Musicians Syndicate Bans Ragheb Alama from Singing in Egypt
Mostafa Kamel, head of Egypt's Musicians' Syndicate, issued an official statement announcing the suspension of Lebanese mega star Ragheb Alama from performing in Egypt and summoning him for investigation over actions that took place during one of his recent concerts.
Kamel said in an official statement that 'Over the past two days, I have observed disgraceful behavior that violates all Egyptian customs, traditions, and societal values—behavior we are not used to in our homeland and will not allow to be repeated on the land of Umm Kulthum, Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim, and the greats of Arab art. Egypt's stages have been graced by the most esteemed artists of Egypt and the Arab world—artists of true talent and worth—and they have never been, nor will they ever be, a place for inappropriate kisses, suggestive gestures, and repulsive embraces.'
In the same context, Khodr Alama, brother and manager of the Lebanese singer, responded to the statement issued by the Egyptian Musicians' Syndicate regarding the decision to ban Alama from performing in Egypt and to summon him for investigation over actions during a recent concert in the North Coast.
In an exclusive statement to Youm7 TV, Khodr Alama said that they have not yet received any official notification regarding what has been circulated about the suspension of Ragheb Alama from performing in Egypt.

Amr Diab & TLT Concepts Launch Resort on Egypt's North Coast
A beach club, Mediterranean restaurant, party arena, and soon: a boutique hotel and villas inside Emaar Misr's Marassi. For decades, musical icon Amr Diab has been the soundtrack of Egyptian summer—his voice drifting across Sahel beaches, rooftop speakers, and car stereos heading west. But this season, he's not just shaping the sound—he's shaping the scene itself. In creative collaboration with TLT Concepts—the minds behind experiential destinations like The Lemon Tree & Co. and Villa Coconut—the legendary artist has launched Maa'soom: a new coastal hub where music, fire, water, and Diab's unmistakable energy converge in rhythm. Set along the glittering promenade of Marassi—Emaar Misr's exclusive North Coast compound—Maa'soom is a paradox by design. Its name, Arabic for 'divided' and a subtle nod to musical phrasing, evokes a space where shadow meets light, and stillness stirs to sound. That duality is sculpted into every surface. Led by Dimitri Tsigos of Omniview Design with TLT Studio, the design flows between raw textures and polished finishes, wide-open lounges and intimate corners, sun-drenched afternoons and sultry nights. But Maa'soom is more than a look—it's a full-bodied rhythm. At its core lies a multi-level beach club where cabanas face the sea and the poolside beat never quite breaks. Above it, an elevated restaurant sets the table for long lunches and golden-hour gatherings. Curated by Chef Mirette Aly, the Mediterranean-inspired menu plays with fire and finesse—smoked over live flames by pitmaster Hattem Mattar, then refined by Grecian elegance under Chef Michalis Nourloglou. The result? A menu that moves away from conventional mezza and toward generous, shareable dishes made for connection and conversation. And when night descends, the tempo rises. At The Arena—Maa'soom's open-air party playground—light, sound, and movement collide in true Diab fashion. This, of course, is only the overture. A boutique hotel and private waterfront villas will follow in 2026, completing the resort's transformation into a fully immersive coastal world. Until then, Maa'soom stands as a new kind of North Coast landmark—designed for contrast, built for rhythm, and led by a man who's always known how to own the summer.

MBRF's Dubai International Program for Writing concludes ‘Children's Literature Workshop' in Tunisia - Middle East Business News and Information
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) successfully completed the 'Children's Literature Workshop,' launched by the Dubai International Program for Writing DIPW, one of the Foundation's leading knowledge initiatives. Held over four months in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia, the workshop was led by Dr. Wafa Thabet Mezghani. The workshop witnessed outstanding participation from individuals with a strong interest in children's literature and its various formats. Throughout the program, they engaged in interactive, hands-on training sessions focused on brainstorming, feedback, and assessments. Working closely with a team of professionals, they refined their ideas from initial concepts to complete children's stories ready for publication and distribution. His Excellency Jamal Bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said, 'The initiatives of DIPW reflect the Foundation's core mission of supporting intellectual and creative growth across the Arab world. The 'Children's Literature Workshop' demonstrates our strong belief in the value of investing in emerging talent and equipping them with the skills necessary to excel in specialized writing. We remain committed to developing innovative programs that empower youth and make a meaningful contribution to both the local and global literary and knowledge landscape.' The workshop consisted of four in-person training sessions, each lasting over three days and combining practical and theoretical exercises. Aimed at writers across all skill levels, from aspiring authors to experienced professionals, the sessions covered a wide range of key topics. These included the history of children's literature, with a special emphasis on Arabic literature, as well as literary genres, age-specific content, and the importance of pre-writing planning. Participants also explored character development, setting, plot structure, narrative styles, and perspectives. They received valuable guidance on titling, editing, book cover design, building an author brand, and marketing. This workshop is the second edition held in Tunisia and the third across the broader North Africa. It also featured remote monitoring, which included reviewing participants' manuscripts and providing guidance on the self-editing process. This hybrid approach allowed trainers to deliver high-quality mentorship, helping participants produce polished content that meets the standards of both Arab and international libraries.

