Metro18 hours ago
Cat Deeley has been spotted for the first time since her separation from Patrick Kielty was announced, following more than a decade of marriage.
Cat, 48, and Patrick, 54, shared a joint statement confirming the shock split earlier this month and Cat has now been seen enjoying some time away in Spain.
The This Morning host was seen out with a friend at a restaurant in Sitges on August 2, just days after Cat and Patrick announced their separation after 12 years of marriage.
In a joint statement, the couple said: 'We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.
'We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.'
Cat's friend Ben Skervin, a freelance hairdresser with a raft of celebrity clients, shared a highlight reel of pictures and videos from his trip to Spain, describing it as 'an adventure'. Cat commented on the post: 'I love you'.
A fellow diner at the restaurant where Cat and her friend were spotted told The Daily Mail: 'Cat looked a bit down and a touch crestfallen, not her usual spritely self, which is understandable given her marriage split.
'She clearly needed to be around her nearest and dearest during such a difficult time.'
The So You Think You Can Dance host has been a staple of British TV since the late 1990s and moved out to the US with her family to present the dance competition.
She took over from Holly Willoughby on This Morning alongside Ben Shepard in 2024, having moved back to the UK in 2020.
Patrick took over from Ryan Tubridy as the host of The Late Late Show on Ireland's RTE One channel in 2023.
In 2003, Patrick co-presented the talent competition show Fame Academy on BBC One alongside his future wife Cat. More Trending
Slowly the friendship between developed into a relationship and in 2012 they wed at an intimate ceremony in Rome, Italy.
The former couple have two sons: Milo born in January 2016 and James who arrived two years later in June 2018.
Cat and her family now reside in a £4.9 million 1950s home in leafy Hampstead, with Harry Styles as one of their famous neighbours.

Local outrage as topless Brit tourist caught riding cow in Tenerife

Shoppers were left stunned when the holidaymaker decided to mount the life-sized model bovine outside a popular Ale-Hop store in Playa Fañabé, Costa Adeje, causing consternation among locals Anglo-Iberian relations have taken another dent after a British man rode a well-known cow in Tenerife. ‌ Shoppers were left stunned when the holidaymaker decided to mount the life-sized model bovine outside a popular Ale-Hop store in Playa Fañabé, Costa Adeje. ‌ With the help of one of his two friends, the man was spotted climbing onto the plastic cow's back before bellowing, 'Yeehaw!' Within seconds, alarmed employees of a nearby shop ran over to remove the man from the cow. They then had to ensure that the tourists didn't steal the cow. It comes after 'the King of Benidorm' warned that Brits make the same mistake when the visit the city. ‌ The shop employees calmed the man, who had declared himself a "real cowboy", according to Canarian Weekly. He gave up on his attempts to remove the cow after giving it one big tug on its horns. The incident has caused ire among locals, who have been left unimpressed by the daytime antics. "It's called disrespect, but well, that's already normalized, like so many things," one wrote beneath a post online including the video. Another wrote: "That's the kind of tourism they send to the Canary Islands. It's like this everywhere, and then the British press is surprised by the protests that take place." The incident is not the first cow-related shock to cause alarm on the Canary island. Back in 2019, tourists visiting Tenerife were left baffled by the sight of dead cows floating in the sea and being washed up onto the beaches. The animals were spotted in areas popular for Brits over a seven-day period. One cow was washed up on the tourist beach of Playa de La Jaquita near the coastal resort of El Médano. Council workers were called to dispose of the carcass. The cow corpses came from freighters loaded with live cattle, which travelled from South America. Such boats are forbidden from mooring at some ports in Europe, including Las Palmas in Gran Canaria. If and when cows die during the crossing, they are tossed overboard. When it comes to alcohol-related incidents that have caused strife between Spaniards and Brits, there are plenty. Late-night brawls that have spilled onto the streets of Playa de las Américas have been a regular occurrence, as have visitors leaping into hotel pools fully clothed. A group of holidaymakers were fined for climbing onto a parked police car for photos back in 2023, around the same time that a stag party blocked traffic by staging an impromptu conga line over a busy roundabout in Costa Adeje.

Love Is Blind UK fans spot ‘huge red flag' as they beg star to stop ‘cringe' behaviour

