I'm a 67-year-old runner — these are the 6 best men's running shoes in 2025

Best running shoes for seniors from ASICS, Nike, Saucony and more. After years of playing soccer, squash and distance running on hard surfaces, I needed both my knees scoped (surgery to repair torn cartilage). Initially, my doctor recommended I stop running altogether. But after extensive badgering, he eventually gave me the green light to give running another shot, providing I took careful steps — literally. Steps as in: ramping up slowly (not unlike when I first began running as a late starter at 39), not running too hard or for too long, and importantly: choosing the right shoes. All of which has made it possible for me to keep running today as a 67-year-old. And why not? As studies conclusively show, running helps keep seniors young. Whether you're in your 30s, your 50s, your 60s or beyond, these shoes will help you to put your best foot forward. Best shoes for new runners One of the key differences between walking and running is that with running, you're hitting the ground with twice as much force. Experts estimate the force of walking is 1.5 times your body weight, while running can be 2-3 times. Thus, choosing shoes that provide enough support is a key consideration. Other good reads: Best running shoes for men in 2025, according to a competitive distance runner Best hiking shoes, clothes and accessories for men in 2025, according to an avid hiker Best men's running shoes for racing and marathons in 2025, according to a competitive athlete Best for runners returning from injury After almost 30 years of running, I've experienced pretty much every kind of injury you can think of. So I know first-hand how important it is when you start back up to find a balance between choosing shoes that provide adequate support, but are light and responsive enough to be a "go-to shoe" when you are ready to pick up the pace. Best trail shoes for running and hiking Running or walking on trails, especially hilly ones, is a great way to ramp up your cardio without stressing your body as much as running faster does. They can often provide a softer surface to run on, too. That said, I've been on many trails where you have to navigate stones, rocks and tree roots, so having shoes with good grip and protection should be top of mind.

AstraZeneca (LSE:AZN) Launches FluMist Home For At-Home Influenza Vaccination

AstraZeneca recently launched "FluMist Home," an at-home flu vaccine delivery service, marking an important milestone for easier access to vaccinations in 34 U.S. states. Despite this positive development, the overall market also experienced an upward trend, with the Dow hitting record highs and the market up 1% over the last week. AstraZeneca's performance seems to have been buoyed by both its strategic product launches and the broader market gains. The launch of AstraZeneca's "FluMist Home" aligns well with the company's focus on innovative healthcare solutions, potentially impacting the narrative around its future growth. This new service might enhance revenue streams by tapping into the demand for convenient medical solutions. Over the last five years, AstraZeneca's total shareholder returns, including both share price and dividends, have risen by 54.08%. This growth provides a broader context to the company's performance, indicating resilience and strong returns for investors. Over the past year, AstraZeneca's share price movement has been in line with the performance of the UK Pharmaceuticals industry, which returned 10.3%. Looking at the potential impact on revenue and earnings forecasts, the initiative could bolster AstraZeneca's earnings as analysts anticipate a growth to $13.9 billion by 2028, up from $8.3 billion today. The recent stock price increase narrows the gap to the consensus analyst price target of £137.89, reflecting a potential 18.95% discount from the current share price of £115.92. This price movement suggests optimism among investors regarding the company's ability to meet future expectations. Gazan woman evacuated to Italy in a 'state of severe physical deterioration' dies in hospital

MADRID (AP) — A 20-year old Palestinian woman described as being in a 'state of severe physical deterioration' has died after being transferred to Italy for treatment, the hospital said Saturday. The patient was admitted to Pisa University Hospital late Wednesday and died on Friday. She was removed from the Gaza Strip as part of a humanitarian mission and arrived with a 'with a very complex, compromised clinical picture,' according to the hospital. She died after entering a respiratory crisis and subsequently going into cardiac arrest, it said in a statement. Hospital staff had performed tests and started supportive therapy before she died, the statement said. The woman, named by Italian media as Marah Abu Zuhri, had arrived in Italy with her mother. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said almost 120 Gazans — 31 patients and their families — had been flown to Rome, Milan and Pisa on three planes. In a post on X, Tajani said that it was the 14th medical evacuation of Palestinians that Italy had conducted since January 2024, and the largest. The hospital did not specify whether the woman had suffered from malnutrition, but said that she had arrived in a 'state of severe physical deterioration.' Eugenio Giani, leader of the Tuscan region, expressed his condolences Saturday for the woman's death. Earlier in the week, United Nations spokesman Stephane Dujarric said that starvation and malnutrition in Gaza were at their highest levels since the Israel-Hamas war began. The U.N. says nearly 12,000 children under 5 were found to have acute malnutrition in July — including more than 2,500 with severe malnutrition, the most dangerous level. The World Health Organization says the numbers are likely an undercount. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said last month no one in Gaza is starving. 'There is no policy of starvation in Gaza, and there is no starvation in Gaza,' he said. U.S. President Donald Trump responded to Netanyahu's claim by noting the images emerging of emaciated people. 'I don't know,' Trump said when asked if he agreed with the Israeli leader's comment. 'I mean, based on television, I would say not particularly because those children look very hungry.' Over the past two weeks, Israel has allowed around triple the amount of food into Gaza than what had been entering since late May. That was after 2.5 months when Israel barred all food, medicine and other supplies, saying it was to pressure Hamas to release hostages taken during its October 2023 attack that launched the war.
