Phil Robertson, Duck Dynasty Actor, Dies At 79 After Alzheimer's Diagnosis
Last Updated:
Phil Robertson, star of Duck Dynasty, passed away at 79 after an Alzheimer's diagnosis. His family shared heartfelt tributes on social media.
Phil Robertson, the heart and soul behind the hit reality show Duck Dynasty, has passed away at the age of 79. The news comes just months after the family revealed that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
His son Jase Robertson shared the heartfelt news on X (formerly Twitter), writing, 'My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!"
Granddaughter Sadie Robertson Huff also honoured her grandfather with a moving Instagram tribute, sharing cherished family memories captured in photos over the years.
In a joint post, Phil's son Willie Robertson and his wife Korie wrote, 'We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord." They continued, 'Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life. We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life. We're having a private service for now, but we'll share details soon about a public celebration of his life."
Phil's battle with Alzheimer's was first shared during the December 6 episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast. Jase opened up about the difficult news, mentioning that his father had been diagnosed in the early phases of the disease.
Since then, things have taken a turn for the worse. Jase explained that the condition has rapidly progressed and is now affecting Phil's overall health. 'He's having a tough time," Jase said. 'It's not just memory anymore — it's impacting his whole body."
Several months later, on the April 2 episode of the Unashamed podcast, Jase revisited his father Phil's ongoing health challenges: 'He's not good," he told listeners.
Jase shared that the family is focused on keeping Phil as comfortable as possible. 'We're doing everything we can," he said. 'At this point, that's all you really can do."
Duck Dynasty originally aired on A&E and offered an inside look at the lives of the Robertson family – Phil and Kay Robertson, their sons Jase, Willie, and Jep, as well as their grandchildren and a handful of quirky employees. The show captured their day-to-day adventures at Duck Commander, the family's duck call business.
After an 11-season run, the series wrapped up in 2017 but left behind a legacy of memorable moments and several spinoffs like Going Si-Ral, Jep & Jessica: Growing the Dynasty, At Home with the Robertsons, and Duck Family Treasure. In January, A&E revealed that the Robertsons would be back with Duck Dynasty: The Revival, bringing new stories to longtime fans.

Virat Kohli's Sister SLAMS Troll For Questioning Bond With Anushka Sharma, Cricketer
Last Updated: When a troll tried to insinuate that Virat and Anushka sideline Bhawna, she called them out politely. As Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) lifted the IPL 2025 trophy, his sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra, took to Instagram to celebrate the win. She penned a heartfelt note for Virat Kohli and shared the cricketer's pictures from the match, including ones where he posed with Anushka Sharma. However, when a troll tried to insinuate that Virat and Anushka sideline Bhawna, she called them out politely. Bhawna shared a heartwarming note about Virat's win and wrote, 'This night, this moment where we celebrate this dream which made us cry, which made us laugh; but the wait that you did is far too long. Each and every second of the moment needs to be experienced with stillness and a strange calmness that it's actually done 🙏🏻🧿." She added, 'All of us can't express the humility and thankfulness towards almighty and millions of fans who were right behind RCB through thick and thin. This win is everybody's personal win. Your tears were felt in the eyes of everyone who loves you. We cried with you because you, my little Veeru, are god's chosen one who brings so much joy and inspiration in everyone. Blessed to witness this, and someone in heaven is smiling in his usual smile, looking at his son making him proud." As Virat's sister's post went viral, someone asked in the comments, 'Why does he never mention you in any speech or like your post? Not even Anushkha does, lol." Bhawna politely shut the troll and wrote, 'May god give you the patience to understand love can exist in many ways, which is not necessarily shown to the world, but it's still there, like the love for almighty. Hope you have enough love in your life, no insecurities, only true bonds which don't need any validation. God bless you." Her reaction has gone viral across social media sites, and Virat's fans are praising her. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are currently in Bengaluru for RCB's victory parade. Anushka Sharma shared joyous moments from the parade, riding along with Virat Kohli and the RCB squad as they were welcomed by massive crowds across the city. However, the celebration turned sombre with the tragic news of the fans' passing away. At least 11 people were killed and over 30 injured in a stampede-like situation outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday evening. Massive crowds had gathered to welcome the RCB players, who were to be felicitated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after their historic win in the IPL 2025 final against Punjab Kings.
