Ed Sheeran reveals why he's 'private' about his kids
Ed Sheeran is "very, very private" about his children.
The 34-year-old pop star admits that it's difficult to raise a family while living in the public eye.
Ed - who has daughters Lyra, four, and Jupiter, two, with his wife Cherry Seaborn - said on The Louis Theroux Podcast: "I'm very, very private about my children's image ... I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them.
"There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?"
Ed pointed out that his kids "have not signed up" to the pitfalls of fame and success.
The Perfect hitmaker explained: "People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that."
Despite his best efforts, Ed admits that it's impossible to shield his children from fame all of the time.
The award-wining star prefers to take commercial flights because of environmental concerns, but he conceded that it can lead to problems.
Ed said: "We're flying back on Ryanair from a gig in Italy last year but all of my fans who'd been at the gig were flying back!
"I like the environment, I like trees. I'd find it hard to justify. No one's perfect. When we're doing intense promo trips, there will be the odd time [taking a private jet]."
Ed believes his music career peaked with his Divide album back in 2017. But he's actually feels much happier now.
He explained: "I kind of feel I had my peak with Divide and I'm kind of coasting now. I don't know if I'll ever get back up there again but [when I had] that level of fame, that was my unhappiest [time].
"I'm much happier with the balance I've got now."
Ed previously admitted that fame has left him feeling like a "zoo animal" at times.
He told The Sun newspaper: "You feel like a zoo animal. I don't mean to complain, I have a cool job and life. But I just want to avoid that."

David Beckham 'honoured' by new project days after knighthood reports
David Beckham is "honoured" to be the next guest editor of Country Life magazine. The 50-year-old retired footballer - who bought a £16 million Cotswolds mansion with wife Victoria, 51, in 2016 - is excited to share his passion for the countryside with the publication's readers. He said in a statement: "I am honoured to have been invited to guest edit an edition of a magazine that I have always admired and read. "I am really looking forward to working with the editorial team to produce an issue that will celebrate what the countryside and the great British landscape means to me and my family.' The one-off edition of the magazine is said to include David's best-loved recipe, along with his own rural champions along with those who have helped at his countryside home. The Manchester United legend will also offer an insight into the role the countryside plays in his life. David - who is an avid supporter of the British monarchy - is following in the footsteps of King Charles, who has been guest editor twice, in 2013 and 2018 to mark his 65th and 70th birthdays. In 2020, the Princess Royal was in charge of an issue celebrating her 70th birthday, and the Queen - then known as the Duchess of Cornwell - marked her own 75th birthday three years ago with a special edition. Last week, it was reported David will be awarded a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours List, which is set to be announced on Saturday (14.06.25). David has been married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham - with whom he has Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and 13-year-old Harper Seven - since 1999 and The Sun reported that she will become known as Lady Victoria Beckham once her husband is knighted. David will join a select list of his fellow sports stars who have already received the honour, including the likes of the late Sir Bobby Charlton and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson. According to the outlet, David "narrowly missed out" on receiving a knighthood in 2024, and the honour instead went to former England manager Gareth Southgate. In 2003, he was given an OBE by the late Queen Elizabeth for services to football. The former Premier League star has a long history of charitable work, which Honours Committee officials will have considered before deciding to bestow him with the honour.

Ed Sheeran has 24-hour security to shield his family from 'dangerous people'
Ed Sheeran has "24-hour security" guarding his family because there are "lots of dangerous people out there". The pop star has insisted on tough security measures at his expansive property in Suffolk - where he lives with his wife Cherry and their two daughters - as well as bodyguards when they are all out and about because a "couple of weird things" have happened over the years including an attempted break-in. During an appearance on 'The Louis Theroux Podcast', Ed explained: "I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids. "I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened.' Just so you know there's lots of dangerous people out there. We've had like you know a break-in attempt. "In my industry, that's normal. That's kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye." Ed and Cherry are parents to Lyra, four, and Jupiter, two, and the singer is determined to stop his kids being photographed because he wants to protect their privacy for as long as possible. He added: "I'm very, very private about my children's image ... I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them. "There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?" Ed pointed out that his kids "have not signed up" to the pitfalls of fame and success. The Perfect hitmaker explained: "People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that." The singer went on to insist that he prefers to take commercial flights rather than hide away on private jets but it can lead to problems. He explained: "We're flying back on Ryanair from a gig in Italy last year but all of my fans who'd been at the gig were flying back! "I like the environment, I like trees. I'd find it hard to justify. No one's perfect. When we're doing intense promo trips, there will be the odd time [taking a private jet]."
