Top recruit in 2027 class discusses UNC basketball program
The North Carolina Tar Heels have a three-player recruiting class coming in headlined by five-star forward Caleb Wilson in 2025. Hubert Davis did a good job assembling the class as he looks for his team to improve on last season.
But the focus on the future is also there for the Tar Heels as well.
One prospect the Tar Heels are pursuing in the 2027 class is power forward CJ Rosser. The Rocky Mount, North Carolina native is a priority recruit for the Tar Heels not only because he's ranked No. 2 overall in the class but because he's an in-state recruit.
While Rosser's recruitment is far from over, he caught up with Sam Lance of Zag's Blog to update his recruitment and he talked about Hubert Davis and UNC. Here is what he had to say about the Tar Heels:
North Carolina: 'I was talking with coach [Hubert] Davis. He's a chill guy. He talked about how their players come to his house every now and then just so they can have a little talk. He treats them like family.'
Duke, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame are also involved as are several other programs. The 6-foot-9, 195-pound Rosser is ranked No. 2 nationally, the No. 1 power forward and No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
He currently has 11 total offers in his recruitment and will have more as the recruitment goes on.

Neil is set to take an official visit to Michigan State on June 20, and is currently projected to end up a Spartan via 247Sports' crystal ball predictions. So this latest offer from Boston College could threaten the Spartans' chances of landing his commitment later this month. Mock MLB draft has Mason Neville going to Milwaukee in the first round There were times this season when Mason Neville carried the Oregon Duck baseball team. It seemed as if he would hit a home run in every game. The Oregon centerfielder had a monster season where he set the program's single-season record with 26 home runs. He also hit .290 and drove in runs. Neville was hitting over .300 for much of the year, but he went into a late-season slump that brought his average down. For his efforts, MLB scouts are telling their bosses that Neville is a serious prospect. So much so that in the latest MLB mock draft from USA TODAY writer Gabe Lacques, the Duck centerfielder will be drafted at the end of the first round by the Milwaukee Brewers. According to Lacques, Neville's size and power will translate to the next level. "(Neville) should be a first-day selection and perhaps hits the outskirts of the first round if things break his way," he said. "Neville offers 30-homer power in a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame that for now has stuck in center field." The MLB draft will occur during the All-Star Break July 13-14 in Atlanta. LOOK: Former Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka shows of new Tampa Bay uniform The Ohio State football program saw a whopping 14 players get selected in the 2025 NFL draft, with four of them hearing their names called in the first round. One of those first-rounders, and the first one off the board, was wide receiver Emeka Egbuka, who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the No. 19 overall pick. So yeah, from the Bucks to the Bucs, if you will. Emeka becomes the only former Ohio State player on the roster and adds to a wide receiver room in Tampa that might be the best in the NFL. The all-time receptions leader in OSU history won't be wearing the No. 2 we saw him in while running crisp routes in Columbus, but will instead don the No. 9 in "Champa Bay." Here's a look at Egbuka in his new digs in Tampa. Hopefully, we'll see plenty of these scoreboard videos of him during the season this fall and winter. There will be plenty of former Ohio State players running around and doing special athletic moves on the football field in NFL stadiums this fall, and we'll be here to make note of many of those moments.
