Browns All-Pro DE Myles Garrett ticketed after police say he drove 100 mph in Cleveland suburb
The Strongsville Police Department stopped Garrett just after 2 a.m. Saturday in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 71 near the Ohio Turnpike, according to a citation.
Garrett is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday but he could pay a $250 fine without appearing. Garrett is expected to be with the Browns in Philadelphia for a joint workout with the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles.

Mr Biden attributed the claim to author Michael Wolff, whom Mr Trump disparaged in June as a 'Third Rate Reporter'. He has accused Mr Wolff of making up stories to sell books. The first lady's threats echo a favoured strategy of her husband, who has aggressively used litigation to go after critics. Public figures like the Trumps face a high bar to succeed in a defamation case. The president and first lady have long said they were introduced by Paolo Zampolli, a modelling agent, at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998. The letter is dated August 6 and was first reported on Wednesday by Fox News Digital. Abbe Lowell, a lawyer who has represented Mr Biden in his criminal cases and to whom Brito's letter is addressed, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Woodland home catches fire, resident rescued by other occupants
A person was rescued from an early morning house fire in Woodland on Thursday. The fire broke out around 1 a.m. near 1st and Clover streets. Wodland Fire crews responded and found that the occupants had pulled a person out of the burning home to the front porch. Woodland police officers were then able to carry the person to the front yard. They were then taken to the UC Davis Medical Center. Firefighters say the person suffered burn injuries. No other updates have been given about the person's condition. The interior of the home appears to have suffered significant damage in the fire. Exactly what started the fire is under investigation, but firefighters noted there were no working smoke alarms in the home.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A former Ohio State quarterback appeared in court Thursday on a felony drug charge stemming from a 2024 traffic stop. Art Schlichter, who played for the Buckeyes from 1978 to '81, was allegedly found with two crack pipes during a 2024 traffic stop in North Linden. He was also found with small white rocks, which he reportedly said were 'crack rocks.' Body camera footage released last February by the Ohio State Highway Patrol showed over six minutes of the encounter. Former Ohio State football player Kirk Barton indicted in deadly Dublin crash A judge set a status conference date for Aug. 11, when Schlichter, 65, is expected to change his plea to avoid going to trial on Aug. 25. Schlichter's attorney said he couldn't change his plea on Thursday due to medical issues. When Schlichter was arrested last year, he was on probation for a fifth-degree felony drug charge from 2022 after he was found unresponsive outside of a Columbus-area hotel and had to be revived with Narcan. The former player had spent 10 years in prison for crimes related to gambling and also served time in federal prison for a ticket scam that took millions of dollars from victims. Upon release from prison in 2006, Schlichter wrote a book about his addiction, 'Busted,' and became an anti-gambling crusader. But as he railed against casinos during church appearances, he continued to rack up new gambling debts.
