Tom Hardy's MobLand drops new series bombshell about Bella and Conrad
With four episodes released, MobLand has already delivered
more plot twists than many series manage
in a full season. The unpredictability of the characters is one of the key elements that makes the show so gripping.
In the fourth episode, titled "Plan B," MobLand unveiled
a shocking piece of backstory
involving Kevin (played by Patty Constantine), his wife Bella (portrayed by Lara Pulver), and his father, the mafia family patriarch Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan). Kevin confides in his best friend about Bella's past as one of Conrad's "girls" whom he had slept with, climbing the ranks from number seven to his top girl.
However, when Conrad was done with Bella, after Maeve (Helen Mirren) discovered their affair, he
handed her off to Kevin
in what seemed like a "medieval" transaction.

Tom Hardy shares the reason why he didn't play Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice
The notion of treating a woman as an object to be passed from father to son is disturbing enough, but the fact that she ends up married to the son speaks volumes about Bella's animosity towards the Harrigans and her determination to make her own business deals at any cost.
Lara Pulver shares her opinions on her character
(Image: Paramount Plus)
Lara Pulver, known for her role as Irene Adler in Sherlock, spoke to Men's Journal about the complexity of her character. "She's looking down the barrel of an uncertain future," Pulver said.
She shared: "And when it comes to Tom's character, I don't think she necessarily wants to sleep with him. I don't think she's in love with him, but I think she's just seeing where that boundary is going to go."
In the third episode, Bella makes her intentions clear - she wants Harry to be more than just a helper, even if it means being unfaithful to her husband.
However, the fourth episode reveals a twist: Bella entered the family by dating her husband's father, adding a new layer of complexity to the situation.
"I think she's not wholly comfortable with her past. She's trying to have moments of just owning the present," Pulver commented, shedding light on this latest development involving Bella and Conrad Harrigan.
Pulver also suggested that Bella's reckless actions - deceiving her husband, attempting to seduce Harry, and blackmailing politicians - are likely to escalate. It's all part of her desperate attempt to escape the predicament she finds herself in.
"As the series progresses, she wants to earn her status and establish her identity in the present," Pulver said. She further added: "And so, she starts making choices. Not necessarily great choices, either."

Pierce Brosnan defends 'offensive' Irish accent after being mocked by MobLand viewers
Pierce Brosnan delves into his role on MobLand, seemingly defending it amid being heavily mocked for it on social media. In a recent interview, Pierce shared how the 'Irish aspect' of his gangster MobLand character. 'The Irish aspect of him happened on the day. I was going for a North London or South London accent,' he told the Los Angeles Times. 'But on the very first day of shooting with Tom and myself, Guy said, 'Go Irish.' I called up my dialect coach, Brendan Gunn, who I've worked with many, many times. I said, 'Brendan, I've got 15 minutes. Give me a Kerry accent'.' Pierce continued: 'Brendan gave me a man who I based the voice on — he's from Kerry and he's a politician — and I jumped in with both feet. I wanted something that had a bite to it. I wanted something where you could take someone's head off with the words.' Pierce is being mocked online for his accent in MobLand (Image: AP) Pierce stars as Conrad Harrigan, the head of a very successful Irish crime family based out of London in the series. Other stars who are a part of the cast are Dame Helen Mirren, who plays his Irish wife Maeve, and Tom Hardy, who plays Conrad's 'fixer' Harry DeSouza. Despite Pierce putting his best foot forward for his role, critics have slammed the Paramount+ series, specifically because of Pierce's character's 'offensive' Irish accent. Even though he was born in Drogheda, Co Louth , and raised in Navan, Co Meath before moving abroad in his teens, many are taking issue with his diction in MobLand. On social media, one viewer penned: "Pierce Brosnan seems to have forgotten his hiberno English." Another commented: "Watching Mobland and Pierce Brosnan's accent is doing laps of the entire country." A third added: "Man's gone from Cork to Dublin and back to Kerry mid-sentence." Meanwhile, another shared, "considering he's Irish, Pierce Brosnan's attempt at an Irish accent can only be described as ------- offensive." Although Pierce is getting a lot of online hate, his co-star and Co Westmeath native Lisa Dwan has come to his defense. 'Well, I'm Irish and I knew immediately he was doing a Kerry accent, which is west of Ireland," she told Parade.