Netflix viewers have already started binge watching Love Is Blind UK season 2 and they're already confused by one contestant's behaviour. *Warning - this article contains minor spoilers for Love Is Blind UK season 2.* ‌ Popular dating show Love Is Blind UK has returned for season 2, with viewers sitting down to watch the first four episodes of the Netflix series. ‌ While fans have already declared themselves 'obsessed' with the latest season, some have also taken to social media to call out one contestant for his 'red flag' behaviour. ‌ We are introduced to 'deeply spiritual' contestant Patrick in episode 1, where he begins to explore a connection with 29-year-old singer Aanu. Patrick, 33, who describes himself as a 'human design coach' speaks a lot about 'following his spleen' in his search for love. According to Netflix's Tudum: 'Deeply spiritual Patrick is guided by his spleen — yes, you read that correctly. He'll be relying on the organ to let him know if he's met the right woman, even through a wall. 'Patrick ended his longest relationship because he didn't know himself well enough, but after putting in the work and feeling secure about himself once again, love is what he's after.' Reacting to the bizarre concept and Patrick's constant references to his spleen, fans took to social media to express their doubts about the wellness professional. ‌ Posting a gif on X of someone running by holding a giant red flag, one person questioned: 'Patrick is a 'Life coach'?' 'Can someone tell him to stop mentioning the spleen,' another pleaded, as a third lamented: 'I never want to hear the word spleen again in my entire life.' 'The moment that guy talked about following his spleen, I would have been out of there,' another admitted, as one more simply wrote: 'Minister of Spleen is just cringe go away.' ‌ Another fan was particularly unimpressed, tweeting: 'Please the word 'spleen' is just making me cringe and feel physically sick. How many times are we going to have to hear this nonsense?' ‌ In episode one Patrick speaks about his spleen in detail, explaining: 'I have this thing where I follow my spleen. 'It might sound a bit weird but it's even more potent than your gut, and you follow it literally to the second. 'As soon as you have that feeling something's going to be good or bad, you just trust it. Listening to my spleen is the best way for me to find the love of my life.' It seems Patrick also left some of his pod dates perplexed by his 'spleen' chat, with her looking unsure as she replied: 'Oh… How interesting… Okay.' Meanwhile, Aanu seems keen to get to know Patrick - and his spleen - but will the pair make it past the pods? Keep watching to find out. Love Is Blind UK season 2 arrives on Netflix tomorrow, August 13.

British BMX trickster Kriss Kyle ‘puts mum and dad through hell' even before epic never-seen-before stunt with F1 car

Scottish hero reveals he lived illegally at skatepark aged 15 - with only rats for housemates and sweets for food JUMP START British BMX trickster Kriss Kyle 'puts mum and dad through hell' even before epic never-seen-before stunt with F1 car KRISS KYLE admitted he put his parents 'through hell' - even before he decided to risk death by 'playing chicken with an F1 car'. Scottish BMX rider Kyle, 33, took his daredevil exploits to the extreme, even by his lofty standards with his latest stunt. Kyle had the crazy idea two years ago and teamed up with sponsors Red Bull to make 'Can He Hop It?' happen, with the company providing Sebastian Vettel's 2011 title-winning RB7 V12 model motor plus the precision timings, given to the rider by a beep in his ear. After seven months of training, much of it centred around strengthening his legs including looking like a 'nutcase' walking the dog in a weighted vest, the initial date had to be aborted due to strong winds. So a back-up date was set at Goodwood, where - despite still some significant wind - Kyle had a 30-minute window and one take to pull off his monumental feat on the custom-built one-off titanium and carbon fibre bike. Kyle told SunSport: 'This was probably the scariest one that I have done so far. So many things could go wrong. 'All I need is a bad gust, and I'm not gonna make it, or be too early or too late. 'You could like hurt yourself, or you could die. It's so horrible but the feeling when you land it, that's why I do it, for the sheer feeling of that, it's like no other. 'I couldn't just go whenever I wanted to go, I needed to go when the beeper told me to go, otherwise I'd be dead. Advertisement 'It was almost impossible to get my reaction speed right, and there was no room for error, absolutely no room. 'When you're pedalling towards this screaming car, everything in your mind is saying, 'Get out of the way. What the hell are you doing?' 'You're playing a game of chicken with an F1 car. 'The car was doing 60km/h so about 40mph. Fast enough to do yourself in. Advertisement 'You have to trust the Red Bull timings are spot on, which obviously they are. You are trusting your life with other people. 'I was prepared to really hurt myself but was really hoping it was gonna be landed. I forgot to call my mum when I landed and she thought I was dead Kriss Kyle 'Parademics were there. There were two ambulances, one for me and one for the driver.' Kyle got into BMX-ing through his older brother and moved out of the family home in Stranraer at 14 without any qualifications, sofa-surfing 100 miles away in Dumbarton as the police tried to take them to court over his non-existent school attendance. Advertisement Then unbeknownst to his parents, he spent a year illegally living in the Unit 23 Skatepark - with rats for housemates and sweets for meals. Kyle explained: 'It was like super, super scary being in there by yourself. 'It was like a horror movie. 'F***, the amount of s*** I'd hear in there. I hated it. And it has certainly given him - and his loved ones - some hair-raising moments through the years. Kyle, who has escaped relatively unscathed by only breaking his ankle, toes, ribs and thumb, added: 'It's my job to think of these crazy ideas that no one's done before. Advertisement 'I skated in a floating skatepark 2,000ft in the air in a hot-air balloon and jumped out of a helicopter on to the top of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. 'I put my mum and dad through hell. I actually do. 'After the F1 car, my mum called me and was crying when I told her that I'd done it. 'When I'd done the skate park in the sky, she was crying then as well. I forgot to call her when I landed and she thought I was dead. Advertisement 'I put my wife through hell as well. And I've got a 16-month-old son now as well. 'I'm not making it easy on anyone or myself but they're super proud of me.' 9 9
