Trade Crypto Without Purchasing It: Octa Broker About Crypto-CFDs

Zawya03-07-2025
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - Media OutReach Newswire - 3 July 2025 - Crypto volatility poses both potentially spectacular possibilities and enormous risks. For example, by investing in crypto assets on the spot market, traders buy the crypto and, hence, risk their budget if the price drops and never returns to the initial position. Instruments like crypto CFDs (Contracts for Difference) provide more opportunities for flexible capital management and allow traders to expand their financial horizons. Octa Broker, a broker with globally recognised licenses, explains how one can trade crypto without actually buying the asset with the help of crypto CFDs.
Understanding Crypto CFDs and Their Mechanism
A crypto CFD is an agreement between a client and a broker where a client profits (or loses funds) based on the variation of price. This financial instrument allows investors to use price movements of cryptocurrencies to their benefit without holding the underlying asset. This gives them more flexibility, security, and convenience, compared to spot trading where asset purchase is a must.
7 Reasons to Trade Crypto CFDs Instead of Buying Crypto on the Spot Market
1. Trading in Any Market Direction In traditional crypto trading, profits are made only when prices rise. With CFDs, if the price is expected to increase, traders go long (buy). If they believe the price may decrease, they go short (sell). This two-way direction trading creates more strategic avenues than storing cryptocurrencies in a wallet with the expectation for prices to escalate.
2. No Need for Crypto Wallets or Exchange Accounts
One of the biggest direct hazards of crypto ownership is security. Hackers consistently target exchanges, and personal wallet management can lead to missing funds. Over $1.7 billion in digital assets has been pilfered from crypto websites using cyberattacks since 2024. Private keys, seed words, and exchange security risks are no more relevant with crypto CFDs since everything is safely handled by licensed brokers.
3. Simplified Access Without KYC Delays
Crypto exchanges tend to have inconvenient identity verification (KYC) processes that could take a number of days or even weeks. CFD brokers, on the other hand, offer faster account opening so traders can get on the market quickly and enjoy price action without bureaucratic delays.
4. Diversified Portfolios
Volatility is inherent to crypto markets, and trading solely in crypto can increase vulnerability. Investors can hedge their exposure by trading a number of other asset classes with crypto CFDs, such as major currency pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD), stock indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq 100), and commodities (gold, oil, natural gas).
This reduces dependence on a single asset class and provides greater options for traders to hedge losses in times of market decline. For example, if Bitcoin is falling due to regulatory uncertainty, a trader can hedge loss by buying gold CFDs, which typically perform better with financial uncertainty.
5. Advanced Trading Tools for Enhanced Risk Management
One of the best features of CFD trading is the built-in risk management options that enable traders to protect their capital. Unlike crypto spot trading, where prices can destroy whole portfolios overnight, CFDs offer:
Stop-loss and take-profit orders to automatically close trades at pre-set levels.
Negative balance protection, ensuring traders never lose more than their deposit.
Advanced charting and technical indicators to identify trading opportunities.
With these features, traders have greater control over their strategies, making crypto CFDs a more precise tool for managing risk compared to traditional crypto exchanges.
6. Enhanced Security
Crypto exchanges have a long history of security breaches, regulatory shutdowns, and liquidity issues. With CFDs, traders avoid risks like:
Exchange collapses (e.g., the high-profile FTX bankruptcy in 2022).
Withdrawal freezes due to liquidity shortages.
Unexpected delistings of assets, leaving traders unable to exit positions.
Unlike exchanges, where withdrawals can take days or even weeks, regulated brokers offer transparent deposit and withdrawal processes. Funds are typically withdrawn using the same method they were deposited with, ensuring fast, secure, and predictable transactions.
7. Lower Entry Barriers & Greater Trading Flexibility
Not all traders have the funds to buy whole units of Bitcoin or Ethereum. With CFDs, though, traders access these instruments with fractional deposits, leveraging their market exposure.
Additionally, CFDs allow quick exits and re-entries, which is far more versatile than actually buying crypto, where price execution and liquidity delays can result in unnecessary losses.
Cryptocurrency trading has developed more diverse, secure, and trustworthy substitutes to simple buying and holding cryptocurrencies. Crypto CFDs present traders with a choice to make a profit from price differences without security risks, slow payments, or considerable capital outlay associated with spot trading on crypto exchanges. By offering greater risk management, diversification, and trading flexibility, crypto CFDs have become an effective tool for traders today in the volatile world of digital assets.

