LSU men's basketball adds transfer forward Pablo Tamba from UC Davis
LSU men's basketball added another player out of the transfer portal with forward Pablo Tamba, according to a report from On3's Joe Tipton.
The six-foot-seven forward averaged 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds while playing 27.6 minutes as a starter for UC Davis in 2024-25. He shot 58.7% from the field while also contributing at a high level on the defensive end, finishing with 37 steals and 24 blocks.
Originally from Malaga, Spain, Tamba will enter his fifth season of college basketball with the Tigers. He spent the past two seasons with the Aggies after stops at Indiana River State College and Idaho State, where he played as a freshman.
Tamba found rhythm in his second season with UC Davis and hopes to continue that success in the SEC. His commitment adds to an active spring portal period for head coach Matt McMahon. LSU also attracted ex-Mississippi State center Michael Nwoko to improve its frontcourt, which needs work following a below-average season.

Cardinals' Willson Contreras calls out ‘f–king p—y' Brewers player after collision causes in-game spat

Willson Contreras was apparently ready to throw down. After a collision at first base on Saturday between the Cardinals infielder and Brewers third baseman Caleb Durbin in the bottom of the third inning, Milwaukee first baseman Rhys Hoskins expressed his displeasure with Contreras from the home dugout. On Durbin's groundout, Contreras took a step back with his right leg after recording the out, putting it in the path of Durbin, who collided with Contreras and then went tumbling to the ground. X/MLB on Fox Contreras chirped right back at Hoskins after the play and seemed ready for a confrontation, though the situation was diffused. However, Brewers pitcher and ex-Met Jose Quintana then plunked Contreras on the left arm in the top of the fifth. Contreras ran to pick up the ball and handed it to Quintana before jogging to first base. Each team was issued a warning after the hit by pitch. Advertisement Contreras, whose brother William is the Brewers' catcher, called out one of the Brewers players after the game, though he did not specify if this was directed at Hoskins. 'One of their players likes to talk from far away, but when he got to my face, he didn't say s–t,' Contreras told reporters after Saturday's 8-5 Cardinals win. 'I was looking for more than that. He seems to be tough, but he's a f—ing p—y. I'm not going to name names. He knows who he is.' Asked later about Hoskins, Contreras said, 'He didn't say nothing to me. I was expecting for him to say something, but he was looking away already. Look at my face — just say it to my face, whatever you say from the dugout. He was looking away and said, 'Get off the base.' I said, 'Push me,' and he didn't. So, it was good.' 'I wasn't trying to get him hurt,' Contreras said. 'I mean, he was running inside the line. I stayed there. I have all the right to stand on the bag. I don't think that's anyone's fault.'

Notre Dame 2026 running back commit Jonaz Walton has shut his recruitment down

Notre Dame 2026 running back commit Jonaz Walton has shut his recruitment down Notre Dame football has multiple prospects on campus this weekend for official visits, both committed to the Irish and uncommitted. One of the verbals currently in South Bend is running back Jonaz Walton. The 5-foot, 10-inch and 205-pounder committed to Notre Dame just over a month ago, and was still talking with others schools. That won't be the case going forward, as On3's Mike Singer is reporting that Walton has shut his recruitment down and won't speak with other schools. Walton went on the say that 'there's no doubt in my mind about my decision, and I'm not communicating with any schools.' This is great news for Notre Dame, as one of its goals with the current commits was to make sure they weren't wavering. It looks like it was a mission accomplished for the Irish with Walton this weekend, as he becomes one of many who have locked themselves into being part of Notre Dame's 2026 recruiting class.

247Sports issues Florida prediction for blue-chip defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland

247Sports issues Florida prediction for blue-chip defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland The summer heat is quickly rising, and Florida football's recruiting efforts have followed the mercury on its upward trajectory on the recruiting front, having now logged 10 hard commits as of the third weekend in June. Amidst the action, the Gators received a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports for four-star defensive lineman Vodney Cleveland out of Birmingham (Alabama) Parker in the 2026 cycle. The 6-foot-3-inch, 3005-pound trench warrior currently holds offers from 38 different schools and is wrapping up the fourth of his five official visits. It was Swamp247's Tyler Harden who submitted the crystal ball prediction for the Orange and Blue on Friday. Following Cleveland's OV in Gainesville at the end of May, the prep prospect told him that "Florida's still on top." What Vodney Cleveland has said about Florida During his official visit, the Cotton State product got an intimate view of the program, which presumably strengthened Billy Napier and Co.'s case to bring him to the Swamp. "Being around the locker room with these guys, just feels at home," he offered. Note that the home-like family atmosphere he described follows the staff's philosophy for building relationships with prep prospects and current players alike. As far as the coaching staff is concerned, defensive line coach Gerald Chatman has spearheaded the recruiting effort for Florida, while co-defensive coordinator Ron Roberts has also offered some assistance in mapping out how the young talent would fare in the Gators' scheme. "(Chatman) says I'm a great fit, and a guy like Caleb Banks, Cam Jackson, all those guys," Cleveland noted. Vodney Cleveland's official visit schedule Cleveland has completed four of his five official visits scheduled for this summer, starting with the Auburn Tigers on May 16, Florida on May 30, the Georgia Bulldogs on June 6 and the Texas Longhorns this past weekend. He still has a stop set with the Miami Hurricanes coming up on June 20. Vodney Cleveland's commitment date "I would say (in) two weeks," Cleveland said after the visit over two weeks ago. So while there is no firm date currently set, we can expect an announcement in the very near future from Cleveland. It is quite possible that he will wait until after his visit to Coral Gables as well. Will Harden's prediction prove correct? We will see soon enough. Vodney Cleveland's Recruiting Summary Cleveland is ranked No. 141 overall and No. 18 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 120 and 11, respectively. Along with 247Sports' medium crystal ball prediction, On3's recruiting prediction machine gives the Gators a 76.2% chance of landing the defensive lineman, followed by Auburn (9.5%) and Alabama (5.7%), respectively.
