New Rumor About the MCU's Next THOR Project Could Mean a Shift Away From Chris Hemsworth's Reign — GeekTyrant
Industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed (via CB) that Marvel Studios is developing a project known as Thor Quest , a title from a 2023 children's book centered on a young Thor's first quest to find Mjolnir.
There's no information pointing toward whether the Marvel Studios project is a movie or a TV show, but potentially shifting the focus to a young version of Thor could mean Hemworth's God of Thunder might indeed be retiring the character after the next Avengers crossover.
This, like all rumors, is just that for now, but it could point to a reason behind Hemsworth's farewell-esque tribute video that he shared last month. As usual, we will just have to wait and see how it all pans out.

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Season 2 Is Not the End According to Vincent D'Onofrio — GeekTyrant
Fans of Daredevil: Born Again can breathe a sigh of relief. Despite recent chatter online sparked by Charlie Cox suggesting Season 2 might mark the end of the road for the show, Vincent D'Onofrio is setting the record straight and offering a glimmer of hope for more street-level Marvel mayhem. In a clip that made the rounds on social media, Cox referred to Season 2 as the show's "final" season, which sent fans into a frenzy. But given how casually the comment was dropped, it's likely it was just a slip of the tongue. That small bit of confusion was enough to stir up concern among the fandom, but thankfully, D'Onofrio jumped into the conversation to clarify things. Replying to fans on X, D'Onofrio shot down the idea that Daredevil: Born Again is wrapping up after its second season. He said the reports were 'not true,' and added, 'there's a good chance we will have a third season.' While Marvel Studios hasn't officially announced a Season 3, Brad Winderbaum, the head of Marvel Television, previously shared that the intention is to keep the series going. What started as an ambitious 18-episode revival has been reshaped into two seasons with nine and eight episodes respectively, leaving the door wide open for more. D'Onofrio previously teased that plans for a third season were on the table. Speaking with fans, he explained, 'If they let us do it, we have a plan. It is up to the fans to watch and to get excited. And it is up to us to please them and get the story right. We are looking forward in a big way.' Marvel seems optimistic, and it's clear the creative team is game to keep going, if the response warrants it. And based on trade reports, Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 had a strong debut on Disney+, which is a promising sign for the show's future. If we do get a third season, there's plenty of comic book material to mine. Fans are already dreaming up ideas, including a storyline where both Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk end up behind bars, reminiscent of the gritty arcs by Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark. Of course, if a third season doesn't materialize, there's always the chance we'll see Daredevil on the big screen again. Though sadly, it doesn't look like he'll show up in Spider-Man: Brand New Day next summer. Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again is streaming now on Disney+. Season 2 is on the way, and if all goes well, we might just get more.

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors The first big superhero movie of the summer finally has a streaming release date on Disney+. Photo courtesy of Marvel Studios Originally conceived as supervillains disguising themselves as superheroes in the nineties, the Thunderbolts have gone through many incarnations over the years both in and out of the comics. The official synopsis of the film reads,"Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes with Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission. Forced to confront the darkest corners of their pasts, will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite before it's too late?" While August 27 isn't that far away, if you don't want to wait that long to watch "Thunderbolts*" at home, you don't have to. The film has been available to rent or buy digitally since July 1. There's also physical releases available of "Thunderbolts*" in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats as of July 29. In theaters, "Thunderbolts*" proved a critical success but underperformed commercially. The superhero film did well enough with reviewers to earn an 88% critics score from Rotten Tomatoes, but fell far below the usual Marvel blockbuster global box office by taking in only $382.4 million. But in spite of the underwhelming box office, the Thunderbolts (or New Avengers) haven't been forgotten by Disney or Kevin Feige. Most of the stars of "Thunderbolts*" will be reprising their roles in the upcoming event film "Avengers: Doomsday." Meanwhile "Thunderbolts*" director Jake Schreier has been confirmed as helming Marvel's "X-Men" reboot. Denzel Washington Went Viral Over His Black Panther 3 Role. Obviously He Was Asked About It Again
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly offering new content, thanks to projects coming in theaters and streaming with a Disney+ subscription. One of the most hotly anticipated upcoming Marvel movies is Ryan Coogler's Black Panther 3, which is in development. Denzel Washington revealed he's being written a role in the blockbuster, breaking the internet in the process. So obviously he was asked about that again recently. While Black Panther 3 has a rumored release window, basically nothing is known about what's going to happen in the big screen return to Wakanda. While Ryan Coogler said Washington was like family, exactly who he'll be playing in the MCU is a mystery. When speaking with ScreenRant about his new Spike Lee movie Highest 2 Lowest, he was asked about joining the beloved Marvel franchise. Unfortunately he only offered: That's between me and Ryan. Fine, you can play it cool Mr. Washington. Almost nothing is known about what the third Black Panther movie will be about, and it seems like it's going to stay that way for the time being. After all Wakanda Forever's ending offered a number of thrilling narrative threads to pull from. Of course, it's also possible that Washington might not actually know what will go down with his role in Ryan Coogler's threequel. The movie is seemingly only its in early development stage, and it's unclear how much writing the Sinners filmmaker has done so far. So we might all just have to try and be patient. Disney+: from $9.99 a month w/ ad-supported planDisney+ is the home for the MCU, including Black Panther. Plans start at $9.99 a month for its new ad-supported plan. Go ad-free and pay $15.99 a month or save 16% and pre-pay $159.99 for a Deal As previously mentioned, the events of the second Black Panther left a bunch of question about the future of Coogler's beloved franchise. At the end of the film Shuri became the next Panther, but didn't take the trial to try and rule her fictional country. Instead, it was hinted that M'Baku might be the new King. Additionally, the Wakanda Forever credits scene revealed that T'Challa and Nakia had secretly had a baby. This could add another fold to who will ultimately sit on the Throne and be in control of the high tech society and its mines of Vibranium. Ever since Washington let slip about his role in Black Panther 3, fans have been wondering who he might play in the forthcoming blockbuster. Fans who spent years watching the Marvel movies in order know that Coogler's franchise is a favorite, so the pressure is on for the third installment to deliver. Especially after recent sequels like Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Thor: Love and Thunder failed to resonate with audiences. No pressure. The next Marvel movie hitting theaters is Spider-Man: Brand New Day on July 24th of next year as part of the 2026 movie release list. Fingers crossed that we get more information about Black Panther 3 sooner rather than later.
