Bollywood Star Dad, Hero Brother; But Glamorous Daughter Is Now Making Cow Dung Cakes In A Village
Krishna Shroff, daughter of Jackie Shroff, surprised everyone by making cow dung cakes on Zee TV's 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon'
In an industry where star kids often dominate headlines for their designer wardrobes, lavish lifestyles, and luxury vacations, Krishna Shroff's latest appearance has taken everyone by surprise. The daughter of Bollywood veteran Jackie Shroff and sister of actor Tiger Shroff has traded high heels for a rural setting, quite literally getting her hands dirty making cow dung cakes on national television.
A viral video from Zee TV's reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon shows Krishna Shroff immersed in a task far removed from the glitz of Mumbai's film world. The show, themed entirely around rural traditions, requires contestants to participate in chores common to villages. In Krishna's case, the challenge was to prepare cow dung cakes using a mix of cow dung, straw, and mud, an exercise she had never experienced before.
Wearing a determined smile despite the mess, Krishna can be seen shaping the mixture on an iron stick, flattening it, and plastering it onto a wall. She completed the challenge at impressive speed, though her team eventually lost to that of co-contestant Erica. Speaking after the task, Krishna called the experience 'a big lesson of life", noting how much effort goes into everyday rural work.
For Krishna, this is not a Bollywood debut but another step in her growing television career. Known for her fitness videos and active social media presence, she has appeared in shows like Khatron Ke Khiladi before taking on Chhoriyan Chali Gaon. The current show has her swapping gyms for grain fields and kettlebells for cow dung paddies, an unexpected turn that has both shocked and impressed fans.
The clip, widely shared on social media, has sparked discussions about celebrity adaptability and the contrast between urban glamour and rural grit.

Gorakhpur : The sacred festival of Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with traditional fervour and devotion at the Gorakhnath Temple in the presence of Chief Minister and Gorakshapeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath . Arriving from Lucknow late on Saturday night, the CM led the midnight rituals marking the divine appearance of Lord Krishna. At the temple, the CM first paid homage at Guru Gorakhnath's shrine and bowed before the samadhi of his spiritual guru, Mahant Avaidyanath. The festivities began with soulful bhajans at the Mahant Digvijayanath Smriti auditorium, where children dressed as Radha and Krishna added a colourful and festive charm to the atmosphere. The CM interacted warmly with them, showering affection, sharing light-hearted moments, and presenting toys and chocolates. As the clock struck midnight, the temple premises echoed with the sounds of conch shells, bells, and devotional chants. CM Yogi carried the idol of infant Krishna from the sanctum sanctorum and placed him in a floral cradle. He then performed the ceremonial jhulan (swing ritual), followed by the traditional aarti and the joyous singing of 'Nand Ghar Anand Bhayo' and other hymns. The event witnessed the participation of prominent personalities, including Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan, MP Vijay Dubey, BJP MLC Dharmendra Singh, and saints from Ayodhya and Varanasi. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple, offering prayers and witnessing the rituals. Competitions in Krishna–Radha attire drew enthusiastic participation, with prizes awarded to children across different categories. A devotional evening of bhajans, led by noted folk singer Rakesh Srivastava and his troupe, captivated the gathering with traditional renditions of sohar and other folk hymns, adding to the spiritual fervour of the occasion. During the celebration at the temple, MP Ravi Kishan sang bhajans and broke into an impromptu dance during the evening programme. Nandotsav rituals mark Lord Krishnas birth at temples in Mathura, Vrindavan
Mathura (UP), Aug 17 (PTI) Temples in Mathura and Vrindavan on Sunday reverberated with festivities as they celebrated Nandotsav, a celebration marking the joy on Lord Krishna's birth held a day after Janmashtami. Gyanendra Kishor Goswami, a priest at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, said expressions of joy form an integral part of devotion in the Brijbhoomi. 'A mixture of curd and turmeric is used to symbolise infant Krishna's mischief. In a ritual known as 'dadhikandha', this mixture is playfully thrown on the devotees," Goswami said. During the celebrations, toys, clothes, jewellery and money were flung from the sanctum sanctorum for the devotees to collect as 'prasad', a tradition commemorating Nand Baba's delight at Lord Krishna's birth, he added. Earlier in the day, a 'Mangl Aarti' was performed at the Banke Bihari temple after the ceremonial 'Mahaabhishek'. At the Shri Krishna Janmasthan in Mathura, the Bhagwat Bhavan was decorated as Nand Bhawan, which echoed with chants of 'Nand ghar anand bhayo, jai Kanhaiya Lal ki' along with devotional songs. Kapil Sharma, secretary of the Shri Krishna Janmasthan Seva Sansthan, said toys, clothes, sweets and utensils were distributed among the devotees as prasad. Similar rituals were held at Vrindavan's Sapt Devalaya. At the Dwarkadhish temple, the deities were adorned as Nand Baba and Ma Yashoda. 'The festival reflects the joy of Krishna's parents at his birth. Items are distributed to the devotees on this occasion to share the happiness," Rakesh Tiwari, the temple's media and legal advisor, said. Last Updated: Crathie Kirk is the Royal Family's usual place of worship when they stay at Balmoral. The King and Queen are in Scotland for their yearly holiday. King Charles and Queen Camilla were pictured at Balmoral for the first time this summer, with the King driving her to a church service on Sunday. The Queen sat beside him in the passenger seat as they went to Crathie Kirk church, which is near the castle. Charles looked relaxed as he waved to people while driving his Audi Q8 e-tron electric SUV to the service. Camilla smiled as she joined him in greeting the public and photographers. The King and Queen dressed smartly for the Sunday service. King Charles, 76, wore a camel coat over his usual suit and tie. Queen Camilla wore a stylish hat with green and black feathers that matched her outfit, GB News reported. Crathie Kirk is the Royal Family's usual place of worship when they stay at Balmoral. The King and Queen are in Scotland for their yearly holiday. The trip usually starts in August, but Charles's holiday was delayed because he was leading the Victory over Japan Day commemorations. VJ Day, observed on August 15, marks the end of World War Two worldwide. On Friday, the King and Queen attended a ceremony at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to mark the day. They were joined by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, members of VJ associations, military personnel, and senior politicians for the national remembrance service. The King laid a wreath in honour of those who died and held a two-minute silence. While at the event, Camilla was moved to tears when a 105-year-old war veteran paid tribute to Charles in his speech. Yavar Abbas saluted 'my brave king" as he added a personal message. He spoke directly to King Charles and praised him for attending despite his ongoing cancer treatment. The veteran also said that the King's late grandfather, King George VI, would have been proud of him. King George VI, who was Queen Elizabeth II's father, struggled with lung cancer for years before passing away in 1952. view comments First Published: August 17, 2025, 22:57 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
