One of Notre Dame's top remaining 2026 targets, S Nick Reddish, has set a commitment date

USA Today30-06-2025
There are more than a few top 2026 prospects that Notre Dame football is still after, and one of them, safety Nick Reddish, has announced that he will make his commitment on July 11th.
The 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound North Carolina native will made his decision between four schools: Virginia Tech, Indiana, Wisconsin, and the Irish. Reddish has taken official visits to see each of his finalist, with Notre Dame getting the most recent visit on the weekend of June 12th.
Reddish is ranked as the No. 678 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, and it is very much looking like Notre Dame will be adding him to its class. There are currently three crystal ball picks, each one of them believing that the Irish will land the talented safety.
Notre Dame already has two elite safety commitments in Joey O'Brien and Ayden Pouncey, and will look to round out the group with Reddish in a few weeks.

Alabama flips 2026 offensive line commit from ACC program

Only days after landing their second quarterback of the cycle, the Alabama Crimson Tide have now added another commitment to their 2026 recruiting class, this time via a flip. That is because, on Friday afternoon, offensive line prospect Bear Fretwell officially announced that he was flipping his commitment to the Crimson Tide from Georgia Tech. Fretwell, an in-state prospect for the Yellow Jackets, had previously been committed to Georgia Tech since June. According to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Fretwell is currently considered as the nation's No. 702 overall prospect in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 61 offensive tackle nationally. A three-star prospect, Fretwell also ranks as the No. 78 player in the state of Georgia where he attends Southeast Bulloch High School. Following the flip of Fretwell to Alabama, the Crimson Tide's class now sits at No. 4 nationally, per 247Sports, with 21 total commitments. Of those 21, five come from the state of Georgia. Alabama football 2025 season preview, predictions: Brody Dalton

During the spring transfer portal window, there simply was not much action from the Alabama Crimson Tide. Not only did Alabama not lose anyone to the portal, but the Crimson Tide also added only two transfers during the window as well, both of which were tight ends. One of those two was Brody Dalton, a transfer addition from within the state of Alabama where he played previously at Troy, and brings a significant amount of collegiate experience to the Crimson Tide's tight end room. Let's take a look at everything you need to know about Alabama's newest tight end, Brody Dalton, entering the 2025 season. Brody Dalton player information Brody Dalton career stats Dalton will be entering his fifth season of college football in 2025, having previously played collegiately at both UAB and Troy from 2021-24. Over those four seasons, Dalton has hauled in a combined 24 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns, a majority of which came the last two years while at Troy. Brody Dalton 2024 stats Dalton is coming off a breakout 2024 campaign in which he posted multiple career-high's statistically at Troy. With the Trojans, Dalton had a career-high 15 receptions for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Brody Dalton recruiting ranking Coming out of high school, Dalton was considered as the nation's No. 2,275 overall player in the 2021 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Committed to UAB, Dalton, a three-star prospect, was also rated the nation's No. 121 overall tight end, as well as the No. 100 player in the state of Alabama where he attended Fyffe High School. Prior to Alabama, Dalton was considered as the nation's No. 396 overall player in the transfer portal from this past offseason, according to 247Sports. Dalton, who committed to Alabama in April 2025, was also considered a three-star prospect, as well as the No. 19 overall tight end. Brody Dalton 2025 season outlook A position group that is loaded with options, it feels likely that Dalton plays a role for the Crimson Tide at some point in 2025. However, as to what that role is currently likely comes as an unknown, as both Josh Cuevas and Danny Lewis Jr. are at the moment expected to start, while others such as Kaleb Edwards are other options. Based on his experience though, it feels likely that Dalton will see time for the Crimson Tide this season, potentially coming in a notable role as both a pass catcher and blocker. Overall, expect Dalton to play a role in some form for the Crimson Tide this fall, providing depth and experience. 5-star 2026 Ohio State running back target Savion Hiter announces commitment date

As it stands right now, the Ohio State football team has put together a very good recruiting class for the 2026 cycle, but if we're being honest, it's a little behind where we've seen in past years, especially considering the Buckeyes are coming off a College Football Playoff national championship. And while many programs would love to have the class Ohio State has, there have been some pretty big misses as the program tries to figure out how name, image and likeness, and the House Settlement leading to direct revenue payments will work. The perception is that the Buckeyes have been conservative compared to other teams, and that has seemingly led to some misses on the high-priority targets. But there's another big one in play coming up with five-star running back Savion Hiter, who just announced his commitment date. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Hiter is ranked as the No. 1 running back and ninth overall prospect in the class. He will be making his college choice on August 19, according to an announcement on "X," and he'll be choosing among a final four of Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, and Tennessee. To be fair, OSU doesn't seem to have the momentum in this race -- though that hasn't seemed to matter this year. Despite being on campus multiple times, the buzz is that it'll come down to Michigan and Tennessee, both of whom have been much more aggressive with NIL money than Ohio State has been. To date, the Buckeyes have just one running back commitment in the class of 2026, three-star Ohio product Favour Akih. It's beginning to look like he'll be the lone back in this class unless there's a surprise with Hiter, or OSU pivots and tries to find a diamond in the rough to round out the class.
