Furious Lana Del Rey fans have same complaint after singer brings tour to UK

Daily Mirror25-06-2025
Lana Del Rey is in the UK playing shows for her highly-anticipated tour. However, as the tour kicked off last night in Cardiff, many fans shared their disappointment
Fans were bursting with excitement as singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey - who rarely performs in the UK - kicked off her UK and Ireland tour last night. The Born to Die singer, who headlined at Coachella last year, is performing in Glasgow tomorrow, Liverpool on Saturday, at Wembley Stadium in London on July 3 and 4, with tickets still available.
She will also be performing in Dublin on June 30. Band London Grammar and singer Banks are supporting her on much of the tour. Plus, TikTok star turned recording artist, Addison Rae, will join her for the London shows.
However, many were left confused by her performance at Cardiff's Principality Stadium last night (Tuesday, June 24). Following the highly-anticipated performance, they rushed to social media to share their thoughts.
Many complained about the songs and length of her set list, while others noted her lateness, and some were unimpressed by the staging and "hologram performance".
'Very disappointing'
One individual shared clips from the concert and asked: "Anyone else left the Lana Del Rey concert in Cardiff high key underwhelmed? The ticket cost way too much for how short her setlist was."
Sharing their experience, one commented on the post and said: "Very disappointed indeed. £290 for two tickets to have her on for an hour ish... and 15 mins of that it was a hologram type video of her! Shocking."
One other wrote: "100%. My fist time seeing her and it was meant to be the pinnacle of concerts for me and my partner. I felt underwhelmed and a bit dissatisfied. She is a ledge though so still think she's amazing."
Another shared: "I saw her in a O2 academy in 2013 and it was one of the best concerts I've been to. Last night was so disappointing and 100% agree with you."
Another viral video showed her performing and the concert goer said: "Lana Del Rey kicked her UK&Ireland Stadium Tour. Unfortunately she was not ready for a stadium tour and it became a disappointing concert.."
'No attention to detail'
In another video, one individual said: "Lana came on at 8.53pm till 10.16pm. Snogged her husband. Sang Salvatore but read the lyrics from an iPhone!".
Commenting on this post, one individual sarcastically wrote: "Our favourite part was when she performed three songs as a hologram in the window…"
One other shared: "We paid nearly £500 for 2 tickets on the side 12 rows from front. Unfortunately the staging is not built for visibility, it's a box where you can only really see directly from the front and half the show she is way back in this box."
They also noted: "The staging although atmospheric was just not visible. When you pay that much you expect to see. Also 3 songs not live just like watching a TV. The easing platform was a highlight but again saw all the mechanisms, no attention to detail."
'It was absolutely beautiful'
However, there were many who enjoyed the show. One gushed: "I went, thought it was wonderful."
Another supporter who had a great time added: "I don't know what you all saw but it was amazing. She was supposed to finish at 10 but kept the show going later because she was late on stage.
"Her vocals were amazing and you all saying she wasn't good or it was disappointing are just sad she didn't sing Summertime Sadness 10 times."
One other insisted the show was a "cinematic masterpiece". They added: "It is so rare for concerts to have a story for the show. The stage set was absolutely beautiful. She did perform most of her hits as well as some fan favourites."
Another fan said: "I thought the stage was absolutely stunning I loved the house, lighting and use of green screen. I feel like not everyone understands what to expect at a Lana show. I found it super emotional and beautiful."
And another agreed: "I also went last night and it was a dream come true for me, I don't know why everyone's being a negative Nancy."

Kneecap bring surprise guest on stage at Green Man

Kneecap bring surprise guest on stage at Green Man Irish rap trio Kneecap addressed the BBC's decision not to live stream their Glastonbury Festival set as they welcomed Welsh cafe owner Helen Wilson on stage at Green Man The trio performed at this year's Green Man festival in Bannau Brycheiniog (Image: Parri Thomas - @photo_parri) Irish rap trio Kneecap launched a scathing attack on the BBC during their Green Man Festival performance on Thursday evening, with the group chanting "f*** the BBC". The band slammed the broadcaster after it refused to air their Glastonbury Festival set live. ‌ Throughout their politically-charged show at the festival, the Belfast-based group also spoke about their continued backing for Palestine and band member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh's forthcoming court date. Thousands of festival-goers packed their Far Out stage performance, with crowds overflowing beyond the venue. ‌ The trio also brought Helen Wilson onto the stage - the Welsh café proprietor who livestreamed their Glastonbury appearance on TikTok to millions of viewers. ‌ The band hailed Helen as their "hero". "Diolch," they said to the Green Man audience. "It's not a bad crowd for our first time playing in a festival in Wales.", they went on: "We recently played Glastonbury and the BBC wouldn't live stream our set. F*** the BBC." They continued: "So the BBC, they said that they wouldn't show Kneecap live... but there was one woman. Do you know who we are talking about?". Article continues below "There was one hero who decided to TikTok live our gig, and she's from Wales. Can we have a massive round of applause for Helen?". The café owner appeared alongside the trio on stage and was spotted embracing band member Móglaí Bap as the audience erupted in cheers. In June, demands emerged to cancel their Glastonbury appearance, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer declaring the planned performance at Worthy Farm was not "appropriate", following charges against band member Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, known as Mo Chara, for a terror offence related to displaying a Hezbollah-supporting flag during a 2024 gig. Mo Chara has rejected the allegations, branding the terror offence charge a "political" manoeuvre intended to "silence" the group. ‌ Festival organisers at Glastonbury declined to axe the trio's slot on the West Holts stage. The BBC opted against live streaming their set, though they subsequently made a largely uncut version available on BBC iPlayer. "We don't always live stream every act from the main stages and look to make an on-demand version of Kneecap's performance available on our digital platforms, alongside more than 90 other sets." During their appearance on the Far Out stage at Green Man Festival, the band also referenced Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh's forthcoming court date, mentioning he would return to court "next Wednesday", apparently confirming the hearing would occur on Wednesday, August 20. On stage, the rapper declared his intention to challenge the British government in court once again, stating: "to beat the British government in their own court for the second time". ‌ He further explained: "they stole our funding two years ago, and we went to court and we won," referring to the band's previous legal victory against current Conservative party leader Kemi Badenoch, who had blocked an arts grant to the band in 2023. Liam added: "And this time, we are going back to their court and we're going to beat them again." The band revealed that it was their debut performance at a Welsh festival, referring to the audience as their "Celtic brothers". ‌ They expressed: "Celtic brothers have to stand together as we can't trust the British government". The band later emphasised the importance of "international solidarity" in the current times. "We are from west Belfast and Derry. Places that know colonialism all too well, as you know yourselves," they shared with the crowd. The band pledged to continue speaking out about Palestine, describing the situation as a genocide and leading the crowd in a "Free, Free Palestine" chant. Article continues below Green Man Festival is set to wrap up on Sunday, August 17. This year's Bannau Brycheiniog event will feature performances from the likes of Underworld, Wet Leg, CMAT, Perfume Genius, John Grant, Wunderhorse, Gwenno and English Teacher.

