Will Ferrell knows he ruffled some feathers with his surprise appearance as Buddy the Elf at an NHL game in December.
In a moment that went viral, Ferrell, 57, dressed up as his lovable, innocent character from the 2003 holiday classic Elf — and watched the Los Angeles Kings play the Philadelphia Flyers while scowling, drinking beer and holding a cigarette.
'Some people were not too happy, though,' Ferrell tells PEOPLE. 'They thought, 'Please be true to the character. That was not cool.''
'Buddy was having a bad day. Yeah. He just went to a hockey game, smoked cigarettes and drank beer,' Ferrell jokes about the character's mindset.

He told Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce on the Jan. 10 episode of their podcast New Heights about what motivated him to make the appearance.
'That was just — I get these weird ideas every now and then. We're season ticket holders for the L.A. Kings. We have seats right on the glass, which are amazing," he said.
"I told my wife, 'Over the break, it would be funny if I just got a Buddy the Elf costume and didn't shave for like a week, and I'm just sitting there with a candy cigarette and I'm just gonna sit there for a period and see how people react.' And that was it.'
During Ferrell's PEOPLE interview with Reese Witherspoon, his costar in the new comedy You're Cordially Invited, she asks him if he still has the costume from the movie. When he replies that he doesn't, she asks, 'Where'd you get your Buddy costume? Amazon?'
'I did,' says Ferrell. 'People were commenting like, 'I love that he's just in a cheap Buddy costume from Amazon,' which is true.'

Ferrell jokes that he has other costumes from his films Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Blades of Glory, 'but they're all, like, shadow box framed.'
In his new movie You're Cordially Invited, he plays Jim, a proud father of a bride-to-be. He clashes with Margo (Witherspoon), whose sister is getting married at the same venue, which accidentally double-booked the weddings.
You're Cordially Invited is now streaming on Prime Video.

Kristin Cavallari Wears Cleavage-Baring Little Black Dress After Revealing She Had Her Breasts Redone

Kristin Cavallari showed off her updated breast augmentation in a figure-hugging black dress In May, the reality star revealed she had the procedure redone because she was unhappy with how her breasts looked Cavallari also revealed that, following the surgery, she discovered one of her implants had rupturedKristin Cavallari is showing off her new-and-improved breast augmentation. On Wednesday, June 4, the Laguna Beach alum, 38, stepped out in New York City to celebrate the premiere of her new reality show, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour. For an appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Cavallari wore a cleavage-baring black dress with a halter neckline. In an Instagram post, the star shows off her chest in a mirror selfie. The Uncommon James founder also shared a full-length shot of her outfit, as well as a close-up snap of her gold earring stack. Fans couldn't help but call out Cavallari's new physique. "The bewbies look hot mawma!!! Congrats 🙌🔥❤️" one user commented. "The boobs are boobingggggg 🔥," another shared. A third user had a message for the haters, writing, "People commenting about your boobs negatively= jealous! You look amazing and always have!" On the May 27 episode of her podcast, Let's Be Honest, Cavallari shared that she 'recently got my boobs redone' because she didn't like the way they looked — which she later learned was the result of a ruptured implant. The star said she went in for a consultation after she wasn't happy with the way her right breast was 'laying.' At first, she thought it was the result of gravity, explaining, 'Things happen so gradually. There wasn't a moment where I was like, 'My boobs look different,' or, like, 'My boobs aren't laying right.' I knew that my boobs were not laying how I wanted them to lay." 'Particularly the right one was not ... and I thought like maybe gravity over time had taken hold, but it just wasn't how I wanted it, right? It just wasn't ideal," she continued. Cavallari shared that she didn't learn about the condition of her implant until after the surgery. "There is no way of knowing how long this implant was ruptured for,' she said. 'My body then formed a huge piece of scar tissue around it ... that's why my right boob was definitely not laying right and it was f----- up. I had a ruptured implant, which is crazy to think about." ! 'I guess maybe I could go through my camera roll and like try to figure out when my boobs started going a little f------ cross-eyed,' she said. Cavallari noted that despite the scare, she "was not ready to take out" her implants. As she explained, "I'm 38, I'm still young, I have a whole life to live, I'm single." The reality star recently split from former NHL player Nate Thompson. "If I were in a long-term relationship, maybe I would take out my implants. I don't know, but I'm single right now." Cavallari added, "Right now in my life is when I need the best boobs imaginable. And so, you know, I'm sure some people won't understand that and that's okay — because it's not your body." Read the original article on People

Coldplay's Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson call it quits after nearly 8 years

If Coldplay 's rendition of 'Fix You' sounded especially mournful during the band's recent concerts at Stanford Stadium, it may be because frontman Chris Martin has officially parted ways with actress Dakota Johnson. In what appears to be a definitive end to one of Hollywood's more quietly enduring romances, the 48-year-old Coldplay singer and the 35-year-old 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star have split after nearly eight years of an on-and-off relationship, according to People. Martin and Johnson, who began dating in 2017, were last seen together in mid-May in Malibu, where they had shared a home since 2021. Despite that recent outing, sources told People the breakup 'feels final this time.' Representatives for the pair have not commented. The couple largely kept their relationship private, though it was occasionally illuminated by moments of public affection — most memorably in 2021, when Martin gave Johnson an onstage shoutout during a London concert. 'This is about my universe, and she's here,' he said, gesturing to Johnson before launching into Coldplay's BTS collaboration, 'My Universe.' Johnson, who partially grew up in San Francisco, previously shared that the couple enjoyed being homebodies. 'We've been together for quite a while, and we go out sometimes, but we both work so much that it's nice to be at home and be cozy and private,' Johnson told Elle UK in 2021. 'Most of the partying takes place inside my house.' She also spoke warmly about Martin's two children, 21-year-old daughter Apple and 19-year-old son Moses, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. In March, sources confirmed to People that the couple had been secretly engaged for years. Yet despite their long-running commitment, the relationship has now ended, just as Coldplay's Music of the Spheres tour continues to fill stadiums worldwide and Johnson prepares for the release of her upcoming film, 'Materialists,' on June 13.

Astley, who has been vocal about the song's viral popularity, commented on the meme craze in 2016 and told PEOPLE about the first time he was Rick-Rolled. "A friend of mine Rick-Rolled me a couple of times, and I didn't really know what he was doing. I just thought he was being an idiot," the singer said at the time. "I just kept thinking, 'What is this idiot doing? This is just not amusing. I don't really know what's going on.' So we eventually got on the phone and he explained it to me." Added Astley: "To be honest, I still didn't really get it. It took a few weeks for me to grasp." However, he only sees the meme as a "positive thing." It has nothing to do with you,'' he told PEOPLE in January 2025. "And I'm like, 'How can it have nothing to do with me?' And she said, 'Just leave it where it is. Don't try to embrace it and try funny things with it,'" continued Astley. Less than 1,000 songs have reached the Billion Streams club on Spotify. Astley's hit joins "Love Story" by Taylor Swift, "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers, "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel and "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire, among other tracks.
