Angels turn triple play when Shohei Ohtani lines out to Zach Neto and 2 Dodgers are caught off base
Miguel Rojas was on second and Dalton Rushing was on first for the Dodgers in the sixth inning when Ohtani hit a drive right up the middle past reliever Brock Burke.
Neto caught Ohtani's liner and stepped on second base in stride to get Rojas. Neto quickly threw to first, where Nolan Schanuel tagged out Rushing as the Dodgers rookie attempted to sneak back.
The Angels' triple play was their first since Aug. 18, 2023.
It also preserved a 5-5 tie in the latest edition of the Freeway Series. The Angels have won the first four games this season against the Dodgers.

Hassan Kim, bad and hurt. We're giving a ton of at bats to Estuary Ruiz and Michael Conforto, and now Alex Call since the deadline. Conforto, we have to just acknowledge this because he's the one that is getting the most flack because he signed a big contract and people know his name. I was in. I thought he was going to be great. I really did. I was totally sold. This was probably one of my biggest whiffs of the season. He's been atrocious, and truly, I know that they've now brought in Call, trying to make it more of a platoon situation. But no matter how they've shook it out, Conforto, that's the guy. I mean, these other small guys you've mentioned, I mean, sure, they're playing more now, but Conforto's up to you know, almost 400 plate appearances. At a .627 OPS. Florida legend Tim Tebow included on AP's 100th anniversary all-time All-America Team
The Associated Press recently announced its All-Time All-America teams amidst the organization's 100th anniversary, bestowing one of the most prestigious honors in college football among a very select few. It should come as no surprise that Florida Gators legend Tim Tebow made the cut, but even the Orange and Blue faithful might be mildly surprised by which roster he landed in. According to the AP's latest lineup, the storied collegiate quarterback earned the First-Team spot under center, joining a star-studded group of historic greats. "Florida's Tim Tebow edged Texas' Vince Young (2005) for all-time first-team quarterback. Tebow won the Heisman and made the AP All-America team as a sophomore in 2007, his first year as the starter," AP writer Eric Olson offers. "He led the Gators to their second national championship in three years in 2008 and narrowly missed a chance at another when the 2009 team started 13-0 but lost to Alabama in the SEC championship game. He remains the SEC career leader in rushing touchdowns and touchdowns responsible for." Jim Bowden of The Athletic revealed that the New York Mets are seemingly expected to pursue Bregman if he opts out of his contract at the end of the year.
