Michigan State loses lone 2027 commitment Khalil Terry
On a day that saw Michigan State secure a couple of commitments in the 2026 recruiting class, the Spartans have lost the lone member of their 2027 recruiting class.
Khalil Terry committed to Michigan State on December 1, 2024. Now, just over six months later, the Spartans have lost their lone commitment in the 2027 recruiting class.
Terry made his commitment to the Spartans when Demetrice Martin was still at the helm of the Spartans defensive back room, but after his departure, a decommitment in this recruitment was inevitable. The Spartans anticipated this blow and will look to replace Terry on their big board for the future recruiting class.
He is a 6-foot, 185 pound defensive back from Tustin, California. Terry ranks as a 4-star prospect and the No. 201 national player in the 2027 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

FSU commit shuts down his recruitment

FSU commit shuts down his recruitment The FSU Seminoles are starting to heat up on the recruiting trail, they are surging for several of their top targets after a busy weekend of official visits. Just as importantly, they are getting their commits to shut down their recruitment. Four-star wide receiver Darryon Williams announced his recruitment was over on Sunday, and three-star cornerback Sean Johnson did the same on Monday. He announced the news on X. "My recruitment is 100% shut down go NOLES," he wrote. He tagged defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. and safeties coach Evan Cooper in the post and included a photo of him and head coach Mike Norvell from his official visit. Johnson is the No. 549 overall player and No. 45 cornerback in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 10 player from Maryland. While listed as a corner, he is expected to play safety for the Seminoles. He committed to them back on April 10 and is one of three safeties they have committed in their 2026 recruiting class. Four-star prospects Tredarius Hughes and Darryl Bell III complete the class. MSU target, 3-star WR Xavier Stinson commits to UCLA following official visit

MSU target, 3-star WR Xavier Stinson commits to UCLA following official visit A Michigan State football targeted wide receiver prospect is heading to another Big Ten school. Xavier Stinson of Vero Beach, Fla. announced his commitment to UCLA on Monday. Stinson made his commitment known via a post on his social media X account. Stinson is a three-star prospect with a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 118 wide receiver prospect in 247Sports' rankings for the 2026 class. Stinson was scheduled to visit Michigan State this upcoming weekend. His commitment to the Bruins comes after he took an official visit to UCLA this past weekend. He was also strongly considering NC State, and held notable offers from Indiana, Arkansas, Memphis, Pitt, UCF, Vanderbilt and West Virginia. Michigan State is trending in the right direction for another three-star wide receiver prospect in Zachary Washington. So this commitment from Stinson could be related to that move or a number of the other wide receiver prospects Michigan State is currently pursuing. It also could simply be the Bruins beating out the Spartans for this prospect. Alabama baseball lands transfer portal commitment from veteran left-handed pitcher

Alabama baseball lands transfer portal commitment from veteran left-handed pitcher The Alabama Crimson Tide baseball program has added yet another potential key piece of their 2026 pitching staff, landing a commitment Sunday night from left-handed pitcher Evan Steckmesser. Steckmesser, a graduate student, is a face that Alabama has seen previously across his last two seasons while with the Samford Bulldogs. Between the 2024-25 seasons, the left-hander made three relief appearances against the Crimson Tide, allowing a combined three earned runs. This past season, Steckmesser had a stellar year at Samford in which the senior owned a 1-3 record with a 2.78 ERA and 50:6 K:BB ratio across 45.1 innings pitched. In those 22 relief appearances for the Bulldogs, Steckmesser also held opponents to a combined .243 AVG against, with his numbers across the board an improvement from 2024 in which the left-hander owned a 6.08 ERA across 23.2 innings pitched. Prior to Samford, Steckmesser attended Snead State Community College during the 2022-23 seasons. The left-hander is also a native of Alabama who attended Grissom High School, and will be entering his final season of college baseball in 2026.