Boots brings nostalgic budget-friendly brand known for their mascaras back

The high street beauty chain is adding hundreds of new products to their shelves in 2025, with three viral brands now available to shop in store and online While filling a cosmetics bag can prove pretty costly, particularly with everyone scrambling to try the latest viral sensations and new launches, there certainly seems to be a growing appetite for affordable makeup once again. And Boots is cementing its status as the go-to retailer for exactly that, with the launch of not one, but three budget-friendly brands both in store and online. With the rise of social media, there was a surge in shoppers opting for more luxury products and celebrity favourites. However, with the cost of living crisis and customers getting more savvy, shopping habits have shifted, with more beauty fans looking for high-performing products that don't drain the bank. This summer, the retailer has announced the launch of three of TikTok's most talked about brands - one of which will no doubt bring nostalgic joy for many after. It comes as the high street favourite is set to see more than 400 new cosmetics lines landing in the coming months. Harrods beauty advent calendar returns after fragrance one sold out in 48 hours 'I'm trying to cut down my alcohol intake and this 99p low-calorie drink converted me' Boots isn't the only retailer leaning into the budget-friendly beauty trend, either, as this week saw the launch of Trouble Maker into Superdrug. The bold new brand promises innovation at pocket-money friendly prices, with prices starting from £2. Meanwhile, Sephora's own brand Sephora Collection offers a range of cosmetics, skincare and more from £1.99, with more than 450 product lines to choose from. The three brands that have hit shelves at Boots this week are Catrice, an affordable German brand, alongside SheGlam making its UK debut, and the much-missed Essence will be returning to the high street, delighting customers who have been begging to see it make a comeback. After the closure of Wilko stores across the UK, Essence was like gold dust, but Boots is making it easier than ever to get your hands on. Known for Lash Princess mascaras and Juicy Bomb Shiny Glosses, the brand delivers ultra-affordable prices starting from £1.29. One product expected to be a hit is their Jelly Grip Hydrating Primer, which costs £3.99. If we had to liken it to a more expensive product, we'd say its tacky formula works in a similar way to Milk's Hydro Grip Primer, which retails at £35. Catrice is another name dominating TikTok right now, racking up over 26 million views in the past week alone. The clean, cruelty-free and vegan brand has been praised for products like the Aqua Splash Grip Primer and Under Eye Brightener, which have earned loyal followings for their quality and accessible price point. The Catrice range's most expensive product is £6.99 for their Soft Glam Filter Fluid, which has been likened to Charlotte Tilbury's £39 Flawless Filter. And available on the high street for the first time ever is SheGlam - a trend-led brand loved for its Pout-Perfect Lip Plumper and Colour Bloom Liquid Blush. Their products range from £2.99 to £8.50, proving shoppers no longer need to spend a small fortune on restocking their kit. Speaking on the latest launches, Alice Rafferty, Director of Luxury Beauty and Cosmetics at Boots said: 'Boots is proud to be bringing a growing lineup of socially native, trending beauty brands to the high street. Beauty lovers want to test, trial, and play before they buy, and now they can experience some of the most buzzworthy, viral brands in person at Boots stores nationwide. By staying closely tuned into emerging trends and listening to what our customers want to see on our shelves, we're continuing to elevate our beauty offering, making the latest social media sensations more accessible than ever.' The beauty boom doesn't stop there, though, with Boots also expanding the ranges of other social media-famous brands like Tirtir, the K-beauty label behind the viral Red Cushion Foundation, and Sacheu, known for innovative multi-use products. Sacheu is expanding its range to include more product lines for eye, cheek and lip, such as its Cheek STAY-N and Brow & Freckle STAY-N, which will launch in over 90 Boots stores. Meanwhile K-Beauty brand Tirtir, famed for its game-changing Red Cushion Foundation, will be available on the UK high street for the first time, launching in 30 Boots stores nationwide. Shoppers can test and trial its range of 23 foundation shades, alongside other new, viral-worthy products like the Glide and Hide Blurring Concealer and Waterism Glow Tint. Both brands launched at Boots earlier this year under its new accelerator programme, which identifies and rapidly brings the biggest viral and emerging new brands to the high street. As a result, if you've seen it buzzing on TikTok, there's a good chance it could be coming to the high street not too long after.
