Miss World organisers hit back over walkout contestant's 'exploited' claims

Daily Mirror27-05-2025

Miss England Milla Magee, 24, has accused Miss World organisers of placing her in 'vulnerable' situations with wealthy investors - the competion has hit back and released a video of Milla in response
Miss World organisers have denied allegations from Miss England who claimed that she was exploited and 'farmed out for entertainment' at the pageant in India. Just days before the finale of the competition, Miss England Milla Magee quit the contest because it was "outdated" and went against her morals.
The 24-year-old, from Newquay, Cornwall, said she left the pageant on May 16, originally stating it was due to "personal reasons". But now she has revealed that she used her mother's health to escape the competition, which was being held in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad. According to Milla, the participants were made to 'sit like performing monkeys'.

She further claimed that contestants were forced to "entertain" middle-aged male investors at extravagant dinners, as a way to say "thank you" for sponsorships. The beauty queen said she felt "like a prostitute" during her time in the competition and said she had to get away from it all.

She told The Sun: 'I found that unbelievable. I remember thinking, 'This is so wrong'. I didn't come here to be farmed out for people's entertainment. Miss World is supposed to have the same values, but it's outdated and stuck in the past.
"They made me feel like a prostitute. I was feeling vulnerable after the appalling way we had been treated and I just needed to go home, I couldn't stay in a contest that did not appear to me to be morally right."
Following the allegations, Miss World has since released video footage of Milla praising the competition. "You were all so accommodating. The gratitude I have for you all is so overwhelming. I'm so grateful for you hosting us here," she said in the video posted on Instagram.
However, Milla responded to the footage and said: "In that situation we had to do what we were told and if someone points a camera in your face and tells you to smile then you are going to do it."

Miss World disputed the allegations and issued a statement online. CEO Julia Morley branded the claims as "defamatory'. The statement said: "Earlier this month, Milla Magee requested to leave the competition due to a reported family emergency involving her mother's health.
As a mother and grandmother herself, Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman of Miss World, responded to Milla's situation with compassion and immediately arranged her return to England, placing the well-being of the contestant and her family first.
'Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that certain UK media outlets have published false and defamatory statements, allegedly made by Milla Magee, regarding her experience in India. These claims are completely unfounded and inconsistent with the reality of her time with us.
"In response, the Miss World Organisation is releasing unedited videos recorded during Milla's stay in India, in which she expresses gratitude, joy, and appreciation for the experience. These videos reflect her own words and sentiments and serve as a direct contradiction to the recent false narratives.'

Scott Wolf's wife of 21 years announces shock SPLIT with cryptic message to fans

After 21 years of marriage, Scott Wolf and his wife Kelley are headed for divorce. The longtime couple wed back in 2004 and are parents to three children. Kelley, 48, confirmed the divorce from the Party Of Five star, 57, in a cryptic Instagram post on Tuesday. 'It is with a heavy heart that Scott and I are moving forward with the dissolution of our marriage,' she began in a message to fans. 'This has been a long, quiet journey for me—rooted in hope, patience, and care for our children.' Kelley did not reveal the reason for the split but later spoke about 'healing' and finding 'freedom' in this next chapter of her life. She also referred to Scott as 'one of the best partners a woman could have the privilege of sharing life with' before asking fans to respect their family's privacy. Kelley, 48, confirmed the divorce from the Party Of Five star, 57, in a cryptic Instagram post on Tuesday Kelley's post continued: 'While I will not speak publicly about the details, I feel peace knowing that I've done everything I can to walk this path with integrity and compassion. 'Scott Wolf is one of the best fathers I've ever known and one of the best partners a woman could have the privilege of sharing life with. He is kind, thoughtful, funny, and beautiful in spirit. 'We both look forward to an extraordinary life centered around the most extraordinary children. 'My priority has always been their wellbeing—and my own healing. That will never change. 'I am stepping into a chapter of peace, freedom, and protection—with grace,' Kelley wrote. 'Thank you to the many friends, family, and professionals who have held space for me with love. 'Please respect our privacy during this time. May we all remember: healing isn't loud. It's sacred,' she concluded. Along with her heartfelt words, Kelley included an AI generated image of a lioness with three eagles flying overhead. Scott has yet to publicly address his and Kelley's shock split. Fans immediately flocked to the comments on Kelley's post, with one admitting that they 'sensed [the divorce] was coming.' 'Always sad to hear when a beautiful couple doesn't make it. Peace filled hearts to you both,' another penned. Many marveled at maturity with which Kelley handled the divorce announcement. 'This has to be the most heartwarming conscious uncoupling I've ever read. The depth of thought, compassion, kindness, and maturity should be an example and inspiration to all others parting ways,' one comment read. Just one week prior to Tuesday's divorce announcement, Scott and Kelley celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. The couple did not publicly honor the milestone on their respective social media pages. The year prior, Kelley made a concerning revelation while paying tribute to Scott on their 20th wedding anniversary. The reality TV star revealed that she 'almost walked out' the relationship early in their engagement when she noticed Scott starting to 'poke at me, challenge me.' 'The first few times, I wrote it off as stress or the beginnings of getting to know somebody's idiosyncrasies,' Kelley wrote. 'But then, I had this feeling come back to me that I had in the past. It was a feeling that I didn't like, and a feeling, I had worked very hard to process, heal, and make sure I noticed when/if it ever came again. 'It was the feeling of self betrayal. It was the feeling of bending myself in order to accommodate another person even when I knew that I had done nothing wrong.' She said that she previously experienced 'this feeling' in a past 'toxic relationship.' 'My old pattern had returned. I was scrambling to make myself more accommodating, less aggravating, whatever it was that seem to be pushing him away. And then I woke up one morning and said 'wait a minute' I've done this game before and I'm not doing this again,' she wrote. Kelley recalled taking off her engagement ring and handing it to Scott before telling him that she 'will not stick around while somebody tries to excavate fault in me.' 'I turned around and walked towards the door. And like I had done before in my life, I was ready to walk out the door with the girl that I promised to save.' When left with the possibility of losing her forever, Kelley said that Scott stepped up and fought for their relationship. 'But, this love story wasn't over. Scott looked at me, and some thing happened… 'He said, "You are really going to leave. I believe you. I can see it. I can feel it. And there is no chance in hell I am going to let that happen, so let's do this,"' Kelley recalled. '"Let's do this hard part, the uncomfortable part. The part where I have to look in the mirror and see my old pattern where I have tried to find fault in somebody in the hopes that I would prove that nobody can really do the hard stuff and stick around."' 'We all know that our patterns come from the things that have happened to us in life. Scott had never been shown what it looked like when LOVE really showed up.' Kelley said that after that moment she and Scott were 'more bonded, more connected, and more clear about the promise we were about to make to each other.' She said their wedding day was full of 'magic' and 'hope' and that her almost walking out the door 'set the stage for so many things' in their 20-year romance. 'Marriage, friendships, relationships of all kinds are a dance. Never to be a straight line. Never without plot, twists, and highs and lows,' she wrote. 'There is one thing we both learned that day, you have to be willing to love yourself the most to truly love somebody else, the most. And yes, like all amazing love stories, we continue to choose the power of love, over and over,' Kelley concluded.

