The ending of the first season has hinted that the series is only going to get more dangerous. Though the fight with the student council is over, Yumeko and her new ally Kira now have to take on Kira's father and his team of reach jerks.
I'll admit, as someone who also read the manga, the way the live-action series went was really different, but I guess some people still enjoyed it—enough for a second season to actually happen.
Personally, I think that the series kind of drops a lot of the things that made the original anime interesting. Yes, the school is ridiculous in that gambling determines the social heirarchy, but the games had always been fun because it's interesting to see how Yumeko sees through the cheaters and decides to fuck them over with her sheer love of risk.
That's also another thing that fans thought was weird about the series. In the anime, Yumeko is simply motivated by her love of gambling, but in the series, she's motivated by revenge; which is something .
Regardless of the comparisons though, I think that Marineau was very well cast, and she looks absolutely captivating in every frame she's in as Yumeko. It's great we're getting more of her.
No release date has been announced for Season 2 yet, but you can check out Bet now streaming on Netflix.

Momokarun Returns in Opening for 2nd Season of Dandadan
It's going to be a while before we get the Chainsaw Man movie, but it looks like we got the second season of Dandadan first. The series is now available on Netflix, we have a look at the full opening featuring new and familiar characters. The opening is called On the Way and is performed by AiNA THE END who has also provided the opening for the incredibly underrated Tengoku Daimakyou/Heavenly Delusion . I have to admit, while the second opening is catchy, it's kind of lacking on the character reveal department. The first opening had teased all of the incoming villains of the season, but so far the main focus on Opening 2 has just been on the four recurring characters including Momo, Okarun, Jiji, and Aira. If you read the manga though, you'll notice teases for some incoming characters—one of which is Kinta Sakata, an overweight otaku whose speciality is his intensive knowledge of mecha; also he's convinced that he's the protagonist of the story and is very jealous that Okarun gets to talk to women. Admittedly not too many people like Kinta, but I like to think he's holding a mirror to a huge chunk of anime fans— and that makes them uncomfortable. We don't know how far into the manga the second season is going to go, but it's likely that we'll get the introduction of another member of the group Rin who has the same amount of screentime Kinta has in the opening. Dandadan Season 2 is now available on Netflix.

K-Pop Demon Hunters Director Confirms Names of the Tiger and Crow
K-Pop Demon Hunters came out last weekend, and it's turned out to be a big hit for Netflix. While people are waiting for the announcement of the sequel, director Maggie Kang has revealed a detail about some characters that weren't revealed in the film. If you've watched the movie, you'll know that Rumi is kind of stalked by a mythical tiger and crow, and Kang has revealed that their actual names are Derpy and Sussie. Here's her post: And might as well give you the other one. The magpie's name is Sussie cuz it's always giving sus eyes. Derpy and Sussie — Maggie Kang (@maggiemkang) June 22, 2025 We don't know why the movie decided to hold back on revealing their names, but my guess is that they wanted to come up with something more marketable but they ran out of time and just decided not to name them officially. If anything, some people have been praising KPDH for their restraint on the animal sidekicks. Sure there are two of them, but they neither sing or talk; so they're in the film, but they don't really take up as much space as a Disney animal sidekick does. For now, K-Pop Demon Hunters is blowing up online. Not only is the film getting a lot of attention, but the original songs from the Huntrix and Saja Boys are also topping the Spotify and iTunes charts. A lot of fans are hopeful that a sequel will be announced soon, but as of now, it looks like Netflix and the team are just resting on their laurels. Besides, what would we even expect out of a sequel? A world tour? Different huntress groups from different countries? Actual celebrity cameos? We'll just have to wait and see. For now, catch Derpy and Sussie in K-Pop Demon Hunters now streaming on Netflix.