President Museveni Boosts Kampala Street Hawkers With Shs 300 Million

Excitement and jubilation filled Kololo Independence Grounds on Tuesday, 29, July 2025 as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni extended a cash capital boost worth Shs 300 million to street hawkers operating across Kampala City. Each vendor received Shs 100,000, in addition to buying their merchandise they brought to the function. According to the State House Comptroller, Ms. Jane Barekye, this was part of an ongoing presidential initiative to uplift informal traders and integrate them into the formal money economy. Delivering the funds on behalf of the President, Ms. Barekye emphasized the President's vision to reach even the most marginalized. 'The President is determined to ensure that every Ugandan joins the money economy. That is why he's reaching out to even the street vendors, supporting them with capital. This program has been ongoing, and it will continue across the country,' Ms. Barekye told the hawkers. Ms. Barekye noted that the President would follow up to assess the impact of the support and determine how best to assist further. She also extended gratitude to Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Mobilization, Mr. Moses Byaruhanga for organizing the event and mobilizing vendors effectively. Hajjat Minsa Kabanda, Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Affairs, delivered greetings from President Museveni and urged hawkers to observe city cleanliness and proper conduct. 'Please avoid operating in the wrong places and don't litter the streets. We need a clean and organized Kampala. Carry polyethene bags for your banana peelings and fruit remains, and avoid stepping on green spaces,' she said. Hajjat Kabanda also encouraged vendors to take advantage of other government programs such as the Presidential Skilling Centers, Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga. In a direct political appeal, she urged vendors to support the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the 2026 general elections. 'I want to inform you that President Museveni will be on the ballot in 2026. Please vote for him and all NRM candidates. Where you see a bus, tick,' Hajjat Kabanda said, referring to the NRM party symbol. Mr. Byaruhanga, lauded the hawkers for staying organized, which, he said, allowed the President to identify their needs and deliver targeted support. 'The President has always asked how you survive on the streets. Through your leaders, we have found out how to support you,' Mr. Byaruhanga explained. He dismissed fears that supporting vendors would lead to more unregulated hawking, noting that while Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has operational guidelines, the government will continue to support the vulnerable. 'We cannot leave them to die on the streets just because we fear many more will come. As the city becomes more organized, they will be able to work in places where customers can find them easily,' he said. Mr. Byaruhanga echoed the call for cleanliness and discipline, asking hawkers to respect KCCA regulations to maintain a tidy and organized city. Kampala Central Division Mayor, Mr. Salim Uhuru, who also attended the function, rallied behind the hawkers and thanked President Museveni for recognizing their resilience and importance to the city's economy. 'Others want to chase you from the city, but President Museveni insists that you remain and work for your families. Please don't forget to vote for him in the upcoming elections,' he said. The event was attended by several other leaders, including Presidential Advisor on Kampala Affairs Hajjat Sarah Kanyike, Kampala Division NRM chairpersons and other party officials. Study highlights Muscat Stock Exchange's tangible impact on economic development