Namira's musical journey started during his teenage years when he began playing guitar, keyboard, and oud. His unique style, which meanders across genres such as light rock, jazz, Latin music, and above all, Arab music, has made him more accessible to Western audiences and the subject of a dedicated fan base. Composer Kharma began performing live music concerts in 2016. Accompanied by a grand orchestra, Kharma performed in major events in notable locations, such as at the feet of the pyramids, the Cairo Citadel, and the London Mansion House. He also created the theme music for numerous important national events and across many Egyptian institutions. Assala - music Thursday 7 August, 9pm U Arena, New Alamein Born in 1969 in Damascus, Assala is one of the Arab region's biggest stars. Her large fan base spans across generations. Al-Jassmi's music spans various genres, including Khaleeji, Egyptian, and classical Arabic. Saad is a well-known Egyptian singer famous for his emotional ballads. He launched his music career in the early 2000s and soon became a staple in Egyptian film and television soundtracks with songs blending traditional Arabic vocal stylings with modern pop and electronic elements. Sharmoofers, Massar Egbari, Hamid El-Shaeri - music Friday, 8 August, 9pm Porto Golf, Alamein, North Coast This triple bill brings together known Egyptian bands and a Libyan-Egyptian singer. Sharmoofers is an Egyptian band known for their unique blend of music genres, including reggae and rock. The band was formed in 2012 and quickly gained popularity in the Egyptian music scene. Founded in 2005, Massar Egbari has gained a large popularity in Egypt and beyond. Their lineup features Hani El-Dakkak on guitar and lead vocals, Ahmed Hafez on bass guitar, Tamer Attallah on drums, Ayman Massoud on keyboards, and Mahmoud Siam on guitar. They regularly sell out concerts in Egypt and have also performed in the region and internationally. El-Shaeri was born in Libya to an Egyptian mother and Libyan father. Then, he moved to Egypt in the early 1980s, where he began his musical career and released his debut album Ayonha in 1983. This was followed by the critically acclaimed Raheel (1984), marking the beginning of his skyrocketing successes as he cemented his status as a key figure in the Arab music scene. His breakthrough as a singer came with the release of his debut single Zekrayat Kedaba (Lying Memories) in 2006. The song's success led Ashour to work on his first album, Saab (Difficult), released in 2007. Abu Shaar Brothers Saturday, 9 August, 8:30pm El-Sawy Culturewheel, Wisdom Hall, 26th of July Street, Zamalek, Cairo Formed in 1983, the Abu Shaar Brothers (El Ekhwa Abu Shaar) from Syria began as a quartet presenting music and chants that praise the Prophet Mohammed. At the time of formation, the youngest member of the band was just 11 years old. As the band's popularity grew, new generations subsequently joined the ensemble. Soon, Abu Shaar Brothers became an internationally renowned Syrian Islamic nasheed group, whose music and lyrics focus on a religious repertoire. They have more than 600,000 followers on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. The band currently reside in Egypt, where they hold many concerts. Nabeel Shuail - music Saturday, 9 August Beach Resort, Marassi Nabeel Shuail is a celebrated Kuwaiti singer renowned for his powerful voice and significant contributions to the Khaleeji music scene. He began his musical career in the early 1980s, gaining widespread recognition with his debut album Sikat Safar in 1982. Over the years, Shuail, affectionately known as the "Gulf Nightingale," has released over 26 albums. His upcoming concert in Egypt is part of the Layali Marassi, a summer series providing performances of the best-known singers at the Beach Resort, Marassi.