Celebrity-owned beauty brand sends shoppers wild over must-have item with surprising feature: 'OMG yes I've been waiting for this

The brand only launched a little over a year ago, but it has already become a cult favourite in beauty circles. Now, TYPEBEA has unveiled its latest innovative product and fans are thrilled with the newest addition to the popular range. TYPEBEA, created by singer Rita Ora and Australian beauty entrepreneur Anna Lahey, has unveiled a dry shampoo containing the cult haircare brand's hero ingredient to promote growth. The G·5 3-in-1 Dry Shampoo not only refreshes and adds volume to hair, but it contains nourishing ingredients to support hair health and feels luxurious to use too. After teasing the latest drop across socials, fans were quick to share their joy when the dry shampoo was finally unveiled. One wrote:'Yes!!! Obsessed!' another shared: 'OMGGGG YAYYY,' while a third branded the buy simply 'Sensational'. Delivered in an ultra-fine mist, the dry shampoo is packed with ingredients that support hair growth and gentle exfoliants to ensure a cleansed scalp. The fast absorbing product soaks up oil, sweat and odour without leaving behind residue or white cast that many other brands do. G·5 3-in-1 Dry Shampoo's hero ingredient is a three per cent dose of Baicapil: a blend of scutellaria baicalensis (Baikal skullcap, a plant native to East Asia used in Traditional Chinese Medicine), soy and wheat sprouts. TYPEBEA's G·5 3-in-1 Dry Shampoo uses the brand's hero ingredient, Baicapil, to support healthy hair growth The potent formulation works to stimulate hair growth, increase hair density, reduce hair loss and support healthier looking hair. It includes Lactic Acid to gently exfoliate and removes excess product and dead skin cells. A buildup of these on the scalp leads to oily roots and can prevent healthy hair growth. Free from sulphates, silicones and parabens, the $50 product ($42.50 with a subscription) cleanses the scalp while absorbing oil and adding lift to the roots. Unlike other dry shampoos which can be damaging to hair and act to mask unclean tresses, TYPEBEA's G·5 3-in-1 Dry Shampoo, cleans, nourishes and protects. This allows users to benefit from the brand's TYPEBEA's signature scent of citrus, bergamot and wood ensure hair smells as fresh as it looks, while the formulation leaves strands soft and shiny. The potent formulation works to increase hair density and reduce hair loss by 60 per cent, while Lactic Acid gently exfoliates and removes excess product and dead skin cells Easy to use— you simply shake, spray roots from 15cm away, leave for a few moments, then brush through for refreshed and revived hair. The haircare brand's first product, the G·1 Overnight Boosting Peptide Hair Serum, became an instant bestseller. Customers reported 'visible regrowth' and 'less shedding' after using the $80 leave-in serum regularly. The hair growth range also includes a shampoo, conditioner and hydra-gloss treatment mask. TYPEBEA followed up the hugely successful launch collection with two styling products, which they released earlier this year. The S·1 Ultimate Styling Serum and the S·2 Sea Salt Texture Mist are formulated with performance-driven actives to deliver a 'quick-fix, flawless finish' that will cut your getting-ready routine down to mere moments. To buy G·5 3-in-1 Dry Shampoo and shop the full haircare range, visit the TYPEBEA website.