An academic study confirms a positive correlation between the Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) and its growing role in financing investments, in line with global trends positioning stock exchanges as effective financial instruments in modern economies. The study took the MSX as a practical case. Titled 'The Role of Muscat Stock Exchange Management in Financing Investments in Line with Oman Vision 2040,' the research is considered the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman to explore the capital market's contribution to investment financing. It aims to elevate the status of the MSX as a reliable liquidity provider and stimulate its use in financing major national economic projects. The study comes at a time when regional financial markets are striving to deepen their ecosystems, diversify financial instruments, and strengthen their roles amid a favourable investment environment in the GCC. These efforts are supported by economic reforms aligned with national strategies. The study seeks to assess the MSX's role in financing investments within the framework of Oman Vision 2040, highlighting key programmes that support its mission as a capital market financing tool and a generator of investment opportunities. It also examines the development trajectory of the exchange in recent years. Findings revealed a strong, direct, and positive linear relationship between the MSX's performance and the level of investment financing in the Sultanate, especially through mechanisms such as equity offerings (IPOs) and bond issuances. As the MSX's role expands, investment financing also increases—aligning with Oman Vision 2040's goals. The research also reviewed the foundational objectives behind the creation of global stock exchanges, particularly their function in mobilising capital for economic and developmental projects. It further emphasised the role of stock markets in channelling public savings into productive investment. The study concluded with several recommendations, most notably the importance of implementing national initiatives that enhance the MSX's competitiveness as a viable financing option. It also called for improved coordination among regulatory and operational bodies within the financial sector to diversify financing instruments and continuously improve the investment environment. Notably, the study opens the door for further specialised research in economic development and investment financing, especially efforts aimed at strengthening capital markets, advancing financial inclusion and fintech solutions, developing innovative financial products, and raising public awareness about investment opportunities—particularly those offered through initial public offerings. 2025 © All right reserved for Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA) Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. Oman a strategic choice for green iron: Meranti

MUSCAT - Singapore-headquartered low-carbon steel manufacturer Meranti Green Steel (MGS) is firming up plans to establish a Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) facility at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Duqm on Oman's southeast coast. Phase 1 of the project targets a production capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per year of HBI, around 60 per cent of which will be shipped as feedstock for Meranti's proposed green steel plant planned at Rayong in Thailand. The latter project, slated for commissioning in 2028, will produce 2.5 million tonnes per year of hot-rolled steel earmarked for industrial consumers of green steel across Southeast Asia. The remaining 40 per cent of HBI from the Oman project is proposed to be supplied to Meranti's offtake partners distributed around the globe. In a post on Monday, July 29, 2025, Meranti described the Oman project as a 'strategic pillar of its integrated value chain.' It also outlined several reasons for selecting Oman—and Duqm in particular—as the site for its HBI production facility. Chief among these factors, it stated, is access to competitive energy: 'Oman offers reliable, cost-competitive natural gas and a rapidly developing green hydrogen ecosystem. This makes it an ideal location for producing direct reduced iron (DRI) at scale.' Equally significant, Meranti noted, are Duqm's infrastructure and export readiness. 'The Duqm Special Economic Zone provides industrial land, deep-water port access, and efficient permitting frameworks. This supports fast-track development and efficient global distribution.' Additionally, Oman's location enables efficient supply to Meranti's steel plant in Thailand, as well as to European offtakers seeking low-emission hot briquetted iron (HBI). Shipping HBI from Oman improves logistics and lowers emissions compared to traditional supply routes, the company stressed. Earlier this month, Meranti revealed that it had received tentative commitments from the Omani government for the supply of natural gas for the HBI project in Duqm. 'With gas secured and green hydrogen partnerships advancing, Oman is now fully positioned to become a critical enabler of our mission to decarbonize iron and steelmaking,' the company stated in its most recent post. 'We are working closely with Omani authorities and our raw material partner, who are committed to sustainable industrial growth. Their support is foundational to our success,' the company added. A relatively recent entrant into the steel sector in Southeast Asia, Meranti aims to leverage the latest advancements in steelmaking and digital technologies to maintain a competitive edge. A key pillar of this strategy involves establishing geographically decoupled Hot Briquetted Iron (HBI) supply chains, sourcing from highly competitive regions such as Oman and Western Australia. This approach enables Meranti to site HBI plants in locations with strong access to competitively priced natural gas and emerging green or blue hydrogen, while situating steel production facilities closer to end-user markets. 2025 © All right reserved for Oman Establishment for Press, Publication and Advertising (OEPPA) Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc.
