted, and his sentences are ordered to run consecutively, he could face a maximum of 384 years in state prison for those charges alone. Soliman was also charged with two counts of use of an incendiary device, which could add up to 48 years if served consecutively. Second suspect arrested for planning Pontiac mass shooting, sheriff says
The Brief A second suspect was arrested Friday for allegedly planning a mass shooting at a Pontiac high school graduation. Jamarion Hardiman and a 19-year-old co-conspirator allegedly hid two loaded firearms with 80 rounds of ammunition under vehicles at the venue. The plot was uncovered after a fight at the ceremony and a tip about a Snapchat threat, though a motive is not yet known. PONTIAC, Mich. (FOX 2) - Just a few hours after announcing a suspect was wanted for planning a mass shooting at a Pontiac high school, the sheriff announced their suspect was taken into custody. Jamarion Jaryante Hardiman was arrested on Friday, within hours of being identified as a suspect wanted for planning a mass shooting at a high school graduation ceremony in Pontiac. Sheriff Michael Bouchard had announced the charges during a noon press conference. By 4 p.m., the sheriff said Hardiman was in custody. What we know The two suspects were arrested after authorities said they planted weapons under vehicles at the graduation ceremony for a Pontiac school at United Wholesale Mortgage's sports complex. A 19-year-old has also been arrested, but has not been arraigned yet. Both men allegedly placed packages under vehicles at the venue, which were later discovered to obtain two firearms containing 80 rounds of ammunition between them. Neither suspect is enrolled at the school, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said Friday. Sheriff deputies were first dispatched to the venue after a fight broke out between individuals at the ceremony. Working with security at the venue, a preliminary investigation by police uncovered a larger plot. Deputies arrest Florence County residential care center employee after EMS workers find facility unstaffed
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Florence County deputies arrested an employee of a residential care facility on Friday after EMS workers went to the facility and found no staff members on the premises, authorities said. Deputies were called at about 7 a.m. to the Above the Rest Residential Care Facility at 2385 Pamplico Highway. They were eventually able to locate an employee, who they learned had outstanding General Sessions bench warrants, the sheriff's office said. The person, whose name has not been released, was taken to the Florence County Detention Center, deputies said. Additional charges are possible, and more information is expected to be made available as the investigation continues. The sheriff's office was not able to say how many residents lived at the facility. This is a developing story.
