Sunitha inaugurated a safe drinking water plant in the village, supported by Greenko Rayala Wind Power Pvt. Ltd., urging responsible water use. At the village secretariat, she distributed Bengal gram seeds (LRG-105 and LRG-52 varieties) to farmers, encouraging pulse cultivation for profitability and advising against leaving lands barren due to past crop failures.
She emphasised visible development in the constituency, with most long-pending projects nearing completion and road connectivity improved in nearly all villages. Welfare schemes are now reaching deserving beneficiaries despite previous administrative challenges, and genuine grievances will be addressed, she assured.
At a review meeting in Atmakur, Sunitha instructed TDP cluster, unit, KSS, and booth in-charges to strengthen the door-to-door campaign. She urged them to inform every household about the government's efforts and future plans, and to use the My TDP app to collect and act on feedback effectively.

The 800 MW NTPC-BHEL advanced ultra super critical (AUSC) coal fired project is yet to get requisite approvals from the centre despite being announced in Budget 2024-25. According to submissions by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) before the Parliamentary Committee on Public Undertakings (CoPU), follow-up meetings were held at NITI Aayog in August and December 2024 subsequent to the budget announcement. 'A draft Public Investment Board (PIB) note for approval was also submitted to the Power Ministry by NTPC with project details in March 2025,' MHI said. But there has been no progress since. 'The final approval from the Government is still awaited which is crucial for the project to move forward,' the Parliamentary Committee said. The AUSC project aims to replace aging subcritical coal plants with more efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives. The technology, developed jointly by BHEL , NTPC, and the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), completed its R&D phase in December 2020. According to MHI, the proposed Technology Demonstration Plant (TDP) is to be located at NTPC Korba in Chhattisgarh and implemented by NTPC BHEL Power Projects Private Limited (NBPPL). Expressing concerns over the delay, The CoPU expressed concern over the delay, calling the ministry's response 'interim' and urging the Ministry of Heavy Industries to 'vigorously follow up' with the Ministry of Power and other relevant departments to secure final approval. The committee emphasized the importance of the AUSC project in improving the efficiency and environmental performance of India's thermal power fleet, especially as over 130 GW of coal-based capacity is expected to cross 30 years of age by 2047. The report also highlighted broader issues facing BHEL, including procurement restrictions, delays in board appointments, and gender representation in the workforce. The committee reiterated its call for time-bound action and greater inter-ministerial coordination to ensure strategic projects like AUSC do not languish despite policy support.

The lawyer couple was brutally murdered in broad daylight in Peddapalli district, triggering widespread outrage and raising serious concerns about the safety of legal professionals in the state. The Apex Court's decision to transfer the case to the CBI is seen as a significant step toward ensuring justice and accountability. Rao said that the CBI probe would uncover the full facts of the case and ensure that those responsible face strict punishment. He also reiterated his long-standing demand for the introduction of an Advocate Protection Act to safeguard lawyers from such attacks. 'As a former MLC, I had repeatedly urged the previous government to enact the Advocate Protection Act, but the demand was ignored,' Rao said. He called on the current Congress-led state government to fulfill its election manifesto promise and introduce the legislation in the upcoming assembly session. Rao stressed that protecting the legal community is the government's responsibility and affirmed that the BJP would continue to advocate for justice, dignity, and security for lawyers. He said the Supreme Court's intervention should serve as a warning to those who threaten or attack legal professionals and reaffirmed the party's commitment to legal reforms and institutional accountability.

TG Cong races to set up party panels before local body polls
HYDERABAD: The Congress party has decided to complete the process of constituting party committees from the village to the district level before going for local body polls. PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, chairing a virtual meeting with AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan on Wednesday, instructed district in-charges and other key leaders to ensure that party committees from the village to the district level are constituted by the end of this month. Mahesh Goud also instructed that details of party assets be submitted without delay. He said the formation of gram, mandal, and district committees must be completed and reports sent by the end of this month. He also announced that the second phase of the 'Janahita Padayatra' would begin on August 24 and urged party ranks to ensure large-scale public participation. He stressed the need to widely publicise the development and welfare programmes being implemented by the Congress government under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. As part of the nationwide campaign against alleged 'vote theft' raised by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, against the BJP-led Election Commission, he detailed a three-phase movement against the alleged irregularities. The first phase will feature candlelight rallies at district headquarters on August 14, with participation from MPs, MLAs, MLCs, state and district executives, leaders of affiliated associations, and block and mandal presidents. The second phase, from August 22 to September 7, will include large demonstrations in the state capital and major cities, along with 'padayatras' and vehicle rallies highlighting the BJP's alleged role in vote rigging. The final phase, from September 15 to October 15, will see a month-long signature campaign to collect five crore signatures against 'vote theft', carried out through door-to-door outreach. Mahesh Goud called on leaders at all levels to ensure massive public mobilisation in each phase of the movement.
