Alexander Skarsgård has taken method dressing to a whole new level, a trend previously embraced by
Zendaya and Margot Robbie during their promotional tours for Challengers and Barbie, respectively. The actor's bold fashion choices at the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival are certainly making waves.

In director Harry Lighton's directorial debut Pillion, Skarsgård takes on the role of Ray, the leather-clad leader of a queer biker gang who begins a dom/sub sexual relationship with the meek Colin, played by Harry Melling. One of the more provocative offerings at this year's festival, the A24 film, adapted from Adam Mars-Jones' novel Box Hill, received an eight-minute standing ovation at the Cannes premiere on May 18.

Working with celebrity stylist Harry Lambert, who counts the likes of pop star Harry Styles and
The Crown actors Emma Corrin and Josh O'Connor among his clientele, the Swedish heartthrob has spent the festival wearing a series of audacious ensembles that reference his character in the BDSM-focused film.

Skarsgård's first noteworthy outfit was for the Pillion photocall on May 18. The 48-year-old's white T-shirt, leather trousers from Loewe and biker boots might have passed for an edgy but otherwise unassuming outfit – if it wasn't for the suggestive graphic on his T-shirt, featuring a black boot stepping down on a man's mouth. French Open: Chinese No 1 Zheng Qinwen tears as she blames herself for quarter-final loss

An emotional Zheng Qinwen said she had lost her French Open quarter-final against Aryna Sabalenka, rather than the world No 1 doing anything special to win it in straight sets. Advertisement Zheng, playing in her first tournament at Roland Garros since becoming Olympic champion last summer, went down 7-6, 6-3 in an error-strewn performance on Court Philippe Chatrier. In her final post-match press conference of the event, a teary-eyed Zheng, who committed a total of 31 unforced errors, rued opening the door for the three-time grand slam winner to get back into the match when 4-2 up in the first set. 'Maybe during the match I should play a bit more aggressively, and I think in the first set I made a lot of easy mistakes,' Zheng said. 'I gave her easy chances, I think mostly I made the match lose … it's in my hands, because I did some double faults in the first set when I'm leading with my service game.' 200-year-old condom decorated with erotic art goes on display in Amsterdam museum

The Netherlands' national museum has a new object on display that merges art with Amsterdam's infamous red-light district: a nearly 200-year-old condom, emblazoned with erotic art. Advertisement The Rijksmuseum said the playful prophylactic, believed to have been made around 1830 from a sheep's appendix, 'depicts both the playful and the serious side of sexual health'. It is part of an exhibition called 'Safe Sex?' about 19th-century sex work that opened on June 3. The condom, possibly a souvenir from a brothel, is decorated with an erotic image of a nun and three clergymen. According to the museum, this is a reference to the Pierre-Auguste Renoir painting The Judgment of Paris, which depicts the Trojan prince Paris judging a beauty contest between three goddesses.
