Ben&Ben's drummer diagnosed with 'Drummer's Wrist'; band reschedules shows

GMA Network27-05-2025
Ben&Ben's drummer, Jam Villanueva, has been diagnosed with a condition that affects her ability to play drums.
In a statement on Instagram, the band said that Jam has been dealing with Quervain's tendinosis and 'Drummer's Wrist' for the past couple of weeks.
They also said that Jam continued rehearsing with the band for their recent performances last weekend, 'while working with specialists to manage her pain.'
'We want to assure everyone that the condition is temporary and treatable – it's something that many drummers have gone through and recovered from,' they said.
However, to properly heal, 'Jam's doctor has advised her to completely rest her left wrist for at least the entire month of June.'
'While we will miss the energy and magic she shares with us on stage, her health is our utmost priority.'
With this, Ben&Ben is rescheduling their The Traveller Across Dimensions shows in Bacolod and Davao tour shows. They are still finalizing the details.
Ben&Ben kicked off their The Traveller Across Dimensions tour in Cebu on May 24. The Bacolod show was originally scheduled for June 8, whereas the Davao show was for June 22.
After the Philippine leg, the band will fly to California for a show on July 12 and Singapore on December 14. More cities for the tour will be announced soon.
Ben&Ben's latest single 'Saranggola' was released in April and marked their eight years as a band.
Their latest album 'The Traveller Across Dimensions' was released in November 2024. It includes the tracks, 'Could Be Something,' 'Comets,' and 'Triumph.'
The band had a major concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in December 2024 in support of the album. The show featured Ben&Ben's live music with filmmaking and multimedia elements to create an animation-concert hybrid.
Ben&Ben also performed at the Off Limits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi in April. Ed Sheeran, One Republic, and Kaiser Chiefs were also part of the lineup.

Zack Tabudlo says coaching 'The Voice Kids PH' is a full circle moment

Before his 'surreal' success as a singer-songwriter, Zack Tabudlo got his start as a contestant on 'The Voice Kids' back in 2014, but got eliminated early on. Now, he is the talent search's newest judge in its upcoming edition. In a group interview, Zack said this is 'definitely' a full circle moment for him. 'Until now, I can't believe I'm in this GMA studio doing pictorials with Ben&Ben and sina Julie and Kuya Billy [Crawford],' Zack answered GMA News Online. 'It's crazy. It's a crazy feeling. I think this is sort of those things na parang grabe, I'm so blessed,' he added. 'And this is such a dream of mine that I never expected that would happen, but it's here. So it gives a lot of courage to these kids also to have a dream.' As someone who has been in their shoes before, Zack shared that he wants to impart to the kids that it is not the end of the world, no matter what happens. 'One big thing for kids or like contestants who fall out of the competition, unang iisipin niyan, 'Bbos na 'yung dreams ko, wala na,'' he said. 'When I was their age, honestly, I felt that way also. That's why, in a way, that's the advantage of being a coach kasi I feel for these kids, I know what they went through." According to Zack, that he gets to be a mentor and coach to the contestants now is "evidence na when you actually really dream and you love that dream of yours and your craft, nothing can really stop you from doing what you love to do." He added, "And ikaw lang din 'yun eh, ikaw lang mag-pu-push sa sarili mo.' Zack, along with Ben&Ben twins Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico, will be joining the upcoming season of "The Voice Kids Philippines" for the first time as coaches. Julie Anne San Jose and Billy Crawford are also returning as coaches. Production for the show's next season is now underway and will air on GMA Network soon! Zack signed to US-based record label Mercury Records in May. His latest single, 'Manloloko' came out in April. Ben&Ben admit to having impostor syndrome over 'The Voice Kids' stint, share lesson they want to impart

Ben&Ben is among the most successful OPM acts and in the upcoming 'The Voice Kids,' twins Miguel Benjamin and Paolo Benjamin are among the new judges. While they understand their responsibility in helping shape young artists, the twins couldn't help but experience a little bit of doubt in their own skills and successes. 'Honestly, again being very real with you, mayroon kaming slight impostor syndrome," Paolo said. 'We still don't fully know bakit kami nandito. But what we do know is whenever there's something that you're led to, it's for a purpose. And the purpose that we want to serve here is just making a small positive impact sa nine kids na makakasama namin sa journey na 'to," he added. Meanwhile, Miguel shared the one piece of advice they hope will positively impact the kids aside from musical skills, and that is to treat people well. 'Mahalaga 'yung talent, mahalaga 'yung skill at babaunin mo 'yun, pero ang palagay namin, mas mahalaga ay paano ka makitungo sa kapwa tao,' Miguel said. He added that perfection is not the goal. 'You won't get it right all the time, pero as long as every single time, 'yung intention mo ay hindi makasakit at pagka nagkamali ka matuto ka, at tratuhin mong bawat isang tao na 'yung gusto mong ibigay ay pagmamahal.' Ben&Ben's latest album, 'The Traveller Across Dimensions,' was released in November 2024. It includes the tracks 'Could Be Something,' 'Comets,' and 'Triumph.' The band went on a world tour in support of the album this year. Ben&Ben also performed at the Off Limits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi in April, where Ed Sheeran, One Republic, and Kaiser Chiefs were also part of the lineup.
