Ben&Ben's drummer diagnosed with 'Drummer's Wrist'; band reschedules shows
Ben&Ben's drummer, Jam Villanueva, has been diagnosed with a condition that affects her ability to play drums.
In a statement on Instagram, the band said that Jam has been dealing with Quervain's tendinosis and 'Drummer's Wrist' for the past couple of weeks.
They also said that Jam continued rehearsing with the band for their recent performances last weekend, 'while working with specialists to manage her pain.'
'We want to assure everyone that the condition is temporary and treatable – it's something that many drummers have gone through and recovered from,' they said.
However, to properly heal, 'Jam's doctor has advised her to completely rest her left wrist for at least the entire month of June.'
'While we will miss the energy and magic she shares with us on stage, her health is our utmost priority.'
With this, Ben&Ben is rescheduling their The Traveller Across Dimensions shows in Bacolod and Davao tour shows. They are still finalizing the details.
Ben&Ben kicked off their The Traveller Across Dimensions tour in Cebu on May 24. The Bacolod show was originally scheduled for June 8, whereas the Davao show was for June 22.
After the Philippine leg, the band will fly to California for a show on July 12 and Singapore on December 14. More cities for the tour will be announced soon.
Ben&Ben's latest single 'Saranggola' was released in April and marked their eight years as a band.
Their latest album 'The Traveller Across Dimensions' was released in November 2024. It includes the tracks, 'Could Be Something,' 'Comets,' and 'Triumph.'
The band had a major concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in December 2024 in support of the album. The show featured Ben&Ben's live music with filmmaking and multimedia elements to create an animation-concert hybrid.
Ben&Ben also performed at the Off Limits Music Festival in Abu Dhabi in April. Ed Sheeran, One Republic, and Kaiser Chiefs were also part of the lineup.

Taylor Lautner finally reacts to the 'What hafen Vella' trend
What hafen, Taylor Lautner? The viral line 'What hafen, Vella?', popularized by Lautner's Filipino impersonator Cristopher Diwata, has finally reached the 'Twilight' star. On TikTok, Lautner shared a video of himself with his wife, Taylor Dome. In the comment section, a user wrote that the American actor has done everything except hop onto Cristopher's iconic lines. 'Bro noticing everything except 'What hafen Vela' trend,' the user commented. Lautner then replied, saying: 'Yup, but it's not your fault, it's mine.' His comment has now 55,000 likes on TikTok as of this writing. It's the first time that Lautner has publicly acknowledged the trend. In 2013, Cristopher joined the "It's Showtime" segment "Kalokalike" as Lautner's "Twilight" character, Jacob Black, where he performed the now-viral line. Over a decade later, Cristopher's clip resurfaced, causing him to go viral again and stamp his place in the Philippine internet's hall of fame for memes. TikTok users, as well as celebrities, have been dubbing and recreating his iconic lines: "What hafen, Vella? Why you cryin' again? I know, vampire, right? Vampire will feyt to me." Since then, Cristopher has collaborated with several brands and Filipino artists, such as Ben&Ben, SB19, and Sparkle stars Michael Sager, Barbie Forteza and Kyline Alcantara, 'Unang Hirit' host Anjo Petierra and TikTok star Abi Marquez. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA Integrated News

Christopher Diwata takes his 'What hafen Vella?' trend up a notch on Abi Marquez's TikTok
Just when you thought the "What hafen Vella?" trend couldn't get any bigger, here comes the man himself Christopher Diwata to turn it up a notch. In Abi Marquez's TikTok video, Christopher not only made an appearance, he also proceeded to sing lines from Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years," which was used as the official soundtrack of the films. Even better: The guy was having fun and enjoying himself. This isn't the first time Christopher doubled-down on the Twilight references. He previously sang the song with Ben&Ben, who is just one of the many celebrities riding on his trend, among them Michael Sager, Anjo Petierra, and SB19. He's landed several endorsements as well, which he said is allowing him to pay off debts and support his family. "Kahit maliit man 'yan, tatanggapin ko 'yan. Iga-grab ko 'yan kahit maliit. Sana sa mga nag-aalala sa akin, huwag niyong intindihin 'yun at mas maganda 'yung meron kaysa sa wala," Christopher told GMA News Online in an interview. Christopher is also going to appear on "Mga Batang Riles." We're happy for him and we're glad to see he's having fun himself! — LA, GMA Integrated News
