Cat Deeley is seen for the 1st time since split from Patrick Kielty with friend

Cat Deeley has been spotted for the first time since her separation from Patrick Kielty was announced, following more than a decade of marriage. Cat, 48, and Patrick, 54, shared a joint statement confirming the shock split earlier this month and Cat has now been seen enjoying some time away in Spain. The This Morning host was seen out with a friend at a restaurant in Sitges on August 2, just days after Cat and Patrick announced their separation after 12 years of marriage. In a joint statement, the couple said: 'We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved. 'We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.' Cat's friend Ben Skervin, a freelance hairdresser with a raft of celebrity clients, shared a highlight reel of pictures and videos from his trip to Spain, describing it as 'an adventure'. Cat commented on the post: 'I love you'. A fellow diner at the restaurant where Cat and her friend were spotted told The Daily Mail: 'Cat looked a bit down and a touch crestfallen, not her usual spritely self, which is understandable given her marriage split. 'She clearly needed to be around her nearest and dearest during such a difficult time.' The So You Think You Can Dance host has been a staple of British TV since the late 1990s and moved out to the US with her family to present the dance competition. She took over from Holly Willoughby on This Morning alongside Ben Shepard in 2024, having moved back to the UK in 2020. Patrick took over from Ryan Tubridy as the host of The Late Late Show on Ireland's RTE One channel in 2023. In 2003, Patrick co-presented the talent competition show Fame Academy on BBC One alongside his future wife Cat. More Trending Slowly the friendship between developed into a relationship and in 2012 they wed at an intimate ceremony in Rome, Italy. The former couple have two sons: Milo born in January 2016 and James who arrived two years later in June 2018. Cat and her family now reside in a £4.9 million 1950s home in leafy Hampstead, with Harry Styles as one of their famous neighbours. Patrick Kielty's family tell of sad moment they knew Cat Deeley marriage was over

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The family of Patrick Kielty are believed to have pinpointed the moment his marriage to Cat Deeley was over, and it's a revelation that has reportedly left them fuming. Last month, the television pair released a joint statement confirming their separation. They stated: "We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved, reports the Mirror. "We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment." Despite the seemingly amicable announcement, it's reported that an action by This Morning presenter Cat, 48, deeply upset 54 year old Patrick's family. Cat's absence at the funeral of Patrick's mother Mary in March is said to have angered the Kielty clan, and they believe this incident signalled the end of the couple's relationship. A family member told the Daily Mail: "Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something as momentous as his mother's funeral, you would makeup even temporarily and just put your 'best face' on as we say in Northern Ireland." "Cat obviously knew how close Patrick was to Mary and she should have come to be by his side, a hand on his shoulder as he buried his mother. The fact that she stayed in London and presented This Morning on the day, it's not been forgotten." And the source maintained people remain stunned by Cat's behaviour, stating: "It was the point when we all realised that that marriage had ended." A spokesperson told Mirror at the time: "Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day." Patrick's relatives are now reportedly supporting the broadcaster as he processes what lies ahead. The pair had first crossed paths whilst co-presenting BBC's Fame Academy back in 2002. Nevertheless, they didn't step out publicly as a romantic item until nine years afterwards in 2011. Merely a year later in September 2012, they exchanged vows during a ceremony in Rome and welcomed two children together. Whilst Cat appears alongside Ben Shephard on This Morning, Northern Irish host Patrick fronts RTE chat show The Late Late Show, having succeeded Ryan Tubridy in 2023. When exactly the couple parted ways remains unknown. However, with the pair spending periods separated owing to clashing work commitments between Ireland and London, this is believed to have played a part in their separation. Cat's final Instagram mention of Patrick occurred in October 2023. On that occasion, she shared a quirky 90s-inspired collection of photos featuring them both. She captioned it: "Slightly terrifying but obsessed." The couple's last public outing was a month prior. She also posted a snapshot of the event on her social media, capturing their cheerful expressions as they prepared for the occasion and later mingled with the crowd. The clip also featured Patrick being warmly welcomed on stage.
