'Har Har Mahadev' chants echo as PM Modi arrives for key NDA meet
This key meeting comes amid an ongoing deadlock in Parliament, with opposition parties demanding a debate on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and calling for its withdrawal.
The meeting witnessed thunderous applause and chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' in celebration of the success of both Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev.
Prominent NDA leaders—including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut—were in attendance, representing both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Meanwhile, opposition protests disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha, preventing discussion on the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, and the National Anti-Doping (Amendment) Bill, 2025.
Separately, leaders of the INDIA bloc are scheduled to meet at 10 AM on Tuesday in the office of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, also located in the Parliament Library Building. Following the meeting, alliance MPs will stage a protest at 10:30 AM in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament. The demonstration, held under the slogan "Our vote, our right, our fight", will oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
The Lok Sabha will begin Tuesday's session with obituary references for former MPs Tilakdhari Prasad Singh, Ram Rati Bind, and Shibu Soren.
As per the agenda issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is expected to move amendments to the National Anti-Doping Act, 2022, as well as introduce the National Sports Governance Bill, 2025, for discussion and passage in the House.

Delhi HC issues notice in petition challenging UPSC decision barring women from military academies through CDS exam

(Representative photo) The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice in a petition challenging the Union Public Services Commission's (UPSC) decision barring women from applying to military academies through the Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination. A bench of chief justice DK Upadhyay and justice Tushar Rao Gedela directed the Centre and UPSC to file their response in a petition filed by Kush Kalra, and fixed the next hearing for November 12. In his petition, Kalra asserted that UPSC's May 28 advertisement for the CDS-II Examination 2025, restricting women from applying to three of the four service branches—the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala; and Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad—was arbitrary and violative of the fundamental right to equality and profession. The notification only permits women to apply to the Officers Training Academy, Chennai, in the Short Service Commission (SSC) course. Kalra, in his plea, contended through advocate Jyotika Kalra, sought to highlight the inconsistency between the exclusion and the government's own statement in the same notification, which claimed it 'strives to have a workforce which reflects gender balance and women candidates are encouraged to apply.' Such a contradiction, Kalra argued, exposes a systemic and discriminatory barrier that undermines the rights of aspiring women candidates and runs counter to constitutional principles and the Supreme Court's 2020 ruling on permanent commission. In February 2020, the Supreme Court, while allowing permanent commission to women officers in the Army, ruled that restricting the appointment of women to command positions was unconstitutional. To be sure, the Centre in September 2021, after the Supreme Court's nudge, informed the court about its decision to induct women into the National Defence Academy (NDA). However, the top court in January 2022 demanded an explanation from the Union government on restricting the intake of women cadets in the upcoming session of the NDA to 19– the same as last year. Citing the example of Col Sofyia Qureshi, one of the two women officers who briefed the media after India's execution of Operation Sindoor, Kalra in his petition asserted that denying entry to women through CDS would deprive the country of such officers. 'This exclusion of women candidates from the opportunity to get employed through CDS, becomes a hurdle in the career advancement opportunities for women officers in the armed forces. The categorical exclusion of women candidates from applying for the CDS examination and getting selected for IMA, AFA and INA solely on the grounds of sex, without any reasonable or justifiable explanations is a violation of the fundamental right to equality,' the petition read. Kalra said that even though the high court in April directed the Centre to take a call on the entry of women in CDS within eight weeks, no decision has been taken until now.

The Prime Minister also expressed that Shah still has more work to do in the future, and the alliance partners honoured him for his efforts and contribution." The visit is part of routine coordination between central and state leadership, especially with the upcoming civic elections. The BMC polls, significant for all major political parties, are expected to be announced soon. During the visit, Shinde was accompanied by key members of the Shiv Sena and was expected to meet several other senior leaders in Delhi. Turning to ‘spiritual powers' to fight ‘vote jihad' led to Mahayuti's victory: CM Fadnavis
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said he and Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde turned to the 'spiritual powers' in the state to counter the 'vote jihad' experiment observed during last year's Lok Sabha election in May which led to their unprecedented victory in the assembly poll later in Nov. "An experiment was conducted in the name of 'vote jihad' during the Lok Sabha poll. Some people united to defeat nationalist thoughts. When we unearthed their conspiracy, I and Shinde Saheb, appealed to the spiritual powers in Maharashtra," he said. Fadnavis was speaking at an event organised by spiritual leader Ramgiri Maharaj at Shani Devgaon village in Vaijapur taluka of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP's Mahayuti alliance suffered a setback in Maharashtra during the Lok Sabha election but made a remarkable comeback six months later in the assembly poll. "We told Ramgiri Maharaj and other seers in Maharashtra that this (vote jihad) is not a political invasion but a clear attack on our culture. There is a feeling that a handful of people are uniting to defeat the thoughts of nationalism and our sants," Fadnavis said.
