Miley Cyrus Earns Multiple Comeback Smashes As Her New Album Debuts

Forbes17 hours ago

As Miley Cyrus's new album Something Beautiful debuts on charts around the world, one tune from the project has emerged as a standout success: "Easy Lover." The song has made its way onto a number of rankings, including several in the United Kingdom, where fans have shown their love for the singer by purchasing the focus cut in large numbers.
Both Something Beautiful and "Easy Lover" debut simultaneously, and a handful of tracks by Cyrus break back onto various tallies in the region, becoming top performers and powerful sellers once again during this exciting frame for the superstar.
Cyrus introduced Something Beautiful with its lead single "End of the World," which first arrived this spring. This week, the track returns to the Official Singles chart in the U.K., landing at No. 83.
The composition also soars on two other tallies — thanks, it seems, to a dramatic increase in purchases. "End of the World" reappears inside the top 40 on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts. It jumps from No. 78 to No. 31 on the former and from No. 82 to No. 34 on the latter.
At the moment, only two tracks from Something Beautiful are present on the U.K. charts. Meanwhile, what may be Cyrus's most famous tune becomes a bestseller once again.
"Flowers" reenters both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts, appearing in the lower reaches at Nos. 89 and 93, respectively. The track, which took over the planet in 2023 and introduced her album Endless Summer Vacation, has spent more than 100 weeks on each list. It regularly falls off of, and then returns to, these rankings, with its fate largely determined by the level of competition.

Chance for toddlers to meet TV favourite at Himley Hall event

TODDLERS will have the chance to meet a TV favourite at a popular family event this summer. Under 5s Day returns to Himley Hall and Park on Friday, June 27, offering a full day of fun and activities for young children. Duggee, the star of the CBeebies show Hey Duggee, will be making special appearances throughout the day. Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member responsible for borough events, said: "Under 5s Day is a hugely popular event at Himley Hall during the summer. "Once again there will be plenty for youngsters to enjoy and this year we will be delighted to welcome our special guest Duggee, who I am sure will be extremely popular. "I would advise booking early to avoid disappointment as tickets are limited." The event, held in association with Connect2Dudley, runs from 10am to 3pm and is designed for babies and toddlers. Activities include a petting zoo, Lego play area, giant tortoises, Punch and Judy shows, a funfair and a giant sandpit. The main stage will host interactive singing and dancing sessions, while free taster sessions will be available throughout the day, including Wild Earth Movement, Art Venturers, Jiggly Wrigglers and Tumble Tots. A quiet zone will be on offer with SENstation, along with information stands, stalls and mobile catering. Tickets start at £6 for toddlers aged six to 18 months. A family ticket for two adults and two children is available for £25. For further details and to book, visit the Himley Hall and Park website.

Former Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson might not have any plans to play her MCU role again, but she thinks it "would be fun" to direct a Marvel movie

Yelena (Florence Pugh) can whistle as hard as she likes, but Scarlett Johansson has made it clear that she has no plans on putting the iconic Black Widow wristbands back on and reprising her role in the MCU. After her character sacrificed herself to save the universe in Avengers: Endgame, her little sister has now taken over as the new ex-assassin wanting to go straight, and has been allowed to do so just recently by becoming one of the New Avengers in Thunderbolts. That doesn't mean that Johansson is ruling out returning to the MCU in a different capacity, though, with the former Avenger revealing she'd consider directing a future film in the franchise, instead. While attending Cannes with her recent directorial effort, Eleanor the Great, Johannson spoke about the possibility of popping back to the MCU with Deadline, after parting ways with it in 2021 with Black Widow, which gave her character a fond farewell. 'I think the movies that I like that are big action movies that also have the human connectivity piece," she explained. "Even producing Black Widow and being a part of the production of that, and the development of the story, and the story between Natasha and Yelena… [there is] I think, a way of doing it, a way of maintaining the integrity of the idea of human connection, family, disappointment, all of the things that were themes in [Eleanor the Great], and doing it in a giant way in a giant universe — there's ways of doing that… So, yeah, definitely, it could be, it would be fun.' Her new film still has ties to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (although it's hard for any film not to nowadays). Former Flag-Smasher Erin Kellyman stars alongside June Squibb in this heartfelt story of a remarkable friendship. Squibb plays the titular Eleanor, who moves to New York and befriends a 19-year-old student (Kellyman). The film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jessica Hecht. While there's no release date just yet for a pivotal moment in the actor and now director's career, you can check out 50 other cool Scarlett Johansson moments here.
