Tesla inaugurates Delhi showroom, focuses on Model Y sales

New Delhi: Elon Musk-run Tesla on Monday inaugurated its first showroom in the National Capital Region (NCR) at the Worldmark 3 complex in Aerocity, marking the electric carmaker's second retail location in India within a month of entering the country. Situated in one of Delhi's busiest business districts, close to Indira Gandhi International Airport, the Aerocity outlet serves as an experience centre where guests can examine the Model Y electric SUV, understand the purchasing process, and discover charging options. Customers from Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and the surrounding areas are anticipated to be served by the location. The launch comes after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis attended Tesla's India debut on July 15 at Maker Maxity in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex. The company was invited by the chief minister of Maharashtra to establish research and development and manufacturing facilities in the state. Tesla is making a strong effort to enter India's premium EV market before the holiday season with the opening of the new showroom in Delhi, adding a second major metro to its retail map. The company is currently concentrating on increasing retail access and customer onboarding, but it has not yet revealed plans for local manufacturing or additional models for India. The Model Y is currently the flagship model in Tesla's India portfolio. It comes in two different versions: the standard Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) model costs Rs 59.89 lakh, while the Long Range RWD model costs Rs 67.89 lakh (both ex-showroom). Delivery is expected to start in the third quarter of 2025, and reservations opened in July. The claimed range of the standard Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Model Y is 500 km on a single charge; the Long Range RWD variant increases this to 622 km. According to Tesla, the Long Range model can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.6 seconds, while the standard model can do so in 5.9 seconds. The top speed of both models is 201 kmph. The standard version can recover up to 238 km of range with a fast charger in 15 minutes, while the Long Range can recover up to 267 km in the same amount of time.

Elon Musk-run Tesla set to inaugurate Delhi showroom today

New Delhi: Elon Musk-run electric car-maker Tesla was all set to enter the national capital on Monday with opening its second showroom in India. The US automaker was set to inaugurate its showroom in the upscale Worldmark 3 complex at Aerocity in the national capital. It will cater to customers in the national capital region -- a key hub for India's electric mobility push. Tesla's India portfolio currently includes the Model Y electric SUV in two configurations. The standard Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version is priced at Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Long Range RWD variant is available at Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries for both are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025. In a post on social media platform X, Tesla had posted, 'Arriving in Delhi - stay tuned," along with a graphic showcasing its upcoming arrival in the national capital. This follows the opening of the company's first India showroom in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex on July 15. The high-profile Mumbai launch was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who praised Tesla's entry into the state and invited the company to set up R&D and manufacturing facilities there. Tesla Model Y is available in two versions: a standard rear-wheel drive with a 60 kWh battery offering a WLTP-certified range of 500 km, and a long-range rear-wheel drive variant with a 75 kWh battery delivering up to 622 km on a single charge. Deliveries will be prioritised for buyers in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram, with vehicles transported on flat-bed trucks directly to customers' homes. The company has also updated its website to allow vehicle registration across all states and union territories, expanding access beyond its initial launch cities. While Tesla lists its full self-driving (FSD) feature as an optional extra for Rs 6 lakh, the advanced capability will be introduced in India at a later stage.

Elon Musk issues chilling warning to this Asian country, says it will lose 1 million people by 2025, not China, India or South Korea but..

Elon Musk- File image New Delhi: In a significant statement, Elon Musk has issued a stark warning about Japan's demographic crisis. Saying that the Asian giant country 'will lose almost a million people this year' and suggesting that artificial intelligence (AI) could be the only viable solution to reverse the trend. Notably, Japan is facing its sharpest population drop on record, with government data showing roughly 900,000 more deaths than births in the past year. What has Elon Musk said on Japan? In the recent development, Musk has stressed the decline was 'set in motion half a century ago' and not caused by technology. Why is Japan under crisis? Reports have it that Japan is facing its sharpest population drop on record, with government data showing roughly 900,000 more deaths than births in the past year. More notably, the widening gap is driven by a long-term fall in fertility rates and an ageing population, creating serious challenges for the country's economy and social systems. Musk argued that AI could help ease the burden on an ageing society by supporting critical sectors such as healthcare and reducing the economic strain of a shrinking workforce. When is Elon Musk's Tesla arriving in Delhi? In another significant development, Elon Musk-run electric car maker Tesla is all set to inaugurate its second showroom in India in Delhi on August 11 — after it opened the Mumbai showroom last month. In a post on social media platform X, Tesla posted, 'Arriving in Delhi – stay tuned,' along with a graphic showcasing its upcoming arrival in the national capital, as per a report carried by IANS. The new IANS report also said that the new Tesla Experience Centre will open at Aerocity's upscale Worldmark 3 complex in the national capital, catering to customers in the national capital region — a key hub for India's electric mobility push.
