Panchayat 4's Rinki AKA Sanvikaa On Kissing Scene With Sachiv Ji, Played by Jitendra Kumar: 'It Felt…'
Rinki AKA Saanvika talks about a kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar in Panchayat Season 4.
The easy-going chemistry between Saanvika and Jitendra Kumar has become one of the talking points of Panchayat, the hit rural drama that continues to win over audiences with each season. But behind the scenes of Panchayat Season 4, the actress, who plays Rinki in the TVF OTT series, made a personal decision that changed a key moment in the script — she turned down a kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar.
Speaking in an interview with Just Too Filmy, Saanvika revealed that she was initially informed about a kiss between her character Rinki and Jitendra Kumar's Sachiv ji.
'In the beginning, no one said anything when the narration was done. But then director Akshat talked to me. He told that in this season we have inserted a scene where Sachiv ji and Rinki will kiss. Earlier the scene was different. Both of them are in the car, she falls down and then they kiss," she recalled.
Saanvika said she took some time to consider the request, reflecting on her comfort level as well as Panchayat's strong connection with family audiences.
'So I said give me two days to think whether I am comfortable doing it or not. Then I thought that 'Panchayat' has all kinds of audiences, but mostly family people. I was worried about how he would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time. But when we were shooting, they removed that scene, but they inserted the tank scene."
While the makers tried to reassure her about how the scene would be treated, the situation still felt awkward during filming. She said, 'They said that we will not shoot it in a vulgar way. But when we were shooting, it felt awkward. I became very uncomfortable, but Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar) is a very nice person. He makes you feel comfortable."
Earlier, in a chat with News18 Showsha, the actress had opened up on her chemistry with Jitendra Kumar on screen. She said, 'I think it's a very unsaid chemistry between us. It's give and take – we don't talk much, just the basics. But we understand each other while performing."
When is Panchayat Season 5 Release?
Earlier, Saanvika confirmed, 'The process for Panchayat Season 5 has begun," she confirmed. 'Hopefully, maybe by mid-next year or sometime next year, it will be released. And we are likely to begin the shoot for Season 5 maybe at the end of this year or next year. The writing has already started. So once the writing is done, we will start shooting."
