Meghan Markle and Prince Harry set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be about to make even more money next year, according to reports. However, despite their potential goldmine offer, it's thought it's not all good news for the Sussexes.
Their deal with Netflix was reportedly set to come to an end after running out this year. It was said to be bagging the former Royals in the region of £75million.
But after less than impressive viewing figures in return for both Meghan's With Love, Meghan series and Harry's documentary about polo, it was suggested the streaming giants were ready to go their separate ways. However, this is said to be far from the truth, with Netflix's boss Ted Sarandos still seemingly keen to work with the pair.
According to Mail Online, Ted's support of Meghan can be the pair's "secret weapon". Reporter Alison Bishoff says: "There will be a third series of the Duchess's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, if she wants to make one. And I hear she does."
She claims the duo's link-up with the streamer could see them in line with the huge deal that Barack and Michelle Obama currently hold. And it's said future programmes from the former Suits star could show an inside look into the festive periods of the pair, with any announcement to follow the second series of With Love, Meghan.
However, while their on-screen showings are seemingly set to continue, the publication claims their own large team at Archewell Production could see some in-house belt tightening. There had been talk of projects including a rom–com film based on the book Meet Me At The Lake and a retelling of Charles Dickens's Great Expectations being produced by the company.
But this may no longer be the case. "Many believe they will just go on ice – forever – as the Sussex team has not yet come up with a script which appeals enough to Netflix bosses Ted Sarandos and Bela Bajaria to get the green light," the Mail says.
With Love, Meghan disappointed with a lowly ranking of 383 in Netflix's most-watched titles between January and June 2025. The wholesome series pulled in just 5.3million viewers worldwide since it was first broadcast in March.
It showed Meghan cooking, gardening and hosting A-list pals on-screen, but in an embarrassing exchange, repeats of the former actress's old TV drama, Suits, in which she starred before meeting Harry, placed higher.
And it was reported earlier in the month that the streaming platform has decided not to renew the contract it holds with the Sussexes once it runs out in a few months time.
They are believed to have signed a five-year deal worth around $100million in September 2020.
However, despite the rumours, it remains uncertain as to the pair's partnership with the company.

Arnold Schwarzenegger 's Netflix action-comedy Fubar has been cancelled after just two seasons. The show, in which he starred alongside Monica Barbaro and Fortune Feimster, was the actor's — who recently celebrated his 78th birthday — first foray into television. According to Deadline, the series was dropped by the streamer amid a drop in viewership following its June 12 season two premiere. The first season debuted in May 2023 and saw 11 million views in its premiere weekend, while the second installment had only 2.2 million in the same time frame. Schwarzenegger announced that he would be starring in Fubar in 2021. At the time he said: 'Fans from all over the world have been asking me for a wild ride like this for years, and now they're finally going to get it because of our great partners at Skydance and Netflix. I am beyond pumped to start work on the show with [creator] Nick [Santora] and Monica and the whole team.' The spy drama featured Schwarzenegger as Luke, a CIA Operative who uncovers a family secret just before he plans to retire. Barbaro starred as his daughter as he returns to work to complete one final job. It also starred Milan Carter, Gabriel Luna, Travis Van Winkle, and Jay Baruchel among others. In addition to creator, Nick Santora was showrunner and executive producer, alongside Schwarzenegger. Last August the show was accused of plagiarism. A major plot point in the action series revolved around a supermarket app invented by Schwarzenegger's character's son. But entrepreneur and former rock star Aharon Jason Curtis claimed in legal letters obtained by that he came up with the idea for the app, called Aisle, in 2015. The app tells users where grocery store items are located, plots a route through the store, reminds users of items they forgot, and allows them to scan bar codes. Curtis, 55, said he only told two people: his manager at the time, who 'now works as a writer specializing in scripts for action films and streaming series,' and a friend 'who is now a writer working at Netflix in Los Angeles.' He said he was 'shocked' when he turned on the TV in September 2023 and saw his app idea featured in Fubar. 'Mr. Curtis is prepared to forego litigation and provide a full release for a payment of $1.5 million,' his lawyer's letter said. 'If we don't hear from you, we intend to promptly commence a court action to vindicate Mr. Curtis' rights.'

Wednesday to Hunting the Yorkshire Ripper: the seven best shows to stream this week
It's a new term at Nevermore, and for the first time in her life, Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) is dying to go back to school. After all, she's a minor celebrity now and dealing with autograph hunters ('I only ever sign my name in blood. I never said it was my own blood'). However, things are about to get much worse for Wednesday. Like every kid, she dreads the arrival of her family at school, but not only are her parents around more – her troublesome brother Pugsley and formidable grandmother Hester also soon become fixtures. Once again, it's stylish, smart and witty. However you feel about Tim Burton, it's hard to argue that his maximalist gothic style isn't absolutely perfect for this material. Netflix, from Wednesday 6 August The crimes of Peter Sutcliffe (and the flawed police investigation) have proved irresistible to documentary-makers, with the BBC and Netflix recently offering up versions of events. In truth, this latest series doesn't add much to our understanding of Sutcliffe's crimes, though it does broaden to examine the infamous 'Wearside Jack' tape that was sent to police by a man claiming to be the killer. Former DCS Chris Gregg – who assembled a team to catch the hoaxer – is interviewed about his career-long involvement with the case. Prime Video, from Sunday 3 August As represented in TV dramas, cold cases are often glamorous and mysterious. This documentary series shows the reality is sadder, if frequently no less intriguing. It focuses on the work of the DNA Doe Project, a US organisation that, in partnership with law enforcement agencies, uses detective work and genetic investigation to offer the relatives of some of the estimated 50,000 unidentified bodies lying in American morgues a measure of closure. It's a necessarily melancholy affair but also somewhat stirring in its depiction of tireless, valuable service. Disney+, from Wednesday 6 August A third series for this accomplished animation that follows the exploits of the Prouds, an upwardly mobile African American family who mix cartoonish hijinks with strong, slightly earnest moral messaging about identity and hot-button social justice issues. Trudy is worried about screentime and it isn't just her kids who can't put down their phones – her husband Oscar is hardly setting a good example. Cue a decision to live more consciously and to take a family holiday to London, Paris and Nairobi that becomes life-changing for everyone involved. As we return, Will is preparing to marry Jenna but admits to Sylvia that he has a crush on someone else. The fear that it might turn out to be Sylvia herself soon passes but, even so, is this another symptom of Will's inability to commit to adult life? So thank goodness, finally, for House of Cats, a three-parter of snappy episodes which is hosted by comic Ivo Graham and social media personality, and qualified veterinary surgeon, Cat the Vet. Fittingly, there's no hint of a cash prize here; instead the winning partnership will take home a golden litter tray. Given that cats are notoriously much harder to organise than dogs, they will have certainly earned it. Channel 4, from Thursday 7 August From Walter Presents, this daft but moderately creepy mystery drama from France stars Fantine Harduin as the titular teenager. When Promethea is hit by a car, she eventually wakes from a coma with no recollection of anything but her unusual name. Gradually, her memory starts to return but that proves to be a mixed blessing as a series of disturbing revelations about an unsolved recent murder start to spill out. At first, it seems that Promethea might have witnessed this killing – but could her involvement have been even more hands-on? Channel 4, from Friday 8 August
