Yungblud to release Idols album in June

Perth Now06-05-2025

Yungblud is set to release his new album in June.
The 27-year-old music star has announced plans to release 'Idols', his fourth studio album, on June 20, and the 12-track record has been described as Yungblud's most ambitious album to date.
The singer - whose real name is Dominic Harrison - said: "I wanted to make a project that didn't focus on singles or anything else except feeling and world-building … A project with no limitations."
Yungblud actually produced the new album a few miles from where he grew up in Leeds, in northern England, because he wanted to minimise distractions during the recording process.
The album explores a variety of themes, including hero-worship and seeking validation.
Yungblud - who released his debut album, '21st Century Liability', back in 2018 - said: "We turn to others for an identity before turning to ourselves. Self-belief, self-reclamation, self-evolution and change. As we grow up, we lose our belief in magic and mystery. We begin to rationalise everything; our cage walls build up.
"We compare ourselves to 15 different people before we've even had our breakfast."
Asked to describe his new record, Yungblud replied: "A love letter to self-reclamation … to rock music … [and] to life; in all it's f****** madness."
The upcoming album will feature 'Lovesick Lullaby', the single that Yungblud released in April.
'Idols' will actually be the first part of a double album, with the release date of part two yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Yungblud previously admitted that he relishes the experience of touring with new music.
The singer - who worked as an actor before his music career took off - actually enjoys the challenge of having a jam-packed touring schedule.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column, Yungblud explained: "People moan about being in a band but we f****** love it. We love travelling, playing rock 'n' roll shows, partying. We're lucky and we won't forget that. We've got the best fans.
"I believe we put on the best rock 'n' roll show, under 30, on the planet right now. We'll have a nervous breakdown when we're 30. But it's just great at the minute."

Ed Sheeran reveals why he's 'private' about his kids

Ed Sheeran is "very, very private" about his children. The 34-year-old pop star admits that it's difficult to raise a family while living in the public eye. Ed - who has daughters Lyra, four, and Jupiter, two, with his wife Cherry Seaborn - said on The Louis Theroux Podcast: "I'm very, very private about my children's image ... I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them. "There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?" Ed pointed out that his kids "have not signed up" to the pitfalls of fame and success. The Perfect hitmaker explained: "People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that." Despite his best efforts, Ed admits that it's impossible to shield his children from fame all of the time. The award-wining star prefers to take commercial flights because of environmental concerns, but he conceded that it can lead to problems. Ed said: "We're flying back on Ryanair from a gig in Italy last year but all of my fans who'd been at the gig were flying back! "I like the environment, I like trees. I'd find it hard to justify. No one's perfect. When we're doing intense promo trips, there will be the odd time [taking a private jet]." Ed believes his music career peaked with his Divide album back in 2017. But he's actually feels much happier now. He explained: "I kind of feel I had my peak with Divide and I'm kind of coasting now. I don't know if I'll ever get back up there again but [when I had] that level of fame, that was my unhappiest [time]. "I'm much happier with the balance I've got now." Ed previously admitted that fame has left him feeling like a "zoo animal" at times. He told The Sun newspaper: "You feel like a zoo animal. I don't mean to complain, I have a cool job and life. But I just want to avoid that."

Meghan Markle's lucrative new business move revealed

Meghan Markle is planning to add hotels and restaurants to her growing business empire after trademarking it for 'hospitality services'. The Duchess of Sussex is expanding her lifestyle brand, As Ever, to include places to stay, 'provision of food and drink' and temporary lodgings, according to The Sun. The former actress could serve some of her own food creations — including recipes flaunted on her Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan'. Experts say it showed the 43-year-old royal's ambition to move forward and focus on the future, while husband Prince Harry, 40, seems stuck reflecting on the past. The 'Suits' alum has spent the year rebranding herself away from runaway royal to a lifestyle, entertaining and star hostess. Brand experts said hotels and restaurants fit in with her lifestyle business image. RELATED:'Misfit': Neighbours unleash on Meghan Insane amount Meghan, Harry pay staff Staggering fortune Harry, Meghan lost exposed In the first episode of her eight-part TV series released in March, Meghan said: 'When I have someone stay, one of my favourite things to do is prep the guest room'. A second series has already been filmed and will be released in the autumn. Her lifestyle brand's website says: 'As Ever is more than a brand — it's a love language. 'Created by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, As Ever welcomes you to a collection of products, each inspired by her long-lasting love of cooking, entertaining and hostessing.' On Saturday, her As Ever page posted a new picture of her running through the sea in a white dress. It was captioned: 'So excited for all the good to come! 'Running into the weekend like', with an ocean wave emoji added. 'CALIFORNIAN ROYALTY' Meghan's As Ever Instagram page launched in February. Posts include pictures of her gardening, preparing fresh fruit and baking. PR and branding expert Jack Izzard, of Gallia Communications, said of her trademark application: 'In terms of positioning, it's not a million miles from where As Ever is. 'She is very much positioning herself as a star hostess, Californian royalty who makes her guests feel welcome. 'The issue she's potentially going to have is that's a completely different skill set, running a hospitality business. 'A night in an As Ever B&B will be several hundred pounds. That's really going to blow up if it's bad.' Mr Izzard said her recent activities are 'all about her reclaiming her voice' and building her brand. He added: 'She always intimated she was stifled by life in the Royal Family. 'She's got to earn a living. It's very much 'I'm this Californian hostess now'. 'Harry's still stuck in the past and trying to settle scores. She is looking ahead, forging this brand.' The Sun approached the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for comment. Katie Price brings back Jordan in lucrative AI deal

Katie Price is resurrecting her alter-ego Jordan after signing a lucrative deal to trademark an AI recreation of her younger self. The 47-year-old former glamour shot to fame as Jordan back in the 1990s but she gradually retired the name as she moved into TV work later in her career, but Katie is now bringing her back using the latest technology as part of a six-figure deal with American AI company OhChat which is recreating her image and voice. Katie told The Sun newspaper: "The Jordan days were the best days of my life. This AI move is so clever. It's a genius move. "It's also a way for me to feel like her again. Jordan's back and now I'm in competition with Jordan. "I love it and they've really captured my voice and personality - you see me moving and everything. It's scarily weird but fascinating." She added: "I couldn't be more excited to bring back the iconic Jordan, someone who I hold near and dear to my heart, and who my fans have been asking to see again. "From my digital twin styling to its tone of voice, I wanted to be involved every step of the way to create the most authentic experience possible for my fans. Jordan is back, and my fans will absolutely love this." The AI firm gave Katie was 30 phrases to record so experts could recreate her voice with the former model. Katie has been teasing the June 9 launch date on her social media channels and gave fans a brief taster in an Instagram video which was narrated by her AI self, which is heard saying: "Oi, oi it's Jordan here. You've seen me in the papers, but tomorrow I'm coming off the page ... " Another video declared: "No more looking at those cheeky mags. In three days you can have me all to yourself." Reports suggest this new money-spinning deal will help boost Katie's bank balance considerably after a tough few years. She made millions at the height of her fame, but her fiances dwindled in decent years and she was declared bankrupt twice as her debts spiralled out of control. The Sun reports Katie is planning to put together a photoshoot in which she will be seen posing alongside her "digital twin" and is considering a TV special in which she could interview the AI version of Jordan.
