'I'm living the Oasis dream but this weekend I'm just another fan at Croke Park'
Oasis are set to hit the stage in Dublin's Croke Park on August 16 and 17 in front of an excited sold-out crowd on both nights of the Irish leg of their hugely anticipated reunion tour.
Live Forever will be playing shows over the weekend as fans don their bucket hats for the Supersonic hitmakers, and while the group could have packed out venues over the two days - they have opted to head to the shows instead.
'We probably could have done evening shows while Oasis was going on in Croke Park,' Paul, who performs as the group's Noel Gallagher, told the Irish Mirror ahead of this weekend's shows.
'But we want to enjoy it ourselves, we're all die-hard fans as well.
'We were going to do the Friday night, but then it would be Friday night, Saturday morning, going to the Oasis gig Saturday night, the Sunday afternoon gig and then some of the lads are going Sunday night.' For any punters hoping for some tunes to get them into the mood before the shows, or Oasis superfans who missed out on a coveted ticket, the group will be playing two day-time acoustic shows in Whelan's - but sadly these shows are sold out too.
'We're doing an acoustic show… A sing-a-long, stripped back, acoustic show,' Paul explained.
'We'll play a lot of songs that aren't on an Oasis setlist. We obviously do the hits as well now, but we will do a lot of the album tracks and B-side that the hardcore farms really like'.
'Anytime Liam or Noel played over here, there's always a sing-a-long in a pub somewhere," Paul added.
'It literally started out, first of all, just in the pub…. and it just really took off. And now we're actually playing in a venue.
'It's gotten bigger and bigger, but we always keep it acoustic, because we don't think people want to come in and see a full live band, with electric guitars, with the drums and everything.'
Paul says that since Oasis announced their reunion last year, the average age of fans at shows has dropped - owing to a younger audience getting into the Whatever songwriters.
'We were quite lucky that we were as busy as we'd like to be before. But what we have noticed, we're probably doing the same amount out of shows, but there's a lot more people have turned up. And the age has gotten a lot younger.
'A lot more younger people now have gotten into Oasis because of the reunion and they are so popular now again.
'We have certainly noticed that the average age group in the audience has dropped probably eight to 10 years. So that's a great sign.' Live Forever
Thankfully, Paul managed to secure a ticket for the Saturday show. 'I have my tickets for Saturday,' Paul revealed. 'I'm not sure if I know it on Sunday as well.
'I'll see how the head is on Sunday morning… because we're obviously playing Whelan's on Saturday and Sunday in the daytime!'
Liam and Noel Gallagher announced last August that they would perform together for the first time since Oasis' dramatic split in 2009.
The Oasis Live '25 tour kicked off in Cardiff's Principality Stadium in July, before moving on to Manchester, London and Edinburgh.
The band have two sold-out performances in Dublin's Croke Park on Saturday August 16 and Sunday August 17.

But the sketch reaches its crescendo when she has to crack the case of the ongoing FFP saga. Oasis in '05: 'I tell you what's even better than rock ‘n' roll and that's bringing up my kids. I love fatherhood, man'
Ahead of Oasis's sold-out Croke Park shows on August 16 & 17, we're taking a deep dive into the Hot Press archives – to hear Liam and Noel's incredible story in their own words… Noel's opinion of Don't Believe The Truth was shared by Liam, who felt it belonged in the pantheon of great Oasis records. The chat we had with him backstage at the Late Late Show was also memorable for some quality slagging of the opposition and a great drugs yarn… 'I'm down with this one, man. If it was our or anybody else's fucking debut, they'd be saying it's as good as Definitely Maybe. Morning Glory's a great record. Be Here Now's a great record, but the songs are too long. Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants and Heathen Chemistry had their moments, but this album really feels like we're getting somewhere. It's a band again.' 'Paul McCartney walked into our studio, had a chat and invited us to his studio where he played 'Hey Jude' live. So we returned the favour and ran through a load of our old stuff for him. You could see him listening out for any fucking bits we'd ripped off!' 'I tell you what's even better than rock 'n' roll and that's bringing up my kids. I love fatherhood, man. They're my best mates and I know everything about 'em. The one thing in life I won't compromise over is them – they come first every time, no fucking argument.' 'Bloc Party? It's like watching University fucking Challenge! There's nothing worse – except maybe Man U supporters – than whiney cunts in bands. If they were trying to find a cure for cancer, fair enough, moan away, but this is music we're talking about.' ' Chris Martin, who, along with his band, is signed to EMI, turned round recently and said: 'Shareholders are the greatest evil in the world'. How hypocritical can one man be? I listened to X&Y the other day and it's shit. If people think that's the dog's b**locks, they're tripping, man. Apart from it being a bit U2-ey, you can't hear any of their influences. It's not a crime to sound like you're a fucking music fan.' 'I done mushrooms when I was 15. Me and Noel used to walk around Lime Park in Manchester. We'd do 250 at a time, man. We used to fucking go mental. Me and my mate Darrell, his mum and dad had gone out and we'd done loads of mushrooms, and they'd come in about four o'clock in the morning, and we were out on the patio pushing these big giant chess pieces around – and there was nothing there! And his mum and dad were looking out the window, going 'Darrell, come in, what are you doing?' And I'd be pushing this fucking big pawn! We thought it was completely fucking there, man.'