Yellowstone 1923 fans say this alternative ending is 'the ending we deserved'
Yellowstone enthusiasts are still grappling with the aftermath of the 1923 prequel season finale, which premiered on Paramount Plus on April 6. The series concluded with a bittersweet reunion between Alex (portrayed by Julia Schlaepfer) and Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar), but their happiness was short-lived. Following the birth of her premature son, Alex tragically died in hospital after enduring harsh freezing conditions. Fans were left devastated as they had anticipated seeing Alex and Spencer together on the Montana ranch. The 'disappointing' conclusion has sparked fans to concoct their own alternate narratives, many of which have been circulating on Reddit. One such theory, proposed by Zestyclose-Rhubarb55, has been lauded as a stroke of brilliance. This fan envisioned a scenario where, post-train jump, Spencer encounters Teonna Rainwater's (Aminah Nieves) partner Pete Plenty Clouds (Jeremy Gauna), leading to an introduction to Teonna and her father. They also speculated about Alex working on the train to Billings, crossing paths with prostitute Lindy (Madison Elise Rogers), who is on a recruitment drive for more girls. This would lead to a meeting with Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton), who agrees to assist Alex in locating Spencer, albeit with hidden intentions, reports the Mirror US . Alex and Spencer Dutton in the 1923 finale (Image: PARAMOUNT) Numerous fans have expressed interest in this alternative storyline, particularly the potential encounter between Alex and Whitfield, culminating in Spencer coming to her rescue. Zestyclose-Rhubarb55 suggested that the finale should have wrapped up with Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) and Spencer stumbling upon Mabel (Magdalene Keh-Vick), who reveals Whitfield's capture of Alex. In another storyline, Teonna and Pete set off for California to raise a family and work on a ranch. Meanwhile, Cara and Mabel confront Whitfield, persuading some investors to turn against his scheme. Spencer rescues Alex after a tense confrontation involving Whitfield, himself, and his beloved. Although Alex is wounded in the encounter, she pulls through and forms a bond with an injured Jacob (Harrison Ford) in the hospital, while Spencer and Cara eliminate Whitfield and deliver him to the notorious Train Station. The fan elaborated: "Flashforward three years. Alex and Elizabeth are laughing and giving each other tips over their clothing. Cara laughs at their foolishness and tells them their husbands would rather have a hearty meal when they get home then a gussied up wife. "Jacob disagrees as he struggles to keep up with their two toddlers. Spencer and Jack come riding up with ranch hands and dozens of cattle their have rounded up. The men dismount and run up to their beautiful wives who are happy and waiting for them." They added Elsa's narration about future challenges: "Elsa narration that they would see many hardships and struggles over the coming years but how all the hardships were worth what they had in that current moment." Cara and Jacob Dutton in 1923 Fans took to the comments section in droves to applaud the proposed finale, with one enthusiastic follower, Camperfan246, writing: "I'm going to pretend this is how it ended." EllieJamesYA was quick to add: "Would have been so much better!" And bud440 didn't hold back, stating: "Yep, much better than TS. I'm mad too!". I-have-thoughts also joined in, reflecting: "This is the ending we deserved. I can't believe people actually liked the ending of it." While Rockinarmy put things succinctly with the word: "This is remarkable." 1923 is available on Paramount Plus

BBC does not have a toxic culture but must do better, review finds
The BBC does not have a toxic culture but bosses need to do more to prevent future abuses of power, a review launched after the conviction of Huw Edwards will say. The corporation has said it will implement its 'single biggest set of cultural changes' after an independent report found shortcomings in how it tackles inappropriate behaviour. The investigation was commissioned by the BBC's board in October after a series of damaging scandals, most notably when Edwards pleaded guilty to receiving child abuse images. At the time, the BBC was also mired in controversy over the Sherlock star Amanda Abbington's allegations of bullying on Strictly Come Dancing. The review, due to be published on Monday, has identified a number of ways in which
