On Tuesday, Shah was walking back home from her yoga classes when an electric BEST bus grazed the sedan parked illegally on the left side of the road, trapping her in between and dragging her beneath its wheels.
'We have already booked Akshay Avinash Surve, 46, the BEST driver who is a resident of Tardeo. The woman, who was walking past the illegally parked sedan near Ashford Apartments, came under the BEST bus which was passing on the narrow road, and dashed into the parked car,' said a police officer. He has been booked for rash driving and causing death by negligence under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
'The sedan was owned by Lina Bhimyani. When we questioned the family they pointed to Khadka, who normally takes care of the car. He lives in Sans Souci apartment on Ridge Road,' said the police officer, adding that Khadka had taken the car out for washing and later parked it on the road.
'Khadka has been given a notice under BNSS 35 (3),' said the police officer.

Youth held for posting obscene Social media videos
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly posting obscene pictures and videos of a 25-year-old woman of Nuapada district on social media platforms. The accused, identified as Minajul Aslam, a native of Assam, was arrested from Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu on August 12 and brought on transit remand to Nuapada on Friday, a police officer of Komana police station said. The arrest was made on the basis of a written complaint lodged by the victim with Komana police station on August 9. The police officer said the accused and the woman had been in a relationship when the victim was working in Tiruppur. During the period, the accused allegedly recorded explicit videos of her without her knowledge. Later, the man allegedly uploaded the videos on social media, the officer said. A team from Komana police station visited the area in Tamil Nadu and arrested him. After producing him at the local court there, the accused was brought to Komana on Friday, the police said. The accused has been arrested under relevant sections of BNS and IT Act, they said.

Delhi horror: Man rapes mother after accusing her of having 'bad character'; booked
NEW DELHI: A 39-year-old man has been booked for allegedly raping his mother in Delhi's Hauz Qazi area after she returned from a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, police said on Saturday. The woman, along with her 25-year-old daughter, approached the Hauz Qazi police station and accused her son, identified as Md Firoz alias Suhel, of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions this month, officials added. "The woman stated that she had travelled to Saudi Arabia on July 25 with her husband, aged 72, and their daughter for pilgrimage. During the trip, her son allegedly called on her husband's phone and accused her of having a 'bad character', demanding that his father return immediately to Delhi and divorce her," a senior police officer said. Fearing for her safety, she moved to her elder daughter's in-laws' house for some time, the complainant told police. "She further alleged that on August 11, when she returned home around 9.30 pm, her son insisted on speaking to her privately. He then locked her in a room, threatened her with a knife and scissors, and allegedly raped her," the officer added. Out of fear and shame, the woman initially kept silent and started sleeping in the same room as her daughter, police said. However, around 3.30 am on August 14, the accused allegedly assaulted her again, after which she gathered courage and approached the police. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS, and an investigation is underway, officials added. The accused is a graduate but currently unemployed, while the complainant is an illiterate housewife married to a retired government employee. 30-Year-Old Man Critically Injured By 'Chinese Manjha' Near Tughlakabad
A 30-year-old man was left critically injured on Saturday afternoon after his throat was slit by a Chinese 'manjha' (synthetic kite string) while passing near Tughlakabad Metro Station, police said. According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received at Badarpur police station around 4:40 pm reporting the incident. A police team rushed to the flyover connecting Sarita Vihar to Faridabad, where the victim, identified as Rajneesh, a native of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh, was found lying in a pool of blood with a severe neck injury. He was immediately shifted to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where doctors said his condition remains critical. Preliminary investigation suggests that the injury was caused by a red-coloured synthetic manjha, commonly referred to as Chinese manjha, which has been banned due to its lethal nature. Police said legal action has been initiated, and further investigation is underway. The incident has once again raised concerns over the sale and use of Chinese manjha in the national capital, despite repeated crackdowns. Earlier, a team from Nand Nagri Police Station launched a special drive against individuals involved in the sale of banned 'Chinese Manjha', amid rising incidents of injuries and nabbed two siblings with 325 rolls on July 18. The Delhi Police has launched a special drive to curb the sale and use of hazardous Chinese Manjha -- a nylon-based kite string that has caused numerous injuries and fatalities involving people, birds, and animals. Acting on local intelligence, a team led by a team member conducted a raid at a premises in the Jhuggi area of Sunder Nagri, Delhi, and recovered 325 reels of Chinese Manjha. Two persons, namely Samir (22) and his younger brother Shakir (18), were apprehended. Accordingly, a case under Section 223(b) of the BNS and Sections 5/15 of the Environment Protection Act was registered at Nand Nagri police station, and an investigation has been initiated. During interrogation, both accused admitted to their involvement and disclosed that they had stocked the Manjha for sale in the Nand Nagri police station area during the upcoming festival season.
