2025 Honda Prologue Gets Range Boost to a Maximum of 308 Miles

Yahoo03-03-2025
The 2025 adds a new front electric motor that adds both power and range.
Front-wheel-drive Prologues now make 220 horsepower, up by eight, and all-wheel-drive variants produce 300 hp, a 12-hp increase.
The front-wheel-drive versions gain 12 miles for a 308-mile range while the all-wheel-drive Prologue now maxes out at 294 miles of range.
The Honda Prologue—the automaker's first dedicated EV for the United States—got off to a hot start in 2024. Despite not going on sale until the end of the second quarter, the Prologue managed to rack up 33,017 sales in 2024, making the electric mid-size SUV the sixth-biggest-selling EV in the U.S. last year. But Honda is making the Prologue more enticing for EV shoppers in 2025, implementing a new front power unit for the 2025 Prologue to both boost the power output and improve the SUV's range.
The Prologue is sold with both single-motor/front-wheel-drive and dual-motor/all-wheel-drive setups. For the front-wheel-drive Prologue, the new electric motor has resulted in an eight-horsepower bump to a total of 220 horsepower. Torque is also up to 243 pound-feet, a seven-pound-foot increase. Despite being more potent, the Prologue also travels farther on a charge, with the front-wheel-drive variant gaining an additional 12 miles of range, pushing the total range figure to 308 miles.
The new motor has also brought a higher output for the all-wheel-drive variants, which add 12 horsepower for a total of 300 ponies and 25 pound-feet of torque for a total of 355 pound-feet. Range has also increased, with the EX and Touring trim adding 13 miles for a 294-mile range and the Elite trim's range increasing by 10 miles to a total of 283 miles.
The 2025 Prologue will start at $48,850 for the base EX model in front-wheel-drive form, only $55 more than last year. The Touring trim starts at $53,150 for the front-wheel-drive powertrain, and upgrading to all-wheel drive for the EX or Touring will see the price rise by $3000. The top-of-the-line Elite trim is available exclusively with all-wheel drive and starts at $59,350. Honda also says that all 2025 Prologues are eligible for the $7500 federal tax credit for EVs.

An Award-Winning, First-of-Its-Kind Honda Motorcycle Is Finally Coming to Market

As speculation swirls about the Concept that just garnered Red Dot kudos, the brand says a production version will roll out early next year. From cruisers to ADVs, street bikes to touring motos — not to mention tech like e-clutch and DCT — Honda has long been a leader in many corners of the two-wheeled world. Which is why it's kind of surprising that the red brand has yet to release a true electric motorcycle. Sure, there was the Wuyang-Honda E-Vo a couple months ago, but that one comes with so many caveats it doesn't really count. Regardless, it appears Honda is finally getting serious about this growing category. The brand recently announced not only that its long-simmering EV Fun Concept won a big award but also that it's coming to life. Awash in accolades I don't want to say Honda is being coy about the EV Fun Concept, which itself is no secret, having been showcased at EICMA last fall. However, the press release sandwiched that news between an announcement that the Fastport eQuad micromobility vehicle had won a Red Dot Best of the Best award and that the concept movie for the Honda V3 motorcycle engine had also been honored. Both of those kudos are notable — as is the scooter-like EV Urban Concept also garnering Red Dot recognition — but for serious two-wheeled enthusiasts, the big news concerns the electric sportbike. Especially because of this loaded sentence: 'The production model based on this concept model will be a naked sports model equivalent to a mid-sized (ICE) motorcycle and is scheduled to go on sale before the end of the current fiscal year (ending March 31, 2026) as the first Honda electric sports model equipped with a fixed battery.' Hype(d) machine Adding fuel to this fire is a teaser video Honda dropped a couple weeks ago, one that appears to show an updated version of the Concept and telling viewers to 'be the wind' — and also to stay tuned for more news on September 2. What jumps out in the 15-second clip? Among other things, a new TFT display, a revised triple clamp and a busier left-hand switchgear. Those features round out a great-looking streetfighter Honda itself touts for 'quiet yet overwhelming acceleration,' a 'slim, easy-to-manage chassis package' and 'a new emotional experience that is very different to internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles.' One downer, as RideApart points out, is a claimed 62 miles of range from the fixed battery. That's a bummer considering the brand is already deploying its Mobile Power Pack in all sorts of vehicles. A swappable power source would not only enable more miles but also be appealing to apartment dwellers who may lack a garage in which to charge the bike overnight. On that front, electric-only brands such as Maven — not to mention, believe it or not, Harley-Davidson — could eat Honda's lunch with removable batteries. That being said, we're talking about Honda and a bike that just won a major design award. Given the brand's pedigree, production capability, dealer network and general chutzpah, I'd be shocked if what actually rolls out early next year isn't pretty damn impressive. Acura Is Showing Off Tony Stark's NSX Drop-Top at Monterey Car Week

Acura Is Showing Off Tony Stark's NSX Drop-Top at Monterey Car Week originally appeared on Autoblog. Back in 2012, Honda and Acura fans got a little treat at the movies The first film in Marvel's highly successful Avengers crossover series was released in the summer of 2012. While the series would prove to be huge blockbusters individually, the first film set numerous box office records. It grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie of 2012 and among the highest-grossing films of all time. Though the film itself was a key marker in the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, gearheads, particularly Honda and Acura fans, got a special treat towards the end of the film. In the final scene, Tony Stark, the man behind the Iron Man suit, played by Robert Downey Jr., drove away in a different sports car than the Audi R8 in previous Iron Man films: a Burgundy-colored roadster version of the Acura NSX concept car. You can see Tony Stark's Acura in the flesh at Monterey In an announcement released on August 12, Acura announced that the very Acura NSX Roadster from The Avengers will make its first public appearance in more than a decade during Monterey Car Week. Specifically, the roadster will appear at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on August 15, as part of Acura's celebration of the 35th anniversary of the first-generation NSX. In addition, Acura said it plans to auction the Stark NSX roadster for charity and will start accepting interested bidders at Monterey for a chance to participate in the auction next year. Alongside the NSX roadster, which is complete with the custom 'Stark 33' New York license plate, Acura's booth at the Quail will also showcase notable production NSX examples. These include a 1995 NSX-R, which was never sold in the United States, and a 1999 Zanardi Edition, a limited edition model built to celebrate the race car driver's back-to-back CART Champ Car championships. The older vehicles will be showcased alongside the RSX Prototype, Honda's newest electric vehicle, and the Acura brand's future electric SUV offering. Prior to the film's release in May 2012, the NSX concept (in coupe form) made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show and subsequently appeared in a star-studded Acura Super Bowl ad featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. The actual production version of the second-generation NSX wouldn't hit the streets until 2016, but before then, the roadster would also make an appearance at the red carpet during the premiere of the Avengers film with Robert Downey Jr. behind the wheel. View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article However, according to Acura, the very vehicle that the Iron Man and True Believer actor drove was not some sort of pre-production prototype with beta-version technology. The roadster was created specifically for the film by Hollywood fabricators Trans FX and penned by a team at the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, led by then-Acura Creative Director Dave Marek. Interestingly, the movie roadster's hand-crafted resin and fiberglass body was fitted onto a "well-used" first-generation 1991 NSX with over 252,000 miles on the clock. In addition to the bespoke body, it's had its ride height dropped by 2 inches, fitted with 18-inch wheels, and aftermarket bucket seats. "We knew it would have to be a reliable vehicle for filming, not just a static display, and we couldn't come up with anything that would be more reliable than an original Acura NSX," Marek said in a statement. Final thoughts I am not that big of a Marvel fan, but I remember watching that movie with my cousins in a movie theater shortly after it was released while on vacation in Virginia Beach. I fell asleep during the entirety of the film, only to wake up to see Downey Jr.'s character drive away in the NSX. Given this vehicle's provenance, I hope that it falls into the hands of a museum or some sort of collection that can be publicly viewed when the hammer drops next year. This vehicle is not only a piece of movie memorabilia but a footnote in Honda and Acura's history.
